After finishing the math exam, Bian Xuedao's college entrance exam was no longer in doubt.

Seeing Bian Xuedao walk into the house with a relaxed face, his parents felt much better.

After dinner, Bian Xuedao took a walk around the neighborhood, reviewed the three liberal arts textbooks according to the key points he had marked, and went to bed before 10 PM.

On the morning of July 8th, the liberal arts comprehensive exam was held, and the English exam was in the afternoon.

Bian Xuedao did quite well on the liberal arts comprehensive exam. In the afternoon, during the English exam, he found that he had overestimated his English level. Fortunately, he had watched a lot of American TV shows and original movies, and listened to a lot of English songs, so his English sense was still good.

He went through the listening, multiple-choice, cloze, and reading comprehension sections without using too much time.

He had prepared for the essay in advance, finding a similar model essay and memorizing it thoroughly.

With more than 30 minutes left before the exam ended, Bian Xuedao saw Dong Xue place her test paper on the table, stand up, and signal to the invigilator that she was ready to submit.

She was the first to submit in the entire exam room.

Bian Xuedao looked at Dong Xue's back in confusion and noticed that her steps were a bit weak. Sure enough, after a few steps, Dong Xue suddenly collapsed on the ground with a thud.

The invigilator standing at the back of the classroom loudly stopped the other candidates who wanted to stand up to see what was happening. The invigilator at the front helped Dong Xue up and placed her on a chair, then went out to find a mobile invigilator.

Bian Xuedao checked his answer sheet, packed up his things, placed his test paper on the table, and signaled to the invigilator that he was also ready to submit.

As he walked past Dong Xue, he saw that her face was as pale as paper and asked her in a low voice, "Can you walk?"

Dong Xue nodded when she saw it was Bian Xuedao.

Bian Xuedao picked up Dong Xue and carried her out of the classroom in big strides.

The invigilator, leading a mobile invigilator, was running over and saw Bian Xuedao carrying Dong Xue, shouting loudly, "What are you doing?"

Bian Xuedao, holding Dong Xue anxiously, asked the invigilator, "Where is the medical point? I'm her classmate, and I've finished my exam."

The mobile invigilator led Bian Xuedao to the medical point, and the invigilator returned to the classroom.

At the medical point, Dong Xue was in so much pain that she could hardly speak. The doctor asked her a few questions and then had the school contact the 120 ambulance waiting outside.

Bian Xuedao didn't want to wait a minute. He asked where the 120 ambulance was waiting and carried Dong Xue out. The parents waiting outside the school gate didn't know what had happened; they only saw a boy carrying a girl running to the ambulance at the side door.

While running, Bian Xuedao asked Dong Xue, "What's your home phone number? Tell me, I'll notify your family." After putting Dong Xue in the ambulance, Bian Xuedao quickly ran to the small supermarket of No. 4 High School and called Dong Xue's home.

The phone was answered.

"Hello, is this Dong Xue's home? Auntie, hello, I'm Dong Xue's classmate, my name is Bian Xuedao. Dong Xue is not feeling well, I just took her to the ambulance at No. 4 High School... No, no, it's not serious, she might not have slept well or was too nervous. Yes, yes, please come over. What? Uncle Dong is waiting at the gate? What is Uncle Dong wearing? ... Okay, don't worry, I'll go to the gate to find Uncle Dong."

After hanging up the phone, he ran to the gate of No. 4 High School and was immediately overwhelmed. From the school gate to the opposite street, it was full of parents waiting for their children. Dong Xue's mother had said that Dong Xue's father was wearing dark blue trousers and a white short-sleeved shirt, which was a very common outfit.

Bian Xuedao thought about shouting, "Who is Dong Xue's father?" but turned around and saw two serious-looking school security guards standing on either side of a sign that read "No Loud Talking," one of whom was staring at him intently.

Looking at his white T-shirt, he thought he had no choice but to resort to this method.

Bian Xuedao ran back to the small supermarket and bought a black marker pen. He took off his shirt and wrote "Dong Xue's Father" in large letters on it. He ran to the school gate bare-chested, holding the T-shirt high with both hands. Being tall and standing on the curb, Bian Xuedao was confident that if Dong Xue's father was nearby, he would definitely see it.

Sure enough, a middle-aged man walked over and looked at Bian Xuedao without saying a word. Bian Xuedao put down the shirt and asked, "Are you Dong Xue's father from No. 1 High School?"

The man said, "Yes."

Bian Xuedao asked, "Are you from Class 3-4?"

The man was taken aback and said, "Class 3-7."

Bian Xuedao said, "I'm Dong Xue's classmate. Uncle, please follow me. Dong Xue is not feeling well and is resting inside."

Bian Xuedao explained the situation to the security guard at the gate and led Dong Xue's father to the ambulance.

From the few questions the doctor asked Dong Xue, Bian Xuedao guessed that she might have menstrual cramps. Since Dong Xue's father had arrived, he didn't feel it was appropriate to stay.

Wearing the T-shirt with "Dong Xue's Father" written on it, Bian Xuedao rode his bike through the streets, looking like a young artist performing a behavior art piece, attracting a lot of attention.

On July 10th, the school notified the students to return to school to announce the answers to the college entrance exam, estimate their scores, and start filling out their college applications.

The blackboard was roughly divided into four areas. The homeroom teacher handed the paper with the standard answers to the class president, who copied them onto the blackboard.

In the classroom, only the sound of chalk on the blackboard could be heard; no student spoke. Those who had managed to bring their answers out of the exam room carefully compared them, while those who hadn't either scratched their heads trying to remember or looked indifferent.

After the class president finished copying, he handed the answer sheet to the homeroom teacher, who compared it with the answers in his hand and then told everyone that the college application forms would be distributed soon, and they should come to fill them out on the morning of the 15th.

The classroom suddenly burst into noise.

"How did you do? How many points did you get?"

"Damn, I only got 6 out of 12 in the math multiple-choice..."

"Finished, I got one of the big questions wrong in the comprehensive exam..."

"Damn, is this the answer for the listening? I heard it clearly, why is it wrong?"

Bian Xuedao didn't care much about the other subjects and kept his eyes on the math answers on the blackboard.

Multiple-choice, all correct, 60 points.

Fill-in-the-blank, 3 correct, 12 points.

Total math score: 72 points.

Bian Xuedao looked up at Zhou Hang, who was also looking at him. They smiled at each other.

Estimated total score: 525!

He didn't count some of the uncertain questions, but the score he estimated was still more than 10 points above the first-tier university admission line. This result made Bian Xuedao very satisfied. If this had been his score in his previous life, he would have jumped for joy, but now he wouldn't.

To Bian Xuedao, the college entrance exam was more about giving his parents, who expected him to succeed, a satisfactory result. With this score, his parents could hold their heads high in front of their relatives and friends. Bian Xuedao felt that he had completed his first task after being reborn.

He planned to calm down and carefully consider his future path.

The college entrance exam was like this: some were happy, some were sad. Since it was the first year of the "3+X" system, many students lacked experience, and quite a few performed poorly.

Dong Xue never came, and a girl who lived near her helped her copy the answers.

Zhou Hang estimated his score to be 610, and Bian Xuedao congratulated him heartily.

After returning home, he told his parents about his estimated score, and they were overjoyed. Bian's mother specially went out to buy some dishes, and Bian's father, for the first time, let Bian Xuedao drink with him. They each had three bottles of beer that night.

After much thought, Bian Xuedao decided to apply for the International Trade program at Dongsen University as his first choice, which was Xu Shangxiu's major in his previous life. His idea was simple: since he could get into a first-tier university this time, he shouldn't just be content with being in the same school as Xu Shangxiu; he should be closer, in the same major, attending classes together, which would make it easier to interact and open up opportunities earlier.

As for whether to choose a better school or a better major with this score, Bian Xuedao didn't even consider it. His years of social experience told him that for most people, a liberal arts major was almost the same as having no major. What mattered for employment were the 985 and 211 labels. Dongsen University wasn't a 985, but it was a 211, which was enough for Bian Xuedao, who already had a rough life plan.

Moreover, Bian Xuedao was most familiar with Songjiang City.

He knew the city's personnel changes, urban expansion plans, commercial development, and subway routes for the next ten years. To fully utilize this foresight to make money, Songjiang was the best choice. Going to college elsewhere and then returning to Songjiang to start a business would be too much trouble. Even if Songjiang's air pollution became severe and unsuitable for living in ten years, he could always move to another city after making enough money.

If he really became wealthy, he could even immigrate.

Therefore, there was no need to change the city or the school; he would choose the International Trade program at Dongsen University.
