In the morning, Psili headed to Elisha’s bedroom. It was because she thought that Elisha might be looking for her on a whim. However, what came out of the door was Elisha’s still lingering anger. Orin, who came out of her bedroom, shaking her head at Elisha’s harsh words, found Psili standing in the hallway and smiled awkwardly.
“I wonder if she will continue to do that for a while.”
“Ah yes. And she will not be looking for you for a while.”
“For how long?”
“Well. Quite a long time.”
Elisha, who was still calm before seeing Psilli, was irritated to see her again. At this point, Orin, who felt that she would be in trouble for no reason, replied roughly in the hope that Psili would not come back again. Psili stared blankly at Elisha’s bedroom, then she bowed her head to Orin and withdrew.
Psili’s situation wasn’t resolved but what could she do? Elisha was already annoyed so they didn’t want to add more trouble. Looking at Psili who was moving away, Orin sighed with mixed feelings.
“What can I do. I have to live too.”
Psili, who came out of Espa Palace, staring at the busy attendants and maids who were walking and trudging. When she had a lot of work to do and didn’t have time to look around, she wished she could take a short break. However, now when she had some time to spare, she felt bored because she had nothing to do, and felt lost in the unknown future.
‘’Where should I go now?’’
She had a lot of thoughts, but her stomach was crying out for food. Then to Psili’s ears, which was wandering about so aimlessly, was greeted with a particularly pleasant voice today.
“Psili!”
Psili, raising her head at Asil’s voice, smiled and looked at him.
“Hi.”
“Hi. What are you doing here? Aren’t you going to get the laundry?”
Asil, who always thought of what Psili was doing, and talked about it, looked at Psili’s empty hands and tilted his head.
“None?”
“Not today.”
“I see.”
Then Asil brought out what seemed desperate and needed for Psili. Psili smiled brightly as she accepted the lukewarm bread, as if her warm energy had not completely gone away.
“I was hungry, thank you.”
“Here is also water.”
“Thanks.”
Accepting the bread and a bucket of water from Asil, Psili took a seat near the sunny wall. Asil tilted his head as he watched Psili, who eats bread at a leisurely pace unlike usual. Moshi said that he had to go quickly because he didn’t know when his master would find him.
“Aren’t you busy today?”
“Huh. I’m not busy. I don’t think I’m going to bother you anymore.”
“What? You were never a bother.”
Asil knew something must have happened, but he didn’t ask deeply because he thought it might be a bad story. He didn’t want to ask for no reason to offend those memories of hers. Just nodding his head, Asil looked at Psili, who was eating the bread with a strange look on his face.
“But… what’s with the hair..?”
“Ah, this? Somehow it happened .”
“How did it happen?”
“Huh. She must have been angry a lot.”
“Who? Is the concubine you serve?”
“Yes.”
“Why? You work hard, but why? “
“Well, I’ve been somewhere else all day. I don’t know why I was there. If the emperor didn’t come to the bedroom, she would often get angry, but this time she must be very angry. It seems like they always fight when they meet, but I don’t understand why they want to meet so much…”
Looking at Psili, who had funny hair with an inconsistent length, he tilted his head at Psili’s words.
“Fight? The concubine and His Majesty?”
“Yeah. Every day I spread the top of the bed without any wrinkles and keep things neat, but in the morning the inside of the room is a mess. And sometimes I happened to see some red bruises on Elisha’s body. Maybe the Emperor hits her.”
As Asil listened to Psili’s words, turned his head, coughing a little red, as to what he had imagined.
“Well. I don’t think that he is hitting her.”
.
“But why is she bruised?”
“Well, that’s it… I don’t know. It’s not like I was in that room. But I don’t think they fight anyway.”
“At first, she cried, but then she just laughed, and after the emperor left, she was very happy.”
“So it’s not a fight. And the Emperor’s Majesty will never hit a woman anyway. He is just…”
Asil wanted to say ‘He will kill you if you don’t make him happy”,
but he stopped trying to talk. Psili, curious about the unfinished words of Asil, asked with stiff open eyes.”
“Just… Just what?”
There was no chance that the emperor gave a glance to a servant or a maid. It was an extremely unfamiliar case that among the maids who wanted a night with the emperor, those who achieved what they wanted were counted in one hand. Somehow, if a maid got the emperor’s attention then he would stay overnight, but nothing more. And even if that maid became a concubine staying at Espa Palace, her situation would not be very different from when she was a maid. It’s a lucky thing if she didn’t get killed by the emperor on a whim but no one would know when and how he would change his mind.
Anyway, Psili didn’t have an appearance that stood out. If she put on men’s clothes, no one would know she was a girl. At the Espa Palace, full of gorgeous and beautiful women, it would be impossible for Psili to catch His Majesty’s eyes. Besides, Psili wasn’t the type of person who would want His Majesty’s attention anyway, so Asil shook his head as if it was too much for her to know that he didn’t have to say it.
“No. nothing. Anyway, I think you should do something with your hair.”
“I don’t care.”
“You don’t care, but what about others? I can’t stand it. I’ll go get the scissors. Well, I don’t have any skills, but I can still cut it in a straight line. It would be better than this. Wait here.”
Psili glanced at Asil, who had left to get the scissors, just ate the bread in her hand, as if she wasn’t interested in the style of her hair that had been cut off.
