Originally, Tang Changsheng had practiced for over ten years, with abundant yang energy. Even in winter, although he didn't wear a single layer, he didn't dress too warmly.
However, now, Tang Changsheng was dressed in layer upon layer, still feeling cold in his hands and feet.
He knew that the longer he refined the ghost soldiers, the more yin energy would entangle him, posing a greater threat to his health in the future.
But, he couldn't worry about that now!
As the incantation ended, an even colder chill enveloped him, making Tang Changsheng feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave...
At that moment, the pearl hanging in the meditation room suddenly reacted. A beam of light shone down, and the Eight Trigram Mirror began to glow, the light continuously flowing, the eight trigrams swirling like a vortex.
A sharp cry was heard, and a shadow was forcibly sucked out of Tang Changsheng's body by the vortex.
Just then, a thunderclap shook the tiles. The pearl in the meditation room suddenly dimmed, leaving Tang Changsheng alone in the darkness.
The moment the pearl went out, disaster was sure to follow!
Rolling thunder echoed in the sky, and a strong wind blew, causing the thick trees to sway. Raindrops began to fall almost immediately.
At some point, the sky had changed, and the light rain had suddenly turned into a heavy downpour, enveloping the entire Yin-Yang Mountain and even the entire Lower River.
"Damn, damn..." A group of thugs heading up the mountain cursed.
What a rotten place!
If they hadn't been paid a large sum and, more importantly, if it didn't take over an hour to get down the mountain, these thugs would have probably already run down!
"Brothers, let's put in some effort, we'll be at the top soon. Then we can take shelter in the temple..."
Before he could finish his sentence, the thunder drowned out the rest of his words.
"Rumble..."
The thunder continued to rumble, the sky darkening like dusk. Yet, red and white lightning tore through the sky, striking down, making everyone's hearts race.
Fortunately, the temple wasn't far. Turning a corner, they saw an ancient building with black tiles and green stones, surrounded by green pines.
On a normal day, the temple might look simple and quaint.
But in the lightning and heavy rain, the branches swayed like ghostly claws, and the temple, in the flickering light, looked almost sinister.
"I feel like this place is a bit eerie," someone whispered.
"I feel the same. Why does this old temple look so sinister?"
A few of the more timid guys were already getting nervous.
The leader cursed, "Look at you all. There's nothing sinister in this world. Humans can fly and even live longer with gene drugs almost developed. What ghosts are you talking about now? Move, smash this old temple!"
"Boss, didn't you say we should take shelter first?" a subordinate stammered.
"Shelter? A little rain won't kill anyone. Let's get this temple smashed early. I feel a chill just looking at this old temple..."
The last sentence slipped out, revealing that he too found the temple eerie and chilling.
However, the subordinates, encouraged by the leader, began to cheer.
"Brothers, we're a dozen strong men, what's there to be afraid of? It's broad daylight. Right, it's also thundering..."
Since ancient times, it has been said that thunder breaks all spells and destroys all evil. It is believed that when it thunders, the heavens are collecting evil spirits...
"Right, exactly. Even if someone is pretending, it's thundering and lightning. What's there to be afraid of!" The leader, reminded, shouted, "I don't think any evil spirits would dare come out in this storm. Brothers, let's smash it together!"
With these words, he had roused all the subordinates, who were now roaring and ready to smash the temple.
They even brought gasoline, ready to douse the temple and burn it to the ground!
After all, this was a remote mountain, and no one would see. Besides, the person who hired them was very powerful. This wasn't the first time they had done such a thing!
However, at that moment, a cry of battle was heard, startling everyone. They thought there might be an ambush...
The cry of battle grew louder, gradually turning into the roar of thousands of soldiers and the sound of slaughter.
Everyone looked at each other, and, being well-versed, they all called out in unison, "Is it a natural magnetic field?"
In many places, during thunderstorms, strange sounds, even the sounds of battle, can be heard. Some places even show the shadows of two armies fighting!
In the past, it was often said that these were the result of lingering resentment and ghosts...
But with the spread of science, it is often explained that the terrain and rocks form a magnetic field, like a tape or video, recording ancient events.
And when the conditions are right, such as during a thunderstorm, the recorded events are replayed...
This was the first thing that came to mind for everyone!
They couldn't help but look towards the source, seeing that on the ridge of Yin-Yang Mountain, the fog was thick, and countless shadowy figures seemed to be engaged in fierce combat.
"Set fire, set fire, burn them to death..." a voice shouted.
Then, the sound of fire seemed to rise, the red glow turning the fog blood-red.
After watching for a while, everyone subconsciously swallowed their saliva. Although they guessed it was a magnetic field recording an ancient battle, seeing it with their own eyes and being in such an environment made them feel extremely eerie.
If they weren't in a group, bolstering their courage and believing it was a natural phenomenon, these guys would probably have been scared out of their wits!
Even the leader couldn't help but encourage himself, "Don't be afraid, it's just a magnetic field, recording an ancient..."
Before he could finish, the fog began to move towards the ridge and the General's Temple. Shadowy figures, many of them, holding weapons, walked over.
In no time, they were close enough to see that these warriors, dressed in ancient robes and wearing yellow headbands, were holding weapons and surrounding them.
"Long-haired bandits!"
Seeing this attire, everyone immediately recognized them, their scalps tingling as they called out in unison.
