I apologize for the delay.

And, though it's a bit late, Happy New Year.

Please have a good year.

Two days later...

"Master... This is the best koppel bread I can make right now!!"

Verdana offered the plate.

On it was the freshly baked koppel bread.

Verdana's body was in tatters.

It was probably due to the rigorous training over these two days.

Her chef's uniform was torn to shreds, and for some reason, the sleeves from her shoulders were ripped to pieces.

For some reason, her eyes had become abnormally large, and her short hair had grown long, swaying even indoors.

It seemed, for some reason, that the outlines of her figure looked unusually thick.

On the other hand, Pafemia, to whom the bread was offered, nodded importantly.

The young girl of the Red Wolf clan, sitting like a sage in the kitchen, sniffed the bread, tore a piece to check its softness and cross-section, and finally put it in her mouth.

Immediately after, Pafemia looked down.

After crossing her arms importantly—

"It's good enough..."

She nodded once.

"Verdana, I have nothing more to teach you."

"M-Master! Is that true?"

"Have I ever lied to you—no, to my disciple?"

"No, you haven't! So, it really is..."

"Yes. You've done well—no! You've done a great job, Verdana!!"

"Master!"

"Verdana!!"

They both had tears in their eyes.

Finally, they embraced each other tightly.

Between them, a strong bond of master and disciple could be felt.

Beyond them, a hot, crimson sunset seemed to be visible.

"But, I really have improved, haven't I, Verdana-san, without any flattery."

"Y-Yeah. When you say it so straightforwardly, I feel more confident."

"Yeah. But—"

The one who has grown the most is Sharon, though.

In the kitchen, a little distance away from the two, they turned their eyes to Sharon, who was cooking.

The small saint was using a step stool to make bread.

But it wasn't just any bread.

It was decorative bread.

Windmills, a church.

A river made of chocolate dough with a bridge over it.

It was like a miniature Neuvillette.

That wasn't all.

Around it were lined up various kinds of bread: butter rolls, melon bread, sliced bread, bagels, baguettes, croissants, and more.

Each was carefully baked, giving off a fragrant aroma.

The sheer quantity was overwhelming, completely overshadowing the smell of the koppel bread Verdana had just made.

"S-Sharon... What are you doing?"

Sharon was completely serious.

So focused on her work that she didn't even react to Pafemia's voice.

It seemed she was in the process of sticking one piece of bread to another.

She was dropping melted wax between the pieces of bread, almost like welding.

"There. Done. Phew... That was tough."

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Sharon smiled broadly.

In response to her smile, Pafemia and Verdana couldn't help but grimace.

Sharon's growth rate was incredible.

After perfectly replicating Pafemia's koppel bread on her first try, she started making all sorts of things on her own.

And they were all delicious.

They were at a professional level, the kind that would undoubtedly be a success if she opened a bakery.

However, it seemed she had no intention of doing so.

Naturally.

Sharon's role was clearly defined: to guide the chosen hero with her prophetic powers.

But it was a shame to leave such talent as just a hobby.

"Master... I'm starting to lose confidence. When I see that..."

"D-Don't worry, Verdana-san. Your strength is your energy."

"That's you! ...But anyway, I'll give it a try. Thanks, Pafemia, Saint."

"Do your best, Verdana!"

"I'll support you!"

And so, the new Verdana and the new 'Our Bakery' began.

The next day.

After clearing a quest for the first time in a while, Pafemia and Sharon were on their way back from the guild to the inn when they visited the park.

The idols were performing on the stage in the park, dancing and singing.

"Amazing. I wonder if they've been performing on the stage while we were training in bread-making."

"I think they do take some breaks, but they must work really hard, these idols."

Sharon, who had met them once at the palace, was also impressed.

As usual, there were many spectators around.

Cheers were flying around.

Most of them were women.

"Don't they seem to have increased?"

"Yes, they do."

"They're so popular. Verdana's shop used to be that popular, too."

"Oh?"

Sharon noticed something.

She saw a person standing with their arms crossed, watching the idols dance.

She thought she recognized them, and it was indeed Mysteltainn.

"Mysteltainn-sama?"

Noticing Sharon's voice, Mysteltainn approached.

"My, my, Lady Sharon, you look lovely."

As usual, he kissed the back of her hand.

"It's rare to see you here, Mysteltainn-sama. Are you interested in idols?"

"Or are you thinking of becoming one? You'd fit in, Mysteltainn. You have the stamina and you're cool."

Pafemia stated confidently.

Sharon, standing next to her, scolded her, but Mysteltainn didn't mind.

"I'm not planning to join. But I do find them fascinating."

"Hmm. By the way, is it okay for you to be here, Mysteltainn?"

"What do you mean, hero?"

"Starting today, 'Men's Bakery' is reopening, right? Verdana has definitely improved his bread-making skills. The shop might be swamped right now."

"Well, we'll see about that."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"The world isn't just about quality, Lady Saint."

He muttered something profound.

Then he turned back to the idols and started watching the stage again.

After parting ways with Mysteltainn, Pafemia and Sharon, curious, decided to check out 'Men's Bakery.'

The shop was on the way back to the inn.

The sun was about to set behind the mountains, and the sky was turning a deep crimson.

The glow of magic light was leaking out from the windows facing the dim alley.

They had expected the shop to be full of customers, but it was the opposite.

'Men's Bakery' was deserted.

"It must have sold out."

Pafemia approached cautiously.

However, the display case was filled with bread.

Verdana must have been very enthusiastic about the reopening, making more than usual.

Despite the extra effort, it was a complete failure.

"H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H
