Swordmaster Healer Chapter 007

Chapter 2: Our Healer Has Changed (3)

F-Rank.

Potential Ability Check.

Reincarnation Awakening Effect Check.

Additional Effects Unknown.

"Potential Ability? And Reincarnation Awakening?"

Although the item grade was poor, it had two unique stats: Potential Ability Awakening and Reincarnation Awakening Effect.

"I should look it up on Hunter.com when I get back."

Sungjun muttered to himself, picked up the 'Orc Berserker's Javelin,' and left the dungeon. As soon as he emerged from the entrance, the gazes of the onlookers focused on him.

"What? You're already out?"

"I said I'd give up. I was surprised yesterday, but this is the limit of a Legend."

"Did he clear it?"

"There's no way."

They murmured, but Sungjun, ignoring them, approached a staff member of the Dungeon Management Bureau and showed him the meter. The staff member's face turned pale.

"T-this can't be... It's impossible..."

The way he looked at Sungjun was as if he were seeing a monster.

'From his reaction, it's clear that I've entered the top 10 records for D-Rank dungeons among hunters of the same level.'

Sungjun suppressed a burst of laughter and asked, "What about the record?"

"J-just a moment. I'll check it one more time."

The unusual reaction made the onlookers stop their murmuring and focus on the two of them. The staff member's eyes shook as if there were an earthquake as he examined the meter.

Finally, he opened his tightly closed mouth.

"2 hours and 5 minutes... It's a new national record for hunters of the same level!"

He seemed very surprised, and his voice was loud enough for all the gathered hunters to hear.

"A new national record? So, a C-Rank recovery hunter really soloed a D-Rank dungeon?"

"The meter doesn't lie."

"Amazing!"

The hunters' gazes toward Sungjun changed when they heard about the new record. The exclamations of admiration didn't stop.

Sungjun barely managed to suppress his laughter. Once this news spreads on Hunter.com, no one will casually call him a Legend anymore.

"New record?"

Sungjun asked again, hiding his surprise. He usually didn't pay much attention to solo records, so he didn't know much. He had expected to be in the top 10, but he hadn't even considered breaking a record.

"It's a new record. It's the first time a recovery hunter has set a new record. Hunter, you're truly amazing."

The staff member checked the meter several times, finding it hard to believe. But he found no issues.

"Would you mind waiting a moment while I report this to the Dungeon Management Bureau?"

The staff member's attitude was much more polite than before.

"Do I need to report to the Dungeon Management Bureau?"

"Yes. The Dungeon Management Bureau offers special benefits to hunters who set new records."

"Special benefits?"

"Yes."

Sungjun remembered reading a post on Hunter.com about this. He calmed his excitement and said, "Do it quickly."

At Sungjun's urging, the staff member made a call from a short distance away. A moment later, he hurried back to Sungjun.

"Let's go to the Dungeon Management Bureau. I'll provide a vehicle."

A luxury sedan arrived. Since he needed to visit the Dungeon Management Bureau to sell the mana stone and item anyway, there was no reason to refuse.

"Let me open the door for you."

An officer who looked like a staff member got out of the passenger seat and opened the door. After Sungjun got in, the door closed, and they headed to the Dungeon Management Bureau.

'Not bad.'

As a hunter, he had struggled financially and often used public transportation to save money.

Thanks to the vehicle provided by the Dungeon Management Bureau, they arrived quickly. Sungjun met an officer named Jeong Mi, who greeted him at the building's parking lot.

Officer Jeong Mi was a high-ranking official in the Dungeon Management Bureau. It was the first time Sungjun had met a high-ranking official in his two years as a hunter, so it felt new.

"Welcome, Hunter. I'm Officer Jeong Mi from the Dungeon Management Bureau."

Jeong Mi greeted Sungjun with a bright smile. Sungjun also smiled, finding her different from Yeonju. When he sat down, another staff member brought iced coffee.

"I'll explain the special benefits."

While Sungjun drank the iced coffee, Jeong Mi explained the special benefits for hunters who set new records.

The special benefit was a priority occupation right for a new dungeon. This was often used by guilds to occupy A-Rank or higher dungeons with low regeneration rates.

The market value fluctuates, but it's worth at least 300 million won. Although it could be sold, it was a rare item, so Sungjun decided to keep it.

"Is that all? I'll go now."

"Wait a moment, Hunter!"

"Is there something else?"

"The Hunter Management Bureau has requested a re-evaluation of your rank."

Despite Sungjun's blunt response, Jeong Mi's smile didn't waver.

"A re-evaluation of my rank?"

Sungjun asked, puzzled. Usually, hunters request re-evaluations.

"Since this is unprecedented, an examiner will come to you. You don't need to go to the Hunter Management Bureau. If you cooperate, we'll provide you with convenience later."

"In that case, I'll agree."

If an examiner came, it would save him the trouble. Plus, the promise of convenience made it hard to refuse. In fact, Sungjun was also curious about how much his body had activated.

Soon, an examiner from the Hunter Management Bureau arrived.

"Hello, Hunter. I'm Examiner Jo In-gyu from the Hunter Management Bureau! Thank you for waiting."

Since Sungjun had set a new record, the staff members he met today were overly polite.

Sungjun smiled. Everything revolved around him, and he didn't mind.

"I'll prepare right away. Please wait a moment."

In-gyu bowed and took out a meter from his bag. It was a different type from the ones hunters usually carry.

"I'll check your body activation and measure your mana."

Sungjun nodded, and In-gyu approached him with the meter.

Beep-

The signal indicating the measurement was complete sounded after a short while.

"Is it done?"

"Just a moment, please."

But In-gyu didn't give the result. Instead, he looked back and forth between the meter and Sungjun, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"This is strange... This can't be..."

He muttered to himself and reset the meter.

"I'm really sorry, Hunter. Can I measure again?"

"There's no choice. Do it quickly."

It was a simple request, so Sungjun nodded readily.

"Thank you, Hunter. It'll be quick."

In-gyu approached Sungjun with the meter again. Soon, the 'beep' sound indicated the result.

"Finally, it's correct."

In-gyu muttered and put the meter back in his bag. His gaze then turned to Sungjun.

"Thank you, Hunter. The result just came in."

"Tell me."

"You've been promoted from C-Rank to B-Rank! Congratulations!"

'I've become a B-Rank hunter?'

He had expected it, but the joy was overwhelming.

'Now, my goal is closer.'

Sungjun's eyes sparkled.

"Congratulations, Hunter!"

"Congratulations on your promotion!"

The staff members in the office clapped exaggeratedly and congratulated him.

"Since you had your regular evaluation in January... You've been promoted to B-Rank in about 5 months! This is rare! Congratulations again!"

"If that's all, I'll go now."

Sungjun left the office with a happy heart. In-gyu, still in disbelief, shook his head.

"It must be an error... There's no way..."

He wanted to believe it was an error. The numbers he saw were too incredible.
