Chapter 48

The fifth level, compared to the fourth, had a difficulty that increased several times over!

Looking at the three martial artists of the fifth level of Body Tempering and the two fifth-stage Bloodthirsty Tigers, even Lu Xuan couldn't help but feel a tingling sensation on his scalp.

Currently, his strength was merely at the peak of the fourth level of Body Tempering. In terms of realm, any of the enemies present could easily overwhelm him, let alone the fact that he now had to deal with five of them at once.

This time, Lu Xuan chose to take the initiative again.

With his full concentration, his speed instantly reached its peak, and he directly charged into the enemy group.

Before he even arrived, his sword had already been unleashed, the first move of the Lightning Sword Technique!

Accompanied by a faint sound of thunder, a dazzling bolt of lightning flashed across the sword, and he slashed at the axe-wielding martial artist at the front.

Facing Lu Xuan's sword, the martial artist did not dodge but swung his axe as well.

A "clang!" sounded as the sword and axe collided.

Lu Xuan felt a massive force transmitted to him, and his sword was actually blocked!

Since entering the Sword Tower, this was the first time Lu Xuan had been blocked by someone.

However, this was also reasonable. Although Lu Xuan was powerful, his strength was ultimately only at the fourth level of Body Tempering. Even with the Taiyi Reversion Technique, it was still difficult to overpower a fifth-level Body Tempering martial artist in terms of strength, especially when the martial artist was using an axe, a weapon that generally required more strength.

The first move failed to achieve its goal, but Lu Xuan was not discouraged. He immediately used the second move of the Lightning Sword Technique, but this time, he did not clash head-on with the martial artist. Instead, he targeted his weaknesses.

Indeed, the martial artist could no longer respond so calmly. With Lu Xuan's current understanding of sword intent and the Lightning Sword Technique, dealing with a mere fifth-level Body Tempering martial artist was not too difficult.

Unfortunately, his enemies were not just one.

After two moves, which forced the axe-wielding martial artist to retreat, the other two martial artists and the two beasts had already rushed up, surrounding Lu Xuan.

Lu Xuan, now surrounded, his eyes flashed with a sharp light, and his gaze instantly became fierce. He suddenly turned and simultaneously unleashed the third and fourth moves of the Lightning Sword Technique, attacking the two martial artists and the two beasts.

The Lightning Sword Technique, enhanced by the sword crystal, could accumulate sword momentum with each move, making it more powerful as it progressed. At this point, the third and fourth moves were far more powerful than the first.

A single person with a sword, fighting against five enemies of a higher level, would surely shock the elders and martial artists outside the Sword Tower if they saw it.

Using martial techniques to fight enemies without martial techniques was not too rare, but fighting five at once was enough to shock them.

At this moment, more and more martial artists were being transmitted out of the Sword Tower, almost every moment saw a martial artist being eliminated. Most of the martial artists were stuck at the third level.

A few martial artists had entered the fourth level, such as those at the fourth level of Body Tempering, who had fought for a while but ultimately failed to break through. For them, fighting four enemies was too difficult.

"There are still four people who haven't come out," Elder Xu said.

Uncle Jiu nodded, "Lu Xuan, Long Tai, Xia Ye, and another fifth-level Body Tempering martial artist."

As he spoke, the light from the fourth level of the Sword Tower flashed and then went out, indicating that no one was left in the fourth level. The four survivors had clearly all reached the fifth level.

Among the four, except for Lu Xuan, all were at the fifth level of Body Tempering. Entering the fifth level was not a problem for them. As for Lu Xuan, although his level was slightly lower, no one doubted his combat ability. The demonstration of the Lightning Sword Technique earlier had already proven everything.

At this moment, the light on the open ground flashed again.

"Someone has come out!" Elder Sun said, his mind racing, hoping it was Lu Xuan.

As the light dissipated, the person who emerged was revealed, and Elder Sun was greatly disappointed. Uncle Jiu and Xia Chenxi, among others, breathed a sigh of relief. The person who came out was not Lu Xuan, Long Tai, or Xia Ye, but the other fifth-level Body Tempering martial artist.

This martial artist was the last to enter the fifth level but the first to come out. Unlike Lu Xuan and the others, who had their own special techniques, he had consumed a lot of energy in the previous levels, especially the fourth level. Facing the five enemies in the fifth level, he couldn't even last a moment.

Now, only three people remained in the Sword Tower. It could be said that the top three in this assessment were already decided, with the only suspense being who would take first place!

After another dozen moments, another light flashed, drawing everyone's attention. The third place had come out!

This time, it was Xia Ye.

As soon as he emerged, his tired eyes quickly scanned the area. Not seeing Lu Xuan or Long Tai, a look of disappointment flashed in his eyes. Clearly, in the practical assessment, he had lost to the two again. However, thinking of Lu Xuan's astonishing insight, Xia Ye's mood improved. He had been like a frog in a well, but now he finally understood that there were always people better than him.

Handing over his shattered jade token to an attendant, Xia Ye sat down on the spot to recover his yuan energy. He had been fighting until the last moment in the Sword Tower, taking down three enemies in the fifth level before finally being overwhelmed. Now, his entire body was drained of the last bit of yuan energy, and he desperately needed to recover.

The assessment had reached its climax, with the final battle for the championship.

Uncle Jiu, Xia Chenxi, and Lin Xinyi were on edge, hardly daring to breathe. Elder Sun also stared at the Sword Tower without blinking. This was the decisive moment, and he had already made up his mind. As long as Long Tai could defeat Lu Xuan, he would do everything to declare Long Tai the first place!

In the fifth level, Lu Xuan's battle continued.

The Lightning Sword Technique was unleashed move after move, quickly reaching the seventh move. Lightning surrounded him, looking dazzling, but its main purpose was to confuse the enemies' vision.

At this moment, Lu Xuan suddenly darted out of the encirclement, then turned and unleashed the eighth move of the Lightning Sword Technique!

The accumulated sword momentum was released without reservation, and the dense lightning almost enveloped all the enemies. It was even more powerful than when Lu Xuan had demonstrated it in the third round of the assessment!

A bolt of lightning suddenly burst from the tip of his sword, landing directly on a Bloodthirsty Tiger. The lightning exploded, and the tiger was instantly blasted away, its body torn apart. A fifth-stage beast with extremely strong defenses was instantly killed!

Seizing the moment amidst the chaos, Lu Xuan rushed forward, his sword flashing. In a swift and decisive move, he took the lives of the two martial artists.

With three of the five enemies eliminated, the pressure on Lu Xuan was greatly reduced!
