Chapter 10

This silence lasted for several minutes, as everyone struggled to accept the unbelievable fact.

After a moment, Officer Li was the first to flip over his identity card, which indeed read "Liar."

One by one, everyone else revealed their cards, all of which read "Liar."

"You're very impressive..." Lawyer Zhang looked at Qi Xia with approval. "But how did you figure out that we were all dead?"

Qi Xia pointed to his notepad and said, "It's not difficult. I kept wondering why the room was sealed, why there were lines drawn on the walls and floor, why there was a clock in the center of the table, and why the goat-headed man insisted on a 'half-time break.'"

"The average person consumes about 0.007 cubic meters of air per minute, which is 0.42 cubic meters per hour. There are ten people in this room, so the total air consumption per hour would be 4.2 cubic meters."

"According to the goat-headed man, we not only slept for 12 hours in this room but also played the game for nearly an hour. If we multiply 4.2 cubic meters by 13, we get the number '54.6.'"

Qi Xia circled '54.6' on his notepad and said, "This is the amount of air we should have consumed."

He then looked around the room and asked, "But how many cubic meters is this room?"

Everyone followed his gaze.

"The organizer left us clues. They drew lines on the walls and floor, dividing them into many squares, each with a side length of about one meter," Qi Xia pointed to the marks on the wall. "The number of squares on the walls is 3 by 4, and on the floor and ceiling, it's 4 by 4. So the room's dimensions are 4 by 4 by 3, which is 48 cubic meters."

"How can a 48 cubic meter room contain 54.6 cubic meters of air?" Qi Xia frowned, his expression dark. "After so long, the air should be getting thin, but we don't feel any lack of oxygen..."

Doctor Zhao pondered for a moment, took Qi Xia's notepad, and pointed to the number '49.14.' "What does this number mean?"

Qi Xia looked at Doctor Zhao seriously and replied, "This is also the amount of air that needs to be consumed, but it's calculated for 'nine people.'"

"Nine people?"

Doctor Zhao was taken aback. After all, there were clearly ten people in the room consuming air, yet he was calculating for 'nine people.'

"I made a bold assumption," Qi Xia said expressionlessly. "If the goat-headed man is 'not human,' would the amount of air be enough? Clearly, it's not."

"What kind of lunatic are you?" Doctor Zhao muttered. "To make such a bizarre assumption?"

"Is it hard to understand?" Qi Xia pointed to the headless corpse on his right. "Doctor Zhao, you should be very familiar with skulls. Can a person usually break a skull with one hand?"

Doctor Zhao didn't answer because he knew it was impossible.

Not to mention a human skull, even a rabbit's skull would be difficult to break with one hand on a table.

Qiao Jiajin用余光看了看羊头人,发现他始终没有动作,深邃的目光从山羊面具里穿出,不知在思索什么。

“豁出去了!”

Qiao Jiajin大手一挥,也写下了“人羊”二字。

众人犹豫了一下,也纷纷写下了答案。

Qi Xia

Doctor Zhao stood up first, walked to the goat-headed man, and felt his neck for a pulse, finding that it had stopped.

"Hey!" Doctor Zhao shouted at the goat head. "The game is over, how do we get out?!"

But the silent corpse gave Doctor Zhao no answer.

The others slowly stood up.

The room had not changed, except for the addition of a corpse.

"Strange... are we really dead?" Tian Tian seemed to be pondering this question. She stretched out her slender hand and slapped herself hard.

"Ouch!" Tian Tian exclaimed. "It still hurts... why can I still feel pain if I'm dead?"

Qiao Jiajin shook his head helplessly. "Have you died before?"

"I..." Tian Tian paused, "I don't think I have..."

"So, who knows what happens after death? From the looks of it, this might be hell." Qiao Jiajin glanced at the two corpses in the room, feeling uneasy. "I can not only feel pain but also smell the stench."

"So what are we? Spirits?" Author Han Yimo asked.

Doctor Zhao also examined his body and found that his heartbeat, body temperature, and pulse were all normal, and he was breathing normally, yet he wasn't consuming oxygen.

Death truly is a mysterious thing, beyond any medical explanation.

"Whatever we are, I don't want to be trapped in this small room for the rest of our days," Officer Li said. "Let's find a way out."

Officer Li walked to the goat-headed man and picked up the gun that had fallen by his side.

This action startled everyone, who instinctively moved away from him.

Officer Li skillfully checked the gun, then removed the magazine, finding that the gun had only one bullet, which was now empty.

This was both good and bad news.

The good news was that they didn't need to worry about someone using the gun to harm others. The bad news was that they had no means of self-defense if other dangers arose.

Qiao Jiajin, who was quite brave, slowly removed the goat-headed man's mask, revealing a man with a completely decayed face.

His eyes were rolled back, showing no signs of life.

"What a terrifying face..."

Lawyer Zhang echoed.
