Chapter 38

Before he knew it, the job fair was about to start.

That morning, Xiao Chen rarely dressed up, making himself look more spirited and tidy.

"Damn, I'm so handsome!" Xiao Chen looked at himself in the mirror and couldn't help but praise himself: "If I were a woman, I would definitely fall in love with you!"

After eating, he went to the company and started to get busy.

Although he preferred to be a hands-off manager, as the head of the security department, he couldn't afford to neglect this matter!

"Director Xiao, the applicants have started to arrive, and the formal start is at ten o'clock."

Tong Yan came, dressed formally in a standard OL outfit today.

"Good, how many people have come to apply?"

Xiao Chen's gaze swept over the white blouse that clung to Tong Yan's body, and he asked with a smile.

"According to the registration at the front desk, there are already more than sixty people, and more are still coming."

"So many?"

Xiao Chen was somewhat surprised. It's just a security job, right?

In his memory, security guards were at the bottom of the company hierarchy, and there shouldn't be many people interested in becoming a security guard!

Moreover, the quality of security guards in the country varies widely. Apart from professional security companies that provide professional security personnel, most security guards are "amateurs," even "elderly, weak, sick, and disabled."

Think about the security guards in some neighborhoods; they are usually old grandpas. If something unexpected happens, relying on these grandpas to protect the neighborhood's safety is like hoping for a superhero to drop from the sky!

"Yes."

"Then, are there no elderly, weak, sick, or disabled applicants?"

"No, the job posting already had some basic requirements... but..." Tong Yan hesitated as she spoke.

"But what?" Xiao Chen asked when he saw Tong Yan's hesitation.

"But some are just here for the fun of it."

"Fun? What do you mean?" Xiao Chen asked curiously.

"Many of the applicants have ulterior motives; they are here for... for the female colleagues in our company."

"Female colleagues?" Xiao Chen was even more puzzled.

"Yes, our Qincheng Company is known for having many beautiful women, so..."

When Tong Yan said this, Xiao Chen understood. It seems that those rich young men all want to come in to flirt!

However, thinking about the quality of the women in the company, he smiled. Beautiful women attract gentlemen, and there's nothing wrong with that!

But to come and cause trouble for Director Xiao just to flirt, that's their mistake!

"I'll handle this! Since they came, they shouldn't leave without a lesson!"

Xiao Chen grinned, called a few security guards, and whispered a few words to them.

"Yes, Director Xiao!"

The security guards nodded and ran out.

"Tong Yan, let's go and take a look."

"Sure, Director Xiao."

Xiao Chen and Tong Yan left the security department and went to the lobby downstairs. They saw the applicants chatting in groups.

At a glance, Xiao Chen indeed noticed several wealthy young men, each with smooth skin, laughing and talking loudly, and occasionally commenting on the passing OLs.

Seeing this, Xiao Chen sneered inwardly. Laugh now, but you'll be crying soon!

"Hey, beautiful, let's get acquainted? My name is Qiu Das."

Suddenly, a well-dressed young man ran up to Tong Yan, his eyes shining as if he had discovered a new continent.

"Hello."

Although she didn't want to deal with him, out of politeness, Tong Yan smiled and nodded.

"Beautiful, which department are you in? I'm about to join the security department, so we'll be colleagues soon... How about lunch together? Come, let's shake hands..."

Seeing Tong Yan smile at him, the young man felt he had a good chance and thought his luck was really great, meeting such a beautiful woman with large breasts on his first day!

Just as Tong Yan was hesitating about whether to shake hands with him, Xiao Chen spoke up.

"Ha, hello, I hope we can be colleagues, but let's skip the lunch. Thanks."

Xiao Chen smiled and shook Qiu Das's hand, applying a bit of force.

"Ouch... Let go!"

Qiu Das cried out in pain, trying to pull his hand away, but found it like a vise.

Xiao Chen smiled and released Qiu Das, sneering inwardly. Damn, trying to flirt with women in front of me, do you have the guts?

Qiu Das's cry of pain attracted the attention of many people, who looked over.

A few young men who were friends with Qiu Das gathered around, glaring at Xiao Chen.

"Ha, are you all here to apply for the security job? Let me introduce myself. I am the head of the security department at Qincheng Company and the interviewer for this recruitment, Xiao Chen!"

Xiao Chen looked at the young men and said with a smile.

Hearing Xiao Chen's words, the young men were stunned. The head of the department? The interviewer?

Even Qiu Das, rubbing his sore hand, swallowed the curse that was on the tip of his tongue.

In normal circumstances, they might not take a mere head of the security department seriously, but today was different. Didn't he just say he was the interviewer? And even if they were there to flirt, they would still have to work under him for a few days!

"Ah, it's Director Xiao, hello, hello!" Qiu Das changed his expression, forcing a smile, and then lowered his voice: "Director Xiao, we are all here to apply, and we hope we can all pass... How about we treat you to a night out, Director Xiao?"

"Right, Director Xiao, we all depend on you!" Another young man, his eyes lingering on Tong Yan's chest, said with a smile.

Xiao Chen looked at these guys and grinned: "Ha, sure, sure, I believe in your abilities..."

Hearing this, the young men felt reassured. If the interviewer said so, they would definitely get the job!

"Director Xiao, you're a good guy, we won't bother you anymore, see you tonight!"

After the young men left, Tong Yan glared at Xiao Chen: "Director Xiao, how can you do this?"

"What's wrong?"

"President Su entrusted the recruitment to you because she trusts you. How can you give them special treatment? Their intentions are not pure, and they are not qualified to be security guards!" Tong Yan said angrily.

Xiao Chen was taken aback, then laughed. This girl has a strong sense of justice!

"Ha, don't worry, I was just teasing them! To join the security department, you need to have some real skills!"

"Really?"

"Of course, I never lie to women, especially beautiful ones like you."

"..."

"Let's go, it's almost time to start."

Xiao Chen looked at his watch, scanned the hall, and a sneer formed on his lips. Treating my job fair as a dating event, just wait and see what I do to you!

As time passed, it was ten o'clock.

"Ding Li, go, let everyone in!"

Xiao Chen, sitting in the interviewer's seat, said calmly.

"Yes."

Ding Li nodded, and soon dozens of applicants followed him in.

The applicants looked curious. Shouldn't it be individual interviews? Why are they all coming in?

Qiu Das and his friends smiled at Xiao Chen. In their view, getting the job was a sure thing!

"Director Xiao, there are eighty-three applicants in total." Ding Li reported.

Xiao Chen nodded, slowly stood up, and scanned the room: "Qincheng Company is hiring twenty security guards this time, which means only one in four of you will be selected... The requirements are clearly stated in the job posting. Do you all think you meet them?"

"Meet them!"

The applicants responded in a chorus, but their eyes clearly glanced at Tong Yan, more accurately, at her chest.

"Ha, good." Xiao Chen smiled: "What is a security guard for? Come, who can tell me?"

"To protect the company's assets and the safety of the employees..." A young man in the front row said loudly.

Xiao Chen nodded: "That's right, so the first requirement is a strong physique! I called you all in for an initial selection. Those without a strong physique will be eliminated!"

The applicants looked at each other, confused.

Clap, clap.

Xiao Chen clapped his hands, and the meeting room door opened. Several security guards brought in barbells and other fitness equipment and placed them in the center.

"Fifty dumbbell squats, fifty barbell bench presses. Those who pass will move on to the next round of interviews. Start with you!" Xiao Chen pointed to Qiu Das, who was standing at the front.

Qiu Das was taken aback. He looked at the dumbbells and the barbell, and took a deep breath. He couldn't even do five, let alone fifty!

"Director Xiao, you..."

"What, want to be a security guard but don't have the physique?"

Xiao Chen looked at Qiu Das with a playful expression. These rich young men's bodies were already weakened by alcohol and women. They couldn't even do five push-ups, let alone barbell bench presses!

"Director Xiao, we had a deal..."

"What deal? Ha, if you can't do it, just leave."

Qiu Das was angry: "Who said I can't do it?" He stepped forward, bent down, and grabbed the dumbbells, starting the squats.

He didn't even make it to ten before his legs gave out, and his body swayed. The dumbbells fell on his feet, and he jumped up in pain, howling like a wolf.

"Eliminated!"

Xiao Chen's cold voice rang out.

"Kid, you..."

Qiu Das, holding his foot, was furious and wanted to lash out.

"Next!"

Xiao Chen didn't even look at him, his gaze falling on the next rich young man.

Seeing Qiu Das's fate, this rich young man's lips twitched, and he quickly decided to withdraw.

Several more rich young men followed suit, and then the real applicants started the squats and bench presses.

Xiao Chen was satisfied to see that there were indeed some capable people. With more training, they would become a formidable force, at least in Longhai!

Two hours later, out of the eighty-plus people, about half passed the initial selection and moved on to the next round of interviews.

Among those eliminated, about half were rich young men like Qiu Das.

"Old Qiu, is your foot okay?" A young man asked in a corner.

"Damn, it still hurts!" Qiu Das gritted his teeth, glaring at Xiao Chen: "This kid is playing us; we can't let him off."

"Right, when have we ever suffered such a loss?"

"Don't be careless. With so many security guards around, we'll watch from the side and look for an opportunity. If that doesn't work, we'll wait for him to finish work!"

The rich young men all nodded. This humiliation must be avenged!

"Sorry, those who were eliminated can leave now, we..."

Before Xiao Chen could finish, the meeting room door was pushed open with a bang. Ren Kun, looking arrogant, walked in, followed by Liu Da Kui and two other experts!
