C50 Part3

....

In the bedroom, there was only a Palace lantern in the corner of the wall, and the dark red light and shadow flowed silently, blurred and hazy.

Murong Ci leaned on the big pillow to read, yawning from time to time.

Ruyi persuaded:

"Your Royal Highness, you have been tired these few days, so rest early today."

It was still early, but Murong Ci was so sleepy that her upper and lower eyelids were fighting to stay open.

She put down the book and lay down to sleep.

Suddenly, the internal organs hurt a little.

'Didn't Murong Yu heal her internal injuries before?

Could it be that he did something secretly?'

However, the pain disappeared after a while.

Ruyi tucked the thin quilt for His Highness, put down the jade-colored gauze curtain, went out gently, and sat down on the Palace brick floor at the entrance of the Sleeping Hall.

She was on duty today.

She had to be there to guard, in case His Highness got up in the middle of the night and needed her.

So she had to be there and wait vigilantly.

In the dim of the night, she seemed to hear a soft "squeak" and woke up suddenly.

The shadow shook quickly, and she was about to get up, but felt a numbness over her body, and then fainted and didn't know anything.

"Who.....?"

Her voice was sharp and powerful, without any panic, before she fainted.

Murong Ci, who had just fallen asleep, heard a soft noise and suddenly woke up, getting out of bed neatly, full of vigilance and alertness.

In the dim light and shadow, she stared at the front with wide eyes.

A dark shadow slowly emerged from the dimness.

That sharp and cliff-like handsome face seemed to gather the light of the moon, shining bright like the snow and relieving the human's hearts.

All the dim shadows were retreated in front of such majestic light.

Even if it wasn't an assassin, she didn't relax at all, but stared at him sharply with cold eyes.

'Damn Murong Yu!

He came to the East Palace again at night and went straight into my bedroom!

What do you think of my bedroom?

A brothel where you can come and go at will?'

Murong Yu walked up to her grandiosely, draped in starlight, moonlight and mystery, with his black gold-embroidered python robe that was a little unruly and unrestrained under the cover of the night.

"Scared?"

He seemed to be smiling but not smiling, with a slight pleasure on the corners of his lips, as if he was satisfied with her reaction as the consequence of his arrival.

"The dignified Royal King climbed the window late at night and trespassed into other people's sleeping quarters.

If this spreads out, won't the Royal King's reputation be ruined?"

Murong Ci sneered sarcastically.

"Well, in that case it won't be just this King who is spreading his reputation.

Maybe this King will be safe and sound, while other people suffer the rumors."

He raised his sword-like eyebrows lightly, and his voice was deep,

"Besides, it's not about 'climbing windows', but rather 'liking the height of the windowsill', that is..."

She gritted her teeth silently, and suddenly smiled,

"The Prince Regent came here at night, so what's the urgency?"

Murong Yu said:

"Your Highness, let me see if the internal injury is healed."

'He really did some tricks!'

She calmly said:

"Regent, don't bother it!

This Prince is all right now."

His eyes flicked, and the evil air swirled,

"Your Highness, didn't you feel a faint pain in the internal organs tonight?"

Just as Murong Ci was about to deny it, at the right time, the viscera started hurting again in a vague way,

"......No."

He raised his eyebrows unpredictably, and suddenly clasped her wrist, drawing her slender fingers into his palm.

She withdrew her hand angrily,

"You don't need to worry about the affairs of this Prince.

I'm about to rest, so the Regent should leave now!"

"When this King healed Your Highness today, I accidentally hurt your viscera, and came to remedy it."

Murong Yu spoke calmly, with a pleasant atmosphere.

※※(N.B.) I know I should have written this earlier, but I would like to do a "little" explanation of Names, First Person(I) & Second Person(You) Honorifics in this manhua and novel:

★★ Murong Ci, Murong Yu, and everyone refer to others in various ways (Second Person Honorifics). For example, Murong Ci calls him in various ways: Murong Yu, Prince Regent, Royal King, ...

-慕容彧 (Mùróng Yù - Murong Yu) - When she's angry or emotional in general, she'd call his full name "Murong Yu";

-王爷 (Wáng Yé - Prince Regent) - When she's talking about internal political matters, she'd call him with a general formal "Prince"(but since everyone in the Royal Palaces are princes in this story we translate this as "Regent") so "Prince Regent";

-御王 (Yù Wáng - Royal King) - When referring to him seen from the outside of the country point of view, and a little ironically, she'd call him like they call him "The Royal King".

-你(Nǐ - You) - In ancient China referring to Royalty with a direct "You" is very rude and impolite. So when Murong Ci uses it, it means she's either angry with him or speechless and goes "Y-Y-You!!!". However after referring to him with others words first, it's possible to use "You" in the middle of a sentence.

Murong Yu on the other hand, also calls her in various ways: Prince, Crown Prince, His Highness, His Royal Highness, Murong Ci, Ci'er, A'Ci, ...

-慕容辞 (Mùróng Cí - Murong Ci) - Her full name. He might be a bit ironic when he calls her full name I believe;

-太子殿下 (Tàizǐ Diànxià - His/Your Royal Highness the Crown Prince) - This is the full title, which if literally translated would be very long! So I put it usually as a shorter "His Royal Highness";

-殿下 (Diànxià - His Highness), a general "His Highness" which could be used referred to any Royal members other than His Majesty the Emperor or the Empress. In general all son Princes or Princesses are referred to as this both in Chinese and Japanese;

-太子 (Tàizǐ - Crown Prince or Prince) a shorter version for Crown Prince or simply Prince (but the Prince who will inherit the throne);

-辞儿 (Cí'er - Ci'er, Ci Lovely/Little/Dear/Darling m/Sweetheart) - A friendly, intimate and close way of calling a beloved one (especially used between family members to show bond and love). Very similar to the Japanese honorific for /-chan/;

-阿辞 (Ā'Cí - A'Ci - Darling/Honey/Sweetheart Ci), a very intimate way of calling your lover or fiancé or darling/honey. This will be the final way of how Murong Yu will call her in the future.

★★ As for first person honorifics when referring to themselves with "I":

-本王 (Běn Wáng - This King) - Literally translates in "My Honorable self" or "This Honorable King of mine". It's the first person honorific used by Murong Yu when referring to himself. It is a very domineering way of referring to himself, usually used by strong male characters belonging to the Royal Family.

It is very similar to the Japanese /Ore/ but in Royal version! In sentences it is translated and shortened to a simple "This King". It's funny because even if the character is not a king but a prince, they can still use it!

-本宮 (Běn Gōng - This Prince , This Princess, This Consort) - This honorific is used by both male and females of the Royal Family, especially by direct descendant of the Emperor and High rank Consorts/Concubines.

So this is used for example by Murong Ci as her main first person honorific, and I translate it in a simple "This Prince". The literal translation would be "This Palace" in which Palace refers to the Royal Palace, so literally "This Honorable Royal Palace member" or "My Honorable self".

The same goes for Princess Zhaohua that uses this honorific when referring to herself to others. I usually translate her honorific as "This Princess". However when talking to her dad she would say "This minister" or "This daughter (of yours)" instead.

Finally, Concubine Xiao also uses this honorific to refer to herself since she's the Highest rank Consort/Concubine in the Harem.

I usually translate her honorific as "This Consort/Concubine".

There are still many other honorifics, for the first person "I", which very rarely use the simple and plain 我(Wo - I) which is in modern China the plain "I" when referring to themselves.

Well, that's it for now. Although we reached ch50, and the second arc is basically finished, I decided to keep writing in this book at least until ch100, and then divide the book in three, as in the original Chinese version. Actually, officially, The Blood Jade arc ends with ch51, but the main story of this arc is already finished, and so, anyway, I"m blabling here.....So see you in arc 3!

GET REEEEAAAAADY!
