To inflict damage on a wild boar, bare hands are definitely not enough.

It turned out that Zhao Jun had a small hand axe, but when he was knocked down by the wild boar, the axe had slipped from his hand and was now lost somewhere.

There was no time to look for it now.

Moreover, this Zhao Jun was no longer the inexperienced young man he once was. He had decades of hunting experience from his previous life.

He knew very well that to deal with a fierce beast like a wild boar, a hand axe alone was not enough.

If he had a gun, even a rudimentary one, Zhao Jun was confident he could take down this wild boar in no time.

But now, he could only hunt with a knife, relying on Li Baoyu's saber.

Earlier, when Li Baoyu stabbed the wild boar, the blade was fine, but the water birch stick serving as the handle had broken.

The saber was still in the midst of the battle between the boar and the dogs.

To kill the boar, he had to retrieve the saber first.

However, more important than killing the boar was saving Li Baoyu.

Although the boy had only fainted, the fight between the wild boar and the hunting dogs was not a contained circle. As the dogs chased the boar or the boar fled from the dogs, their movements were unpredictable.

If the wild boar charged towards Li Baoyu, its nearly 300-pound body could trample him to death or leave him crippled.

Li Baoyu was Zhao Jun's good brother, and their brotherhood from the previous life was not something that could be described in just a few words.

No matter what, Zhao Jun could not take Li Baoyu's safety lightly.

So, Zhao Jun went to Li Baoyu's side, squatted down, and lifted his head, patting his face and pinching his philtrum.

Then, Li Baoyu's lips trembled, he groaned a couple of times, and slowly opened his eyes.

"Bro... Brother." Li Baoyu opened his eyes, his gaze was dazed for a few seconds before he called out to Zhao Jun.

"Baoyu, are you okay?" Zhao Jun asked with concern.

"Brother, don't worry, I'm fine."

Zhao Jun: ...

Zhao Jun was speechless. His brother, though from a family of scholars, had only read comic books. Moreover, both he and his father were bookworms.

Li Baoyu's father, Li Dayong, had read a couple of incomplete copies of "Dream of the Red Chamber" and thought Jia Baoyu was the most handsome man in the world. Thus, he named his son Li Baoyu.

When Li Baoyu reached reading age, the conditions at home and in the neighborhood were much better than when Li Dayong was young. So, Li Baoyu read many comic books of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Water Margin."

Each comic book had only a few pages, and the complete set of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" comic books had nearly a hundred volumes.

With the current conditions, it was impossible to read them all.

Moreover, there was no way to follow updates, and many of the comic books were shared among neighbors.

Li Baoyu read them in a fragmented manner.

Like his father, Li Baoyu was deeply engrossed in his reading. Otherwise, he wouldn't have called Zhao Jun "Brother" like Li Kui calling Song Jiang, nor would he have spoken in such a half-literary, half-colloquial manner.

Zhao Jun helped Li Baoyu up. Seeing that he was unsteady but not seriously injured, he felt relieved.

He led Li Baoyu to a large green poplar tree and, with a nod, said, "Climb up."

Li Baoyu was still a bit dazed, both in thought and action.

But he had always listened to Zhao Jun, and under the influence of this subconscious habit, he didn't hesitate and climbed the tree as instructed.

The tree was about two meters in circumference, and Li Baoyu climbed about a meter up and sat astride a branch.

After ensuring Li Baoyu was safe, Zhao Jun turned back towards the battlefield.

He knew that in hunting, one must avoid facing the wild beast directly. Otherwise, whether it was a wild boar or a bear, no matter how many dogs attacked it, the moment it saw a human, the human became its primary target.

This might sound strange, but it was true.

Zhao Jun patiently circled around to the back of the wild boar, gradually moving closer to the center of the battle.

During this process, the wild boar turned a few times, and each time, Zhao Jun quickly dodged to avoid its line of sight.

As the wild boar moved down the slope, the battlefield shifted, and Zhao Jun finally retrieved the saber.

The water birch stick, originally over two meters long, was now broken into two pieces, with about a meter left attached to the saber. Zhao Jun held the saber, looked up at the boar and the dogs, and shouted.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!"

Zhao Jun's voice was short and sharp but loud, echoing in the forest.

The moment he shouted, it was as if a spell had been cast.

The two hunting dogs, as if injected with adrenaline, fiercely attacked the wild boar, pouncing and biting it repeatedly.

At the same time, Li Baoyu, who was perched on a branch of the green poplar, heard the sound and immediately became alert, the daze in his eyes dissipating.

Humans have their language, and animals have theirs.

When the hunting dogs were engaged in a prolonged struggle with their prey, cheering them on wouldn't help. But what Zhao Jun shouted was the sound hunters use to encourage their dogs.

Li Baoyu, who had grown up listening to his grandfather's hunting stories, suddenly became clear-headed upon hearing the sound. Remembering that he and Zhao Jun were hunting, the loyal and righteous Li Baoyu couldn't help but worry about Zhao Jun's safety and was about to climb down.

But as he lifted his head, he saw a scene.

The boar was fleeing, and the dogs were chasing.

The yellow dog, having been slapped by the wild boar earlier, had injured its hind leg and was lagging behind.

Zhao Jun's big spotted dog, however, was very cunning. It never faced the wild boar directly but always attacked from behind.

Although the big spotted dog had only bitten the wild boar five times, each bite caused the boar excruciating pain.

As the wild boar ran down the slope, the big spotted dog caught up in two leaps. It didn't try to overtake the boar but directly pounced and bit its rear.

Indeed!

It bit the boar's anus.

After biting, the big spotted dog braced its legs and pulled with all its might.

The wild boar was still charging forward.

One force pulling forward, one force pulling backward.

The big spotted dog stumbled and had to let go.

The wild boar let out a惨叫声。

The wild boar let out a惨叫声。

The sharp, mournful cry was no longer as powerful as before but was instead shrill and pitiful, echoing through the forest.

The big spotted dog's bite, combined with the wild boar's own force, had torn the boar's anus, and a small section of its large intestine was pulled out.

At this moment, the yellow dog attacked again, biting into the soft flesh where the wild boar's front elbow connected to its ribs, and bit down hard.

The wild boar, its eyes red with pain, swung its head to strike.

But before it could hit the yellow dog, the wild boar's massive body seemed to shudder.

With the shudder, the boar's body jolted upward, and it let out another "oof," "oof" in agony.

The big spotted dog was ruthless!

Another bite, and it aimed to tear out the wild boar's intestines.

The wild boar, unable to bite the yellow dog, turned its body to force the big spotted dog to let go and fled again.

But as it charged forward, it left its rear exposed to the big spotted dog once more.

With another pounce, the big spotted dog bit down, and the wild boar let out a mournful howl.

What is it to be in a panic and not choose the path wisely?

The wild boar was exactly that now.

To the left front, a large locust tree, broken by the wind, lay on the ground. The wild boar charged straight to the tree, turned, and sat down, blocking its rear.

Seeing this, Li Baoyu, perched in the tree, felt a surge of blood rush to his head and shouted loudly, "Brother, the boar is cornered!"
