Returning to his room, Li Feng casually took a shower, washing away the sticky sweat from his body, and instantly felt refreshed.

Afterward, Li Feng threw the clothes he had changed out of into the washing machine. The shirt that the thug had stabbed a large hole in was obviously no longer wearable. After washing and drying the clothes, Li Feng hung them out to dry on the balcony, then collapsed onto the bed.

The series of events that had unfolded today had truly drained Li Feng of a great deal of physical and mental energy! Now, lying on the bed, Li Feng felt as if every bone and muscle in his body was rebelling, aching and sore!

From the sudden moment when the puppy spoke, to the struggle with the knife-wielding thug, and then using the mysterious X-ray vision to help the noble dog Duo treat its broken leg, these events had given the always ordinary Li Feng an unprecedented intense shock. Especially when the knife-wielding thug lunged at him with a murderous intent, Li Feng truly felt the approach of death!

But what surprised Li Feng even more was that at the moment the sharp knife pierced him, a bolt of lightning suddenly shot out from his body!

What on earth was that bolt of lightning?

"Ha—" At that moment, Li Feng yawned widely.

He was so tired! Li Feng felt an unprecedented wave of drowsiness sweep over him. He forced his eyelids open, resisting the intense drowsiness, pulled back the quilt, and climbed into bed. As soon as his head rested on a spot that wouldn't press against his wound, he couldn't hold on any longer and drifted off into a deep sleep.

Outside the window, the moon cast a cold, clear light through the very clean glass onto Li Feng's body.

Bathed in the moonlight, Li Feng's breathing was long and peaceful.

In his deep sleep, Li Feng was unaware that a beam of colorful light was slowly pouring out from the jade pendant on his chest, like flowing water, gradually enveloping his entire body.

As the light enveloped him, the slight frown on Li Feng's forehead, caused by the wound at the back of his head, gradually smoothed out, and his face took on a look of comfort. He then fell into a deep sleep, while the light grew even stronger...

...

The next morning, when the first rays of sunlight shone through the window onto Li Feng's eyes, he woke up from his deep sleep, feeling an unprecedented sense of comfort.

What a refreshing sleep!

"Hey? It doesn't hurt at all anymore?" Getting out of bed, Li Feng moved his limbs and found that his arms and thighs, which had been sore and painful the night before, were now completely free of any discomfort. Clenching his fists, Li Feng felt a surge of unprecedented strength.

"Could it be that I leveled up after defeating those two thugs last night?" Li Feng shouted, punching the air a couple of times, then laughed at himself, thinking he was overthinking it!

However, perhaps because of the heat last night, Li Feng found that he had sweated profusely, making him feel sticky and uncomfortable. So he went into the bathroom and took a comfortable shower.

After drying off and coming out of the shower, Li Feng felt refreshed and then went back to the sink to brush his teeth.

"It itches!" After brushing his teeth, Li Feng suddenly felt an itch at the back of his head. He looked at the bandage on his head in the mirror, turned his head, and saw a thin, white thread hanging from the back of his head, swaying from side to side as he moved his head.

"What is this?" Li Feng reached out and grabbed the thread, slowly pulling it out of the bandage and examining it closely. "Isn't this the thread used to stitch the wound?!"

"Could it be that the dream last night..." Li Feng shivered, suddenly thinking of something. He immediately lowered his head and began to unwrap the bandage on his forehead.

Carefully peeling off the bandage covering the wound, Li Feng gently touched the area with his finger.

"It doesn't hurt?!" Li Feng's eyes widened in shock. He carefully pressed around the area, but it still didn't hurt!

"Is it really gone?!" A look of uncontrollable shock appeared on Li Feng's face. He immediately picked up the small mirror that the two girls had accidentally left on the sink, placed it behind his head, and carefully examined it through the mirror in front of him.

"It's really gone!" Using the reflection in the mirror, Li Feng saw the smooth skin at the back of his head where a clump of hair was missing. The three-centimeter-long wound that had been there was completely gone!

"It's really true! The dream last night, it was really true?!" Li Feng clutched the mirror tightly, his face showing uncontainable joy and excitement!

It turned out that last night, while sleeping, Li Feng had a dream. He dreamed of an old Taoist who claimed to be the patriarch of the ancient Beast Taming Sect. The old Taoist said he was originally from the end of the Qin Dynasty, was later recognized by his master and led into the path of cultivation, and after a hundred years of practice, he eventually became what ordinary people called an immortal.

To understand the ultimate truth of the universe, the old Taoist would enter the world to practice every so often.

He had discussed statecraft with Emperor Wu of Han, studied the art of the Eight Trigrams and the Hidden Door with Zhuge Liang, discussed medicine and philosophy with Sun Simiao, played chess and discussed friendship with Liu Zhongfu, the top chess player of the Northern Song Dynasty, and accompanied Zheng He on his seven voyages to the West. In the past three hundred years, he had traveled to Western countries, played music and discussed ancient Chinese and Western noble etiquette with Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, and Chopin...

Li Feng didn't know why he suddenly had this strange dream about the old Taoist, but if what the old Taoist said was true, he was really... incredible!

The old Taoist said that he had already attained enlightenment and ascended to heaven a hundred years ago, but he was unwilling for his sect's teachings to be lost in the world. So, he had infused a thread of his divine consciousness into the sect's talisman, which Li Feng was wearing, hoping to pass it on to a worthy successor, and Li Feng was clearly that successor!

In his dream, Li Feng obviously didn't believe the old Taoist was real, thinking it was due to reading too many fantasy novels while looking for a job online recently.

The old Taoist seemed to see through Li Feng's thoughts and told him that the reason he could understand the puppy's speech and had gained the ability to see through illusions was because these were basic abilities granted to every disciple of the Beast Taming Sect by their elders when they entered the sect. Even the bolt of lightning that Li Feng had emitted when the thug stabbed him was due to the jade pendant's automatic protective array being triggered.

The old Taoist also said that to help Li Feng quickly enter the path of cultivation, he had used the last bit of energy in his divine consciousness to cleanse Li Feng's body, open his meridians, and heal the wound on the back of his head!

"I didn't expect it to be true!" Looking at himself in the mirror, Li Feng clenched his fists tightly!

Life is short, like the passing of a season.

A man should strive to stand out and make a name for himself in the world! Only then would his life not be in vain!

Which man doesn't want to achieve great things?

Li Feng didn't have such grand ambitions. He only wanted to find a stable job, support his not-so-well-off family, allow his parents to enjoy their golden years, and prevent his adorable sister from secretly working to earn money for her tuition. But even this wish was incredibly difficult to achieve in today's society, where everything depends on family background, money, and connections.

But now, Li Feng had a chance!

A chance to stand out!

A chance to make a name for himself!

A chance to make his entire family happy and content!

Li Feng swore that he would not let this opportunity slip away!
