Lady Oline glared at me until the very end as she left the venue.
Phew, I feel somewhat relieved now.
As I was thinking about this, music started to play in the venue. It seems to be a dance tune, but... I’m so tired, maybe I should just go home.
If I were to dance, it would be with Crown Prince Lewis, but I have no desire to dance with him.
"Asaria, aren’t you going to dance? I specially chose you."
Huh? Why is he looking down on me like that? The audacity of Crown Prince Lewis to say he "chose" me after what just happened is quite something.
"I’m sorry, but I have no intention of dancing with Crown Prince Lewis after he has been in contact with other women."
"What!? Asaria! How far are you going to take this disrespectful attitude!?"
"How can you say that when you invited other women to the party while having a fiancée?"
"What...! Asaria, that’s enough!"
Crown Prince Lewis roughly grabbed my wrist and stood in front of me.
"Let go, Crown Prince Lewis."
"You’re being rude. Don’t push your luck."
"Let me warn you, Crown Prince Lewis. If you don’t want to get hurt, let go."
"Get hurt? What can you possibly do?"
He has no intention of letting go, treating me as if I’m weak just because I’m a woman, and feeling superior because of his strength. But when did he ever think I was weak?
"I warned you."
I activated my magic, surrounding my body with flames.
"What!?"
Crown Prince Lewis was shocked by the flames around me. I also made small flames appear on the part of my wrist he was holding, burning the surface of his hand.
"Ah, ah!?"
Crown Prince Lewis let out an undignified scream and retreated. As I created a sphere of flames around me, I glared at him.
"I am Asaria Jill Spencer, of the Spencer Dukedom, one of the four great dukes who support the empire. Don’t even think about trying to force me to submit with your strength."
The various nobles around us reacted differently to my flames.
"That’s the power of the Spencer Dukedom, known to be the strongest among the four...!"
"They say he can take down a magical beast with one hit, and it’s truly impressive."
"Miss Asaria has that much power at eighteen!?"
Since the power of the Spencer Dukedom is well-known and I clearly have full control over it, no one is screaming in terror.
However, I didn’t expect to have such control. Indeed, just before my regression, I often fought magical beasts, which is why I became so skilled with magic.
But two years ago, at eighteen, I was supposed to marry into the royal family, so I didn’t practice magic much.
Since I still have the magic power from before my regression, that’s a good thing.
"Crown Prince Lewis, I’m leaving. I’ll think about the engagement."
"Wait, Asaria!"
As I heard Crown Prince Lewis’s voice, strained from the pain, I left the party venue.
Before my regression, I was just a supporting character to highlight Crown Prince Lewis and Lady Oline. But now that I’ve regressed, I won’t play that role anymore.
I’ll never forget the smile on Lady Oline’s face when she had me sentenced to execution. I have no intention of letting her mock me like that again.
In fact, I want to smile and trap them like a villainess.
But now that I’ve regressed, while revenge is an option, I also want to enjoy my life. Before, I was devastated when Crown Prince Lewis broke off our engagement and became reckless.
I want to have more fun and, although I never had romantic feelings for Crown Prince Lewis, I want to fall in love this time.
Being broken up with doesn’t hurt me anymore; in fact, I’m planning when to break it off with him.
Now that I’ve regressed, I’ll live the way I want to.
I’ll be a villainess, and even if I become a real one, I’ll live my life with a smile.
