Chapter 40

As the sword techniques were unleashed, there was a faint sound of thunder in the air.

Lu Xuan was now fully engrossed, the number of moves in this sword technique was not many, only eight in total. When the first four moves were performed, the sound of thunder was heard, and the momentum was great. By the time the last four moves were executed, a faint glow of lightning could be seen on the blade, greatly increasing its lethality!

The Lightning Sword Technique truly lived up to its name!

After demonstrating the entire set of sword techniques, the stone statue did not stop but began to perform the second round, repeating the cycle over and over again.

Lu Xuan stared at the stone statue without blinking, and with each demonstration, his impression and understanding of the Lightning Sword Technique deepened.

However, this was not enough. Even if he memorized the entire set of sword techniques, performing them would only be a mere form without the essence. More important than the techniques themselves was the understanding of them.

Only by grasping the essence of the sword technique could one truly master it. How much one could feel from it tested the martial artist's insight. This was the very purpose of this round. The higher the insight, the deeper the understanding, and the more powerful the sword technique would be when finally performed.

After watching five times, Lu Xuan stopped and closed his eyes, slowly savoring everything he had just understood. In the process, he couldn't help but extend his right hand, forming a sword with his fingers, and began to mimic the moves.

As he mimicked, the yuan force in his body involuntarily began to flow through his meridians.

At this moment, many martial artists in the stone chamber, like Lu Xuan, were mimicking the techniques contained in the stone statue, carefully savoring them.

First move, second move...

One by one, the sword techniques were slowly mimicked by Lu Xuan, but it was extremely difficult. The techniques he mimicked were far from the ones demonstrated by the stone statue.

Trying to perform the Lightning Sword Technique perfectly after just five demonstrations was almost impossible.

After勉强 performing all eight moves of the Lightning Sword Technique once, Lu Xuan immediately stopped. Due to his shallow understanding, the techniques he performed were like a mishmash, not even resembling a proper technique, let alone a show of skill.

So he watched the stone statue's demonstration again, combining theory with practice to better practice.

At this moment, many martial artists were in the same state as Lu Xuan. These martial artists finally understood what the elder had said earlier. Even a low-grade yellow-level martial technique was not something they could easily master. Some martial artists with low insight had no understanding at all and could only forcibly memorize the techniques.

Xia Ye was also like this, frowning after one attempt.

Just as Lu Xuan was watching the second demonstration, the sword crystal in his dantian suddenly moved, releasing a gentle sword aura. Lu Xuan, immersed in his understanding, was completely unaware of this.

This sword aura quietly circulated in Lu Xuan's meridians, simultaneously and slowly pulling his yuan force along.

Lu Xuan, who was savoring the sword techniques, subconsciously controlled his yuan force to follow it. Miraculously, the frequency at which the sword aura circulated was perfectly synchronized with the Lightning Sword Technique, so much so that Lu Xuan, in his understanding, felt no difference, only that his understanding of the Lightning Sword Technique deepened.

The sword aura circulated again and again, pulling Lu Xuan's yuan force to circulate with it. After five cycles, the sword aura slowly merged back into the sword crystal and disappeared.

But in Lu Xuan's subconscious, the path of circulation was firmly remembered. Even though the sword aura had stopped, his yuan force continued to flow along the same path.

This time, Lu Xuan watched the stone statue demonstrate ten times before stopping. When he emerged from his understanding, Lu Xuan was suddenly startled to find that nearly half of his yuan force had been consumed!

He clearly remembered doing nothing, yet his yuan force had been consumed without warning, which was truly incomprehensible.

"Could it be that I unconsciously circulated my cultivation technique during the understanding process?" Lu Xuan said to himself, puzzled.

Although he was confused, time was pressing, and Lu Xuan didn't have the time to investigate. He felt that he had gained a deep understanding just now and was eager to try again.

But as soon as he mimicked the first move, Lu Xuan was shocked!

When he mimicked, his yuan force naturally circulated, as if he had done it countless times before. This feeling was very similar to when he used the Blink Sword Technique!

However, the Blink Sword Technique was possible because he inherited the memory of the sword crystal, clearly understanding the path of yuan force circulation. As for the Lightning Sword Technique, Lu Xuan was certain that he had never encountered it before. When he first used it, it was very awkward. In this short time, such a significant improvement was truly incomprehensible.

"Could it be the sword crystal again?" A thought flashed through Lu Xuan's mind. He wasn't foolish; such a miraculous event could only be caused by the sword crystal, and he couldn't think of any other reason.

However, at this moment, Lu Xuan didn't have time to investigate. Regardless of the reason, it was definitely a good thing for him.

Calming his mind, Lu Xuan practiced the Lightning Sword Technique again. His yuan force flowed naturally, without any awkwardness. After performing the entire set, Lu Xuan felt that it was about 70% similar to the stone statue's demonstration!

Moreover, Lu Xuan felt that the Lightning Sword Technique he practiced was even more powerful than the one demonstrated by the stone statue.

Although both were eight moves, the Lightning Sword Technique demonstrated by the stone statue was very rigid, each move being a separate entity, with no connection between the eight moves. Lu Xuan felt that the eight moves he used had subtle connections, each move accumulating a faint "momentum." When the final move was executed, all the accumulated "momentum" would burst out simultaneously, greatly enhancing the power of the final move!

"It must be the sword crystal!" Lu Xuan said to himself, delighted. The enchantment technique revealed by the sword crystal was an ancient enchantment technique, far more powerful than the current enchantment techniques. Improving martial techniques was not an incomprehensible matter.

With this discovery, Lu Xuan no longer watched the stone statue. He had already memorized the eight moves. Instead of trying to understand the stone statue's demonstration, he focused on practicing the Lightning Sword Technique improved by the sword crystal.

Time passed quickly. While other martial artists were still frowning and trying to understand the techniques, Lu Xuan had already practiced the Lightning Sword Technique to a high level of proficiency. Now, when he used the Lightning Sword Technique, it was about 80% similar to the stone statue's demonstration, which was a terrifying achievement.

An hour passed quickly.

The door of the stone chamber burst open, and Elder Sun's voice echoed, instantly waking all the martial artists.

"An hour has passed! All martial artists leave the stone chamber and proceed to the third round of testing!"
