It was definitely a warm spring day, but among those in the Emperor’s office, except for Emperor Jed ldnis, were shaking their whole bodies as if they were being hit with the cold of winter.

Beichen has been over the danger of death every day as chief secretary of the Emperor for 15 years, swallowed a dry spit in fear as if he was not used to it at all. Felix, the captain of the guards who bravely stood by the Emperor on the battlefield, was also nervous.

The maid who poured water into Emperor Jed’s teacup accidentally splashed water droplets on the back of his hand. The Emperor they knew would surely frown his forehead, speak harsh words, and stare at the maid with deadly eyes. The maid would surely die today in his hands, who was not in a good mood, given the condition of the documents that had fallen on the floor at one throw.

Just as expected. Emperor Jed frowned and looked at the maid with icy blue eyes.

“I am sorry, Your Majesty.”

The maid mumbled an apology to Emperor Jed, who was still looking at her. Then she roughly wiped the back of Emperor Jed’s hand with her own hands. Everyone closed their eyes at the maid’s action. There has never been a time when a person who touched his body without permission has been left alone. Therefore, in their minds, the maid would face not just a death, but the death of a dog.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.”

The sound of the tongue kicking from Emperor Jed’s mouth broke the silence. But that was it. Beichen and Felix, who closed their eyes tightly, couldn’t hear a familiar sound, so they slowly opened their eyes and looked at the place where the maid stood. At the sound of Emperor Jed’s tongue clicking, the maid stood up, with a sullen face.

“What on earth are you good at?”

“I do not know, Your Majesty.”

“Do you call that an answer?”

“I am sorry, Your Majesty.”

“Who wants to hear that? Don’t say it. Go over there and wipe the windows and window frames.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

At the order of Emperor Jed, the maid took a towel from the hands of another attendant and headed to the window where he was pointing with his fingertips. Emperor Jed laughed as he saw the maid who was doing what she was told at the window where the spring sun was hot. At the sound of Emperor Jed’s laughter, Beichen and Felix looked at him with astonished faces as if doubting their ears.

“Laugh?”

“What, what was it? What did I just see?

“Wow, was he laughing? He was laughing, right?”

At the end of Emperor Jed’s smiling eyes, there was only an ordinary, brown-haired maid who was diligently cleaning the windows. Nothing to see, nothing special. She was just a regular, skinny girl with no look.

“I don’t think the Emperor will punish the maid.”

“Who knew that?”

The first meeting of the maid with the emperor of Pantheron dated back to three months ago, when he conquered the small kingdom of Ctia in the east.
