New readers can ignore this and do not need to read the old books.
When writing the old books, my writing skills were somewhat immature, and I didn't understand many of the pitfalls, so I stepped on some landmines, which might make some plots unpleasant.
Although this book has some connection with the old books, the connection is not significant. New readers do not need to catch up on the old books to understand this one.
[Note: I strongly do not recommend new readers to catch up on the old books because there are indeed many pitfalls.]
Many old readers might have some questions about the new book.
So, I will naturally take care of the old readers and have designed this chapter specifically for them to answer your questions.
I believe you have already heard in the group that Zheng Qian will appear in this book as an enemy.
What happened in these 12,000 years?
Here, I will answer without spoiling the plot.
For easier understanding, I will use a Q&A format.
Question 1: Since Zheng Qian and Yang Jia are enemies, who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy?
Answer: This question depends on whose perspective you take. In fact, the conflict between the two involves spoilers and cannot be detailed.
Yang Jia deeply respects and admires Zheng Qian after hearing his story.
Zheng Qian also has high hopes for this human youth who inherited the truth and empathizes with his being born in the Undercity.
However, when they first meet, they discover a significant difference in their ideologies, which ultimately makes them enemies, but this does not hinder their mutual respect.
Unfortunately, this difference is almost irreconcilable.
Question 2: Has Zheng Qian recovered his strength? How strong is he now?
Answer: He has recovered some of his strength, but it is far from his prime, let alone the power to explore ancient times and stabilize the world.
He has also lost core powers such as the Heart of Man, the Truth, the Will of the Torch Dragon, and the Eye of the Torch Dragon.
So, at most, he has reclaimed some remnants of his power, but he has still obtained infinite lifespan.
Due to some events at the end of the Fifth Era, the level rules in the Rodinia continent changed when entering the Sixth Era.
Zheng Qian's current level is Heaven Ascension Rank 10, which is roughly equivalent to Torch Dragon Divine Emperor Level 10 in the old level system.
Question 3: Where are the old characters?
Answer: Most of them have already died, but they all passed away naturally. Their lifespans were not sufficient to sustain them through the major events of the Fifth Era.
Zheng Qian's son died in battle, and the whereabouts of Maonan Bei involve spoilers and cannot be revealed.
Question 4: What about Yuan Chu and Zheng Yang?
Answer: They are all dead. They died in the conclusion of the old book and will not appear in this book.
However, Zheng Yang left a legacy, which has become a historical issue.
Question 5: Will Yang Jia's plot be similar to Zheng Qian's?
The first few chapters will be somewhat similar, but this is necessary for the plot to create a similar starting point. As the story progresses, the differences will become greater.
Their life trajectories can be said to be completely opposite.
In fact, I wrote five different openings for Yang Jia.
The initial one was a fantasy setting in the Sixth Era, where the Heavenly Dao disappeared. If relying solely on the energy of the earth's veins, the cultivation techniques of the Tian Shan Kingdom would become the optimal solution, thus initiating the era of spiritual energy revival in Rodinia.
However, this setting did not fit the overall style of the series and was ultimately abandoned.
There was also a sci-fi version, but a certain series' third part also followed this route, and I have a low opinion of that series with its skewed values, so I abandoned it to avoid association.
After several revisions, this version was determined to be the best.
Question 6: What's the deal with Yang Jia's wet nurse? Why didn't such a dragon appear in the old books?
Answer: Yang Jia's wet nurse is one of the Nine Sacred Primordial Beasts. As the name suggests, there are nine of these beasts, which are the new generation of dominant beasts born in the Sixth Era, possessing the power to shake the gods.
Yang Jia's wet nurse belongs to the Ancestor Dragon, which, in the setting of this book, is a degraded form of the Torch Dragon, known as the Purple Saint, governing thunder.
Below Zheng Qian, the Nine Sacred Beasts are the most powerful.
That's all for this Q&A. If you have any questions, feel free to supplement in the comments section.
