"What are you doing, Jiahong!" Zhang Xun glared fiercely at Lin Yu.

"Jiahong!"

The mother-in-law also quickly tugged at Lin Yu, knowing that even as a section-level official, she and her old man, who was a deputy department-level official, were not on the same level as Deng Chengbin, and they couldn't afford to offend him.

"Oh, Brother He!"

To everyone's surprise, Deng Chengbin was not angry but delighted when he saw Lin Yu. He hurried over and said, "What a coincidence! I didn't expect to run into you here. I've been planning to visit you these past few days. The medicine you prescribed last time was truly miraculous. After taking it for two days, I felt like a completely different person."

Deng Chengbin chuckled and gave Lin Yu a thumbs up.

Everyone in the private room was stunned, staring at each other in disbelief, wondering when the useless Jiahong had befriended the deputy director of the Health Bureau, and it seemed they were quite familiar with each other.

"Since Brother He is here, I'll let you have this private room. Continue eating. I'll drink a cup to apologize for my rudeness earlier and make amends." Deng Chengbin poured a glass of wine, raised it to the group, and then drank it in one go.

He then patted Lin Yu on the shoulder and said, "Brother He, come to our private room upstairs later. I have something to ask for your help with."

"Sure, I'll come over later."

Given the respect Deng Chengbin showed him, Lin Yu couldn't refuse.

After Deng Chengbin left, the expressions of everyone in the room changed dramatically. The deputy director of the Health Bureau actually "asked" for his help.

"Oh, brother-in-law, I didn't know you knew our director. Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Zhang Xun immediately put on a flattering face, holding a glass of wine and walking over. "I spoke out of turn earlier, don't take it to heart. I'll drink a cup to apologize."

He then tilted his head back and finished the glass of wine.

"By the way, our bureau has three spots for outstanding employees this quarter, which need to be decided by Director Deng. Could you say a good word for me later?"

Zhang Xun bowed, his face full of smiles.

"I don't even have a college degree, so I doubt I can help you with such a big favor." Lin Yu continued eating, not even lifting his eyes.

Zhang Xun smiled awkwardly, at a loss for words.

"Jiahong, we're all family, so let's not speak like strangers. It was my fault earlier. If you can help your brother-in-law, your aunt, uncle, and sister will be very grateful." Jiang Yan's aunt, who had been sharp-tongued earlier, now flattered him.

"Mom, what do you think? Should I help or not?" Lin Yu suddenly turned to Li Suqin and asked.

Li Suqin's spirits lifted. She had been feeling depressed throughout the meal, but now she felt a sense of vindication.

Seeing her son-in-law asking for her opinion, she felt proud and straightened her back, giving Jiang Yan's aunt a cold look. "We're all family, Jiahong. If you can help, do it. Your aunt isn't the kind of person who forgets favors."

Li Suqin emphasized the last sentence, and Jiang Yan's aunt smiled nervously, not daring to say a word.

Lin Yu agreed to help and, as he got up to leave, glanced at Jiang Yan. She still had a cold expression, but her furrowed brows had relaxed somewhat.

This was the first time in almost two years of marriage that her useless husband had brought her some pride.

Deng Chengbin personally greeted Lin Yu when he went upstairs. The private room was already full of people. Deng Chengbin introduced the middle-aged man sitting in the middle to Lin Yu, "Brother He, this is the director of the Qinghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, Director Wei Gongxun."

"Director Wei, hello." Lin Yu quickly greeted him.

"Director Wei, this is the young doctor He Jiahong I told you about. If it weren't for him, my niece wouldn't have survived. I think he can definitely help with the old man's illness." Deng Chengbin introduced Lin Yu to Wei Gongxun.

"This young man is indeed young." Wei Gongxun nodded at Lin Yu with a smile, but he felt a bit disappointed. Deng Chengbin had said he would introduce a highly accomplished traditional Chinese medicine doctor, but he didn't expect it to be a young, inexperienced boy.

"Director Wei, don't look at Brother He's age. He is very skilled in diagnosing illnesses." Deng Chengbin strongly recommended Lin Yu to Wei Gongxun.

"Then, young man, why don't you check me out first? See if I have any problems." Wei Gongxun extended his wrist, looking at Lin Yu with a smile that carried a hint of pressure.

"Director Deng is too kind. I only have a basic understanding of traditional Chinese medicine." Lin Yu humbly replied, but his hand was already on Wei Gongxun's pulse.

"Director Wei, you are in good health, with no major issues. However, your blood pressure is a bit high, but it's not a big problem. Just be mindful of your alcohol intake." Lin Yu said.

"Young man, you have great medical skills. I bet out of ten people my age, ten of them have high blood pressure." Wei Gongxun laughed, the sarcasm in his words evident.

"Ha ha ha ha..."

The group in the private room also laughed along.

"Although Director Wei is healthy, your wife seems to have many health issues. She often experiences dizziness, weakness, and pain in her waist and legs. Even in the summer, she doesn't sweat when wearing a down jacket."

Lin Yu continued without showing any irritation.

"How do you know that?" Wei Gongxun's expression changed abruptly, and the laughter in the room stopped.

"Your wife has an extremely cold constitution, and being around her for a long time has affected you as well." Lin Yu explained.

"Can you treat her?" Wei Gongxun's voice trembled.

They had been married for thirty years, and he loved his wife dearly. Since her symptoms began two years ago, he had sought medical help everywhere, but none of the treatments had shown significant improvement.

"I can, and I can cure her, but it will take some time." Lin Yu said confidently.

"Young man, if you can cure my wife, you will be my savior. I'll drink to you!" Wei Gongxun raised his glass and drank it in one go.

"See, Director Wei, I didn't lie. Brother He is a miraculous doctor. Let him take a look at the old man's illness." Deng Chengbin was proud, as the person he recommended had never let him down.

"Brother He, do you have time tomorrow? I'll send someone, no, I'll come myself to pick you up and take you to see my father-in-law." Wei Gongxun also called Lin Yu "Brother He," impressed by his ability to diagnose his wife's condition.

"What illness does the old man have?" Lin Yu asked.

"The symptoms are simple, just a severe headache. Each episode lasts about half an hour, but during that time, it feels like he's losing half his life. Many experts have seen him, but none have been effective, not even slightly."

Wei Gongxun's expression was serious. He had lived for over fifty years and had never seen such a severe headache.

This was the reason he and Deng Chengbin were having dinner tonight, to see if they could find some experts in this field. If they couldn't, they would have to seek medical help abroad.

"Let me see the old man tomorrow and then we'll see." Lin Yu didn't want to make a hasty judgment without seeing the patient.

"Brother He, do you know who my father-in-law is? He is Zheng Jiacheng! He has offered ten million to cure this illness!" Deng Chengbin patted Lin Yu on the shoulder, his excitement evident.

Zheng Jiacheng?

Lin Yu was inwardly surprised. Zheng Jiacheng was a prominent figure in the Qinghai business world, a car magnate, and it was said that more than half of the 4S stores in Qinghai belonged to him.

"As long as Brother He can cure my father's illness, money is not an issue." Wei Gongxun nodded and smiled.

Ten million! Lin Yu felt everything brighten up. He could finally pay off his debt to Huang Mao.

When the dinner was over, Lin Yu mentioned Zhang Xun to Deng Chengbin. Without a word, Deng Chengbin pulled Lin Yu downstairs and shouted to Zhang Xun, "You, write an application for the outstanding employee award and bring it to my office tomorrow."

"Thank you, Director, thank you, Director!"

Zhang Xun bowed and thanked him repeatedly. After seeing off Deng Chengbin, he personally escorted Lin Yu and Jiang Yan's family. Jiang Yan's aunt also put on a smiling face, praising Li Suqin and Jiang Jingren for finding a good son-in-law.

The events of the evening greatly satisfied Li Suqin's vanity. She had never thought that her seemingly useless son-in-law could bring her such pride.

"Jiahong, you actually know the deputy director of the Health Bureau? I didn't know that before." Li Suqin asked excitedly.

"He came to the clinic for treatment. We've only known each other for a few days. Jiang Yan was there, and I helped him with a small favor, so he was very polite when we met." Lin Yu deliberately made it sound simple.

"Oh." Li Suqin felt a bit disappointed. She had hoped her son-in-law could climb the social ladder, but it turned out they had only known each other for a few days.

The next morning, Wei Gongxun personally came to pick up Lin Yu. After a half-hour drive, they arrived at a famous top-tier residential area in Qinghai City, where each four-story villa occupied a large area, surrounded by lawns, green plants, and pools, resembling small estates.

After going upstairs, Wei Gongxun's brother-in-law, Zheng Shifan, was already there, and he had brought a young man about Lin Yu's age, carrying a black-gray medical bag with the words "Jishitang" printed on it.

"Are you from the Song family's Jishitang in Ling'an?" Seeing the words "Jishitang," Lin Yu was slightly surprised. His old TCM professor in college often mentioned this Jishitang with admiration, even praising it as the backbone of the revival of traditional Chinese medicine.

"Yes." The young man's voice was cold. As an outstanding member of the younger generation of Jishitang, he had the right to be aloof.

"Pleased to meet you, I'm Lin... I'm He Jiahong." Lin Yu was excited to meet someone from Jishitang and extended his hand to shake hands with Song Zheng.

"Song Zheng."

The young man only glanced coldly at Lin Yu, showing no intention of shaking hands. Lin Yu awkwardly retracted his hand.

"Brother-in-law, why are you here today? Who is this?" Zheng Shifan asked Wei Gongxun.

"This is the miraculous doctor I invited to treat my father, Doctor He." Wei Gongxun deliberately praised Lin Yu, somewhat annoyed by Song Zheng's arrogant attitude.

"Ha ha, no need to trouble him. Since there's someone from Jishitang here, there's no need to invite others." Zheng Shifan didn't mean to belittle Lin Yu; he just thought that with a Jishitang expert present, others didn't need to get involved.

"Steward, give this young man ten thousand as a fee, no, since he's introduced by my brother-in-law, give him twenty thousand." Zheng Shifan turned to the old steward and instructed.

"Shifan, I think we shouldn't rush to a conclusion. Since Brother He is here, let him take a look. What if the Jishitang expert is also at a loss?" Wei Gongxun's tone was slightly displeased.

Actually, he had a personal motive, hoping that Lin Yu could cure his father-in-law's illness, which would bring him glory in front of his father-in-law and the whole family.

"There's no need. Let him go. I already know about Zheng Lao's illness before coming here. I can cure it with certainty." Song Zheng said confidently.
