Chapter 93

Next, the plot continues with Neo following the "rabbit" on a "journey to Wonderland." When he returns to the Matrix world, there will inevitably be a thrilling moment, commonly known as the climax of the story. It's like an ordinary person who has mastered an unparalleled martial art returning home in glory to show off.

When Neo reappears in the Matrix world, his attire and appearance have completely changed. The familiar black cloak finally appears, along with the cool sunglasses on his nose, making him look incredibly stylish.

Under Morpheus's lead, Neo meets the Oracle, only to be told that he is not the One. Despite knowing that the ending won't be like this, the audience still frowns, "How can this be? What will happen next?"

Unfortunately, due to the traitor's betrayal, Neo's first journey in the Matrix is met with strong resistance. Hugo Weaving, playing Smith, leads the computer police, evoking the image of the row of black-clad, sunglasses-wearing men standing outside the cinema.

"This promotion is really thorough."

Some of the plot points in this movie are indeed confusing for first-time viewers. However, thanks to the extensive promotion, everyone now finds it easy to follow, even knowing the identity of the computer police clearly.

Morpheus fights to hold off the enemy, engaging in an intense battle with Smith in a confined space, only to be captured. Seeing the effect of this scene, Laurence and Hugo Weaving both let out a sigh of relief. They haven't forgotten the pain of those injuries, but the effect is good. For an actor, isn't this what they strive for?

In this segment, Chen Tiandu repeatedly uses 0.5-second quick shots. Not only in this part, but throughout the film, the most frequently used shots are 0.5-second ones. This is quite rare in Hollywood, where the current pace is not fast.

As times progress and the internet develops, people's lives naturally become faster. The slow pace of the past gradually becomes outdated. This is especially true in the United States, and even in China, certain industries have experienced this. For example, news anchors on TV used to be required to speak 228 words per minute, but now it has increased to about 280 words per minute, reflecting the change in the pace of life.

The extensive use of 0.5-second shots is not Chen Tiandu's invention, but he is the one who places the most emphasis on this aspect in all previous films. The audience wants to watch the movie, not the production. Never challenge the audience's patience, because if they are unhappy, your movie won't sell.

After the tight rhythm of the first third of the movie, the middle part remains concise and clear. Various characters appear one after another, and the plot gradually unfolds. When editing this scene, Chen Tiandu strictly controls the timing. Even during filming, he tries to compress the actors' dialogue time, maintaining a tense yet not overly tight rhythm.

Just like writing a novel, only by mastering the frequency of the calm, small climax, and big climax can you win the audience's praise. He has always believed this, so he emphasizes the cold and powerful portrayal of the computer police Smith, making it clear that the group has no resistance and can only flee.

Thanks to Morpheus's self-sacrifice to save others, they finally escape the pursuit. But is that the end?

"No, of course not!"

In Chinese, it's called "one wave has not yet subsided, and another rises."

A small climax follows, quickly satisfying the audience's curiosity and expectations. Charlize Theron, playing the cold female police officer, finally meets Kate Beckinsale's Trinity. Like a predestined encounter, the two most beautiful female characters meeting are destined to fight—a classic female combat scene that will be remembered in film history.

This segment was directed by the great director Steven Spielberg under Chen Tiandu's story background. At that time, Chen Tiandu was injured. Despite not having much experience with action scenes, Spielberg still delivered a high level of quality with his international directorial skills.

Not only that, but the grand scenes in his shots often leave people in awe. This time, it was also shot with great grandeur and beauty.

Thus, the audience is satisfied. Kate and Charlize are also satisfied. Even with just this scene, they have not let down their efforts for these roles.

After a great effort, they finally escape, letting some of the audience breathe a sigh of relief. But is that the end?

"One wave has not yet subsided, and another rises." The traitor Cypher escapes first and returns to the ship's interior. He uses an electric shock gun to knock out the operator Tank. The group successfully finds the phone but cannot return smoothly. At this moment, one of the team members suddenly collapses and dies.

The phone rings, and it turns out that Cypher has unplugged the data connections of the others, separating their souls from their bodies, causing them to die without knowing why.

"I don't want to die like this," Su Weiqi sadly shakes her head. She didn't die at the hands of the computer police or the mechanical octopus, but tragically at the hands of a traitor, leaving the audience feeling it was not worth it.

Cypher: "Now I will prove to you that if Morpheus is right, I can't unplug Neo's jack. If Neo is the One, then some kind of magical power will come to stop me, right?" He laughs manically, "My point is, if he dies, how can he be the One? You still refuse to answer my question. Do you believe Morpheus's nonsense or not? Just one word, 'yes' or 'no.' Look into his eyes, those deep, big eyes, and answer my question..."

The tense sound effects on the big screen make it hard to breathe, a moment of extreme tension.

Trinity's eyes are filled with tears as she looks at Neo. Neo is also very nervous, fully aware that it's his turn next. However, he suddenly spreads his hands and smiles. That carefree smile suddenly eases the audience's tension. At this moment, he says, "It's okay, Trinity. I don't regret following the rabbit, and I don't regret meeting you. This is the most real part of my life. If I can only say one last thing in my life, I want to say..."

"Answer me, yes or no!" Cypher shouts.

"Yes!" Trinity softly utters a word.

"Nooooo..."

Two completely different answers represent two different outcomes. This "no" shocks the audience, leaving everyone stunned.

But what does Neo say? Is this cliché really necessary? What does Neo want to say at the end? They are very curious.

The scene shifts, explaining why Cypher says "no." Tank, with half his body burned, props himself up against the wall, holding an electric shock gun aimed at Cypher, "Believe it or not, you bastard, taste the barbecue."

A powerful electric shock eliminates the disgusting Cypher. The bad guy finally gets his just punishment, and someone in the cinema almost whistles.

Everyone's faces involuntarily show smiles, wiping their foreheads, "That was really tense."

Finally, they wake up. The ship is severely damaged, and they face the next problem. Morpheus has been captured, and the computer police will force him to reveal the Zion code. They face a choice: unplug Morpheus's jack to keep Zion's secret.

This choice is naturally rejected, and thus, the final climax of the movie finally arrives. Numerous small climaxes lead up to the last forty minutes.

"Swish~~"

In a white space, rows of neatly arranged weapon lockers are replicated.

Neo and Trinity re-enter the Matrix space, placing a bag on the scanning conveyor belt, which triggers a loud alarm. A security guard with a metal detector approaches, "Take out all the metal objects you are carrying, keys, coins..."

Neo lifts his cloak, revealing a full array of weapons.

"Oh—sh—shit!"

"Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang." The sound of gunfire fills the cinema, becoming the only rhythm. Accompanied by Hans Zimmer's composition "Beyond," the audience's adrenaline is pumped up.

"Since it's going to be thrilling, let it be thoroughly thrilling!" This is Chen Tiandu's principle. Popcorn is not important; as long as the audience who buy tickets to watch the movie are satisfied, his movie will be a success.

"Oh, my God, that's so exciting."

A chubby boy in the seat can't help but move around, not even noticing the popcorn scattered on the floor.

(Any more? Give some recommendations to let the old donkey taste it, hehe \(^o^)/~)
