Chapter 1

A dream.

In the dream, I’m standing here alone.

All around me is an endless space of silvery darkness.

There’s no one there, there’s no sound, and I’m all alone in that space.

At first, I didn’t feel anything.

After a while, I started to dread it.

I try to walk like I’m looking for a way out.

But my body was so tangled up in something that I couldn’t move a single muscle.

There was nothing I could do about it except standing there.

I’ve been doing that for a long, long time.

At this point, nothing seemed to matter.

I don’t know why I’m here.

Why am I being kept alive in this state?

I’m just starting to think that way.

I’m wondering.

I can feel it, even in those situations.

My own heartbeat.

The trembling of my own breath.

And the nausea that comes with it.

And then at the end of the day, I think.

I wish it would go away.

I just wished all of my existence was gone.

But you know what?

I need to remember.

I wish it would go away, and at the same time, my last thought is that I want to remember it.

Your pretty laugh.

Your gentle smile.

The warmth of your body.

Your soft hands.

Everything about you will save me from despair.

Hey, do you know?

You are my shining dawn.

It’s the dawn that lights up this silvery darkness.

It would be nice if I could kidnap you and keep you locked up beside me.

If I wasn’t a person.

If you weren’t a nobody.

I would’ve kidnapped you in a heartbeat.

But that’s not going to happen.

In this silvery, dark world.

I want it to break apart.

I want it to shatter into a million pieces and be gone without a trace.

I want to be with you.
