Chapter 24

Thank you very much for the 25th place in the daily high fantasy ranking!

As Tex and the other guards took the lead, Reda rushed into the depths of the forest, where she found the remains of monsters and people lying on the ground.

"Hey, are you okay!? Brother, I'm counting on you!"

"Understood! Bring the people with the worst injuries over here!"

Reda and Mina quickly spread a clean sheet on the open ground. Soon, Tex brought over a teenager who was still in his mid-teens. The teenager's arm had been half torn off.

(This is bad... I'm glad it's not a complete amputation.)

Reda had never treated a limb amputation before. While her "Heal" spell, which has an effect equivalent to "Great Heal," might be able to cure it, she didn't want to try it in such a critical situation.

"Reda, are you okay?"

"Yeah, no problem! Mina, can you boil some water?"

"Sure!"

"Sorry, but can someone stay with Mina?"

"Sure! I'll do it!"

Considering the worst-case scenario, Reda had an adventurer stand near Mina before turning to the injured.

"Hey, hey, stay with me. This brother is going to heal you, see? Don't fall asleep."

Reda knelt next to Tex, who was desperately trying to keep the teenager conscious, and placed her hands over the wound.

"--- Heal"

"Wow, this is amazing."

Tex marveled as the wound on the teenager's arm rapidly healed. Reda continued to cast "Heal" until the teenager was fully recovered. Within a minute, the teenager's wound was completely healed, his breathing stabilized, and his color returned. Although the blood he had lost wouldn't come back, he was now out of danger.

"Reda, the water is ready."

"Thank you. Can you wipe the blood off this boy's arm?"

"Sure!"

Mina nodded firmly and immediately began wiping the blood off the teenager's arm with a wrung-out towel. Meanwhile, more injured people were being brought to Reda.

"Brother, the next one is this guy."

Next, a well-built man was laid down, his body torn from his shoulder to his abdomen by a hook claw. When he saw Reda, he looked visibly troubled and weakly shook his head.

"I don't have the money to see a healer... my family will end up on the streets... just use a potion and take me to a doctor."

"Don't be ridiculous. You won't make it to town with this wound. You'll end up putting your family on the streets, you idiot! Besides, this healer was brought by the guild, so they won't charge you an exorbitant amount!"

"Really?"

"Don't worry about the money. Let's heal your wound first."

Without waiting for a response, Reda cast "Heal." The wound healed rapidly, and she treated the man without leaving any scars.

"Wow, brother... I've seen healers before, but the speed of healing is different. You've got the better skills, brother."

"Thank you. Mina! This one too!"

"Sure!"

After treating the second person, Reda wiped the sweat from her forehead and caught her breath. Healing magic is quite draining, requiring concentration and causing fatigue. She still had some energy left, but it was a significant task.

(Maybe this is more challenging than being an adventurer and exploring dungeons.)

Most importantly, other people's lives were at stake, which made her nervous.

"Here, the third one. From now on, they're all minor injuries!"

"Understood. Please come over here!"

Reda then healed the injured one by one, treating those with fractures, lacerations, and bruises. It didn't take long for her to heal everyone.

"... Phew. That's everyone. I'm pretty tired."

The severely injured were still lying down, as their lost stamina hadn't returned. The guards were preparing a cart for them to ride back to town. The less severely injured, after thanking Reda, were already moving around, checking their recovered bodies.

As she watched them, Reda wiped the blood from her arms with a hot towel that Mina had brought.

(I'm glad I could fulfill my responsibility.)

She hoped that her first day of the guild's request would end smoothly. Praying that there wouldn't be a second monster attack, Reda took a moment to rest.
