Chapter 75

Gaius was drowsy from a combination of sleeping pills and strong alcohol, but the doctor, who had been summoned by Mary upon her return to the Albert household, assured that he would recover after a few days of rest and that there would be no lingering effects. However, the next day, Gaius still felt unwell, suffering from the drowsiness of the excessive sleeping pills and a severe hangover, making it difficult for him to stand. He remained confined to the guest room of the Albert household. Similarly, Parfait, who had caught a cold after supporting Gaius and hitting Randall in the rain, was also confined to the same room.

"Is it okay for those two to share the same room?"

While pouring tea, Adi asked, and Mary casually replied, "It's fine, just leave them be." Mary's recent hobby was to serve her husband tea, which is why she took the teapot from Adi. Although she was still inexperienced and sometimes poured too vigorously, spilling tea onto the saucer, it was endearing as a new wife. After taking a sip of the tea they had poured for each other, Adi muttered, "But..." and looked up at the window of the room where Parfait and Gaius were isolated.

"Is it really okay to let those two young people share a room?"

"Gaius can't even stand because of his hangover, so it's fine. Besides, he's a serious man and wouldn't take advantage of Parfait while she's sleeping."

"Is that so?"

"At least, he's not like someone who kisses you while you're sleeping."

"If I was awake, I would have said something!"

"But I was sleeping! I was planning to tell you eventually, but if you kiss someone while they're sleeping, do it gently! If you really kiss me, I'll wake up! Actually, I might even have a nightmare of suffocating!"

"That's why you've been having bad dreams recently!?"

"Yes! Why do you look like everything just connected in your mind!?"

They shouted at each other, but then took a deep breath. Looking up at the window again, Mary repeated, "Just leave them be."

"Actually, it might be more painful for them to be separated."

Indeed, at first, Mary had prepared separate rooms for the two. The Albert household had plenty of rooms, and they were not a household that would struggle with just two sick people. They provided top-notch convalescent environments for each. However, no matter how spacious the rooms or how well-equipped the nursing staff, both Parfait and Gaius were preoccupied with each other. They constantly asked, "Is Lord Gaius doing well?" "How is Parfait's condition?" Additionally, they were so worried about whether the other was suffering that they couldn't sleep properly.

After being asked "Is Lord Gaius doing well?" "How is Parfait?" dozens of times, Mary finally gave in and suggested they share a room. Although the Albert household, with its authority and wealth, was not pleased with the idea of two guests sharing a room, this was an exception. Despite this, when Gaius heard the suggestion, he shook his head and said, "Out of the question!" — but the shock made him groan and press his head, which was typical of him. Probably, he thought that although they had reconciled, it was still just a verbal agreement, and they hadn't reported it to their parents, so sharing a room was out of the question.

Mary, seeing his serious response, sighed and smiled wryly...

"Choose: either swear not to touch her and move into the same room, or watch me break down the wall and combine the two rooms into one."

She threatened. Gaius, hearing this, hastily grabbed a pillow and rushed to Parfait's room, as expected.

Thus, the two sick people were confined to the same room. Inside the room...

"Hack... This is terrible, Lord Gaius... Hack, you, you... made me... catch a cold... Hack, made me... catch a cold..."

Parfait's complaints and coughs, in a nasal voice, and

"I'm sorry, Parfait... Ugh... I really, I'm so sorry..."

Gaius' groans and repeated apologies filled the room, creating a chaotic atmosphere. Of course, their beds were separate, and a screen was set up for privacy. However, the screen was just a thin barrier, and they could hear each other's voices, confirming that the other was safe. This is why the complaints and apologies didn't stop, but it seemed to be just right for them.

"Hack, hack... It's all your fault, Lord Gaius..."

"Yeah, I'm sorry... It's my fault, let me take it..."

"Hack..."

"Parfait?"

"...Hack..."

"Parfait, what's wrong?"

Gaius, who had been lying down, sat up. He could hear Parfait's coughs, but her complaints had stopped, which made him uneasy. Had he said something wrong? Gaius, looking worried, peeked around the screen and called out tentatively.

"Parfait, are you asleep?"

"...Lord Gaius, can I come over?"

"A, ah, sure, go ahead."

Gaius quickly tidied himself up and sat on the edge of the bed, thinking it would be rude to remain lying down. His head ached from the hang
