Chapter 75

I stood at the designated spot in the arena's stands, which were far from friendly, and this is Yurii.

Following Fol's efficient preparation for treatment, I opened the first aid kit.

Thinking about what treatment I could do, I first used magic to thoroughly clean the area around the two chairs I would use as my base, then dried and disinfected it with alcohol. I washed my hands with water and disinfected them with alcohol, then set up disinfectant, cotton, tissues, a tray, and tweezers on the chair closer to me. I also placed a trash can under the chair. Because the space was narrow, I left the other items in the first aid kit on the other chair, to be used as needed. I would adjust the setup as I went along. Finally, I opened the first aid manual to the basic treatment page and set it on top of the first aid kit, completing my preparations.

I felt like a health committee member at a sports day.

Come on, bring it on!

"...You're more prepared than I expected."

"Then I'll leave it to you."

Just as I thought that, I was checked by a medical team member who wasn't Fol, and one by one, knights from the external security team were directed to me. They all looked to be in their late teens to early twenties, around Alf's age or a bit older.

Before I knew it, a line of about five people waiting for disinfection had formed.

A few people were also being treated by Fol, who was a few chairs away.

As long as I follow the notes, it should be okay, right?

Since they were wearing full metal armor, the main task was to disinfect visible cuts and scrapes. Some people were sent to me for disinfection after receiving other treatments, so there were quite a few of them!?

I checked the location of the wounds, washed them with a small ball of water, and disinfected them with the medical team's special disinfectant. If the area around the wound was visibly bruised, I applied a bruise ointment, avoiding the wound itself. Depending on the location, I might apply a bandage, but generally, I just left it as is.

I had the patients sit in the chair two seats away from my base, and if necessary, they would take off their sandals and climb onto the adjacent chair for disinfection. It was quite a bit of work.

I repeated this process, but the line for disinfection never seemed to end. Thanks to this, I gradually got the hang of it. I was already diligently disinfecting without getting up from my chair.

The training continued in the arena, with the sound of metal clashing everywhere. Shouts of commands, curses, and encouragement echoed through the air, along with various other sounds. The training was so intense that it was almost like a real battle, and injuries were just a step away. However, there was no time to watch the training leisurely.

In the midst of this, I felt something off about a boy I was disinfecting. I observed him while disinfecting to figure out what was wrong.

...This boy is clearly favoring his left arm, isn't he?

"...Big brother, can you do a victory pose?"

"Huh?"

"Victory pose."

Although it was sudden, I decided to ask just to be sure.

The boy made a very displeased face and showed no intention of complying.

"Alright, that's enough."

As the boy stood up with a frown, I grabbed his left arm instinctively.

He let out a stifled groan.

This is definitely it.

"Fol, this big brother is injured!"

"Oh?"

"I'm not injured!"

When I informed Fol, the boy hurriedly denied it.

Instead of Fol, who was treating someone, a doctor in a white coat who was standing a bit away came over.

"This one?"

"His left arm is favoring."

"But I'm not injured...!"

When I pointed out the suspicious area, the boy visibly panicked.

Ignoring him, the doctor took the boy's left arm and he gritted his teeth.

Without hesitation, the doctor removed the gauntlet and rolled up the sleeve, revealing a swollen, bruised area between the elbow and wrist.

It was definitely an injury, and a serious one at that.

"It's not a big deal. What do you call an injury if this isn't one?"

"Doctor Grain, over here."

The doctor, who had just finished examining the injury, was relieved by Fol, who had just finished treating someone.

The treatment of the boy began, but I couldn't just stand there worrying.

I realized the line for disinfection had suddenly grown much longer! (Gabin)

I had no choice but to hurriedly resume the disinfection process.

As I frantically worked through the line, the training ended, and the lower floor transitioned to stretching and cleanup. Finally, I could see the end.

After finishing the disinfection of the last person, I took a deep breath and finally noticed the surroundings.

The seriously injured boy from earlier was fainting next to Fol, who was smiling.

H-he looks like he's breaking out in a cold sweat?

"...Fol?"

"It's over. Good job, Yurii."

"The big brother...?"

"Yeah, he was saying he wanted to get back to training even though he had let his injury worsen, so I treated him with a special medicine."

"Is it really medicine?!"

I couldn't help but interject, and Fol's smile deepened.

"It's medicine. It heals quickly, but it doesn't suppress the pain much. We prescribe it to overzealous... team members. I'll give him painkillers after the training, so don't worry."

Fol, you were definitely about to say "overzealous." You're quietly angry. Scary.

Still, this is a bit pitiful.

I climbed down from the chair, put on my sandals, and went down the stairs to the boy, then took off my sandals again and climbed onto the adjacent chair to wipe the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief from my pocket.

"Kid..."

"Just a little more, okay?"

Sorry, kid. I don't have any painkillers. I can't ease your suffering.

The most I can do is a child's magic spell.

"Fly away, pain, fly away!"

I look like a child. I probably won't get strange looks for doing this.

Still, out of a bit of modesty, I closed my eyes instinctively.

Only innocent children or their mothers can do this with such seriousness and confidence.

"...Huh?"

At the curious voice, I opened my eyes to see the boy blinking.

Does this spell not exist in the Magic Continent?

"It's a spell to ease the pain."

"...Wow, kid. It does feel less painful now."

After explaining what I did, the boy, who was in pain, showed a faint smile for the first time.

Oh, his smile is cute with his buck teeth.

"Get better soon and keep working hard."

"...Yeah. There's a lot more training to come."

I smiled back, and the boy patted my head with his right hand. I wiped the sweat from his forehead again.

"Then I'll go help with the cleanup."

"Alright. Thanks."

Feeling a bit relieved that the boy's pained expression had eased, I struggled to move the chairs and returned to the first aid kit to help with the cleanup.

...Wait, the others are already done with the cleanup?!

Feeling the odd gazes of the others, I hurriedly joined in the cleanup.

It's embarrassing, so I won't do it again...
