Chapter 98

"Sir, are you really going to give half of the life scales to that kid?" After leaving the alchemy stone room, a knight asked Captain Jin.

"Give him half of the life scales? Am I crazy? You need to understand, we are pirates, not merchants. Why should I give him half of the life scales? Once we get the demon crystals, we'll leave immediately. In two months, we'll collect another batch of demon crystals and then sell them right away." Captain Jin said with a cold laugh.

"What about the future? Are we going to give up the demon crystals on Demon Island?" another knight asked.

"The secret is no longer ours alone. No one can guarantee how long it will remain a secret. What we have in our hands is the most real. We can't control what happens in the future. You all need to be clear. We are pirates, and our home is the sea. Do you really want to guard Demon Island for the rest of your lives?" Captain Jin said coldly.

Captain Jin led the pirates quickly to the port, showed the passage token, and obtained the right to board the ship. The pirates immediately rushed to the cargo hold and saw several boxes there. When they opened them, they found them filled with demon crystals.

"This time it's real, over three thousand demon crystals. I wonder how many life scales we can sell them for. It should be enough to indulge us for the rest of our lives," Luo Jindou said excitedly.

"Look at you." Although Captain Jin scolded Luo Jindou, his eyes also lit up. Ten demon crystals could promote a baron-level undead. Over three thousand demon crystals meant over three hundred baron-level undead. The price of one baron-level undead was at least twenty to thirty years of life scales. Over three hundred could sell for nearly ten thousand years of life scales, an astronomical number.

"Wait, something seems off." While everyone was excited, a knight noticed something amiss when he saw a gap in the corner of one of the boxes. He moved the demon crystals on top and found that the bottom was full of stones, with only the top layer being demon crystals.

"We've been tricked." Captain Jin moved the demon crystals from the other boxes and found the same thing—stones underneath. His face turned ashen, and he grabbed Luo Jindou: "You little brat, didn't you say all the demon crystals were on the ship, and they didn't take any off?"

"I... I..." Luo Jindou was so scared he couldn't speak.

"Let's go, we'll find that kid and settle the score. How dare he play me, Captain Jin. He must be tired of living." Captain Jin threw Luo Jindou aside and led the pirates to the inn where Bai Cangdong was staying.

When they arrived, they found that Bai Cangdong and his two companions had already left, not a single person remained. Captain Jin, enraged, smashed a table, and ended up having to pay a lot of money.

When Captain Jin took the passage token and headed to the port, Bai Cangdong and his two companions had already left the Three Swords Island from another port on a merchant ship.

"What if Captain Jin, in a fit of desperation, reveals the secret of the demon crystals? Won't it make it even harder for us to guard Demon Island?" Hua Buyu wrote, somewhat worried. Since discovering the secret of the Jade Armor Sky and the demon crystals, Hua Buyu realized that if Bai Cangdong could truly occupy Demon Island, his future would be bright, with a good chance of advancing to the rank of count. As Bai Cangdong's first knight, his own future seemed to brighten as well, so he became more enthusiastic about Bai Cangdong's affairs.

"Captain Jin didn't get any benefits, so he won't easily reveal the secret. I think he is probably heading to Demon Island just like us," Bai Cangdong said casually, leaning on the railing and looking at the distant sea.

"If Captain Jin also heads to Demon Island, how can we possibly stand against them?" Hua Buyu asked again, puzzled.

"Direct confrontation won't work. We can hide in the Jade Armor Sky and look for an opportunity. As long as Captain Jin is alone, we can capture the leader first. Once we have Captain Jin, the other pirates will surely submit."

The merchant ship sailed for over ten days. When they passed near Demon Island, they dropped off Bai Cangdong and his two companions. The three of them rowed a small boat to Demon Island, just like the first time they came, but their moods were completely different now.

Previously, Demon Island was a prison to them, but now it was a paradise with endless treasures.

The three didn't dare to row directly to Demon Island. They waited until it was almost dark and then landed on the other side. If Captain Jin had really come to Demon Island, even if he started later, he would definitely arrive before them.

After all, they were on a merchant ship, just a side trip, and wouldn't go straight to Demon Island like Captain Jin.

Taking advantage of the approaching darkness and the rising cold mist, the three hid their boat and landed on Demon Island, entering the Jade Armor Sky directly.

The jade armor undead in the Jade Armor Sky had already revived. After clearing the jade armor from the first few jade platforms, they slept on the platforms for the night.

For several days, Bai Cangdong and his two companions spent their time in the Jade Armor Sky, slaying jade armor undead and obtaining many life scales, weapons, and Bi Bo Polang Fish.

The probability of obtaining a piece of the Jade Armor set from the jade armor undead seemed very high. Bai Cangdong already had seven pieces of the Jade Armor set: one armor, two gauntlets, and four boots.

The three of them really wanted to kill a thousand jade armor undead on the jade platforms to see if they could complete the Jade Armor set.

Estimating that the new batch of demon crystals should be mature, Bai Cangdong and his two companions sneaked out of the Jade Armor Sky early in the morning and hid in the nearby stone forest.

They waited for a whole day, but no one approached the cold pond. As the cold mist began to rise, they had to return to the Jade Armor Sky.

They waited for several days without seeing anyone. Even Bai Cangdong himself began to doubt his judgment, wondering if Captain Jin had really come to Demon Island. However, they didn't dare to check at the Ghost Well and could only continue to wait in the stone forest.

Heaven rewards those who work hard. After waiting for seven or eight days, Bai Cangdong finally saw someone. Two people came to the cold pond, one of whom was Captain Jin.

"Captain, the mature demon crystals are almost all collected. We can leave Demon Island tomorrow," the knight said respectfully to Captain Jin.

"How many demon crystals did you collect in total?" Captain Jin asked, his face showing no joy.

"Over three hundred. That's how many matured in these two months," the knight said, looking helpless.

"Damn brat, over three thousand demon crystals, that's what it takes to accumulate over a year." Thinking of Bai Cangdong, Captain Jin gritted his teeth, his handsome face turning fierce.

"Captain, should we leave Demon Island tomorrow?"

"Only this much? Why leave so soon? Wait another month and collect the next batch of mature demon crystals before leaving," Captain Jin said angrily.

"But what if that brat reveals the secret of the demon crystals? Many powerful people will come to Demon Island, and we might be in danger."

Captain Jin frowned slightly. "No one has come for so long. I think that brat hasn't revealed the secret of the demon crystals yet. Here's what we'll do: tomorrow, you take the demon crystals we've collected and leave. I'll stay here for another month. If we can collect more demon crystals, great. If someone comes, we'll leave immediately."

"Yes, Captain."

"Alright, that's settled. Go to the Ghost Well and make sure they don't slack off. Try digging deeper, see if you can find more demon crystals. I need some time alone." Dismissing the knight, Captain Jin sat on a rock by the cold pond, staring at his reflection in the water, lost in thought.

Suddenly, Captain Jin noticed another figure in the water. He immediately leaped up, delivering three rapid kicks and summoning his golden spear, swinging it fiercely at the person.

Bai Cangdong moved strangely, dodging Captain Jin's three kicks and spear, then closed in on him, using every joint in his body to attack the nearby Captain Jin with punches, palms, fingers, elbows, knees, and feet.

At the same time, Hua Buyu and Feng Xian attacked from both sides, surrounding Captain Jin.

Captain Jin's form changed, his spear sweeping wildly, knocking Hua Buyu and Feng Xian away. He shouted, "We're under attack, come to my aid."

Bai Cangdong didn't hesitate, attacking Captain Jin again. He had fought Captain Jin in the stone room countless times and knew him inside and out. Seeing Captain Jin's move, he knew what he was planning. After a few practiced dodges, Bai Cangdong summoned his dual dragon blades and slashed down at Captain Jin, who had nowhere to go.

Captain Jin's heart sank. His spear burst with a powerful light, blocking the dual dragon blades. However, upon contact, the spear was cut in half, and Captain Jin used the momentary pause to fly backward, escaping toward the Ghost Well.

Feng Xian and Hua Buyu rushed forward to block Captain Jin, and Bai Cangdong followed, the four of them exchanging blows. In a short time, they had exchanged countless punches and kicks.

Captain Jin, fighting three at once, managed to injure Feng Xian and Hua Buyu. Finally, Bai Cangdong took the opportunity to severely wound Captain Jin with the dual dragon blades and knocked him unconscious with a punch to the back of the head.

"Let's go." Without a word, Bai Cangdong carried the unconscious Captain Jin and used the Bi Bo Polang Fish to enter the Jade Armor Sky. The injured Feng Xian and Hua Buyu, despite their pain, followed Bai Cangdong into the Jade Armor Sky.

Almost as soon as the three entered the Jade Armor Sky, Captain Jin's four knights arrived, followed by other viscount-level pirates. They found only a bloody battlefield, with no sign of anyone else.

"Search! The enemy must still be on the island. We must save Captain Jin." The four knights gave the order, and the pirates immediately began searching the entire Demon Island.
