Thinking to himself, Su Yang did not engage in the provocative behavior that Gao Ming had mentioned earlier. Under normal circumstances, he would have done so, but to leave a good impression on his granddaughter from another era, Su Yang, quite unusually, chose to wait for the right opportunity.
At this moment, the dojo coach stepped to the center of the venue and said, "Please quiet down, everyone. I will now introduce our special guest instructor, Mr. Park Myung-jun from South Korea. Mr. Park Myung-jun achieved second place in the 2010 World Taekwondo Championship in South Korea and is hailed as the successor to the new generation of Taekwondo. Today, he will demonstrate various Taekwondo techniques and engage in several instructional sparring matches with our outstanding students."
"Please welcome Mr. Park Myung-jun."
Amidst enthusiastic applause, Park Myung-jun, dressed in a white uniform with a black belt, 1.82 meters tall, and with a chiseled face that had a touch of stardom, walked out from the back. His powerful strides and imposing figure exuded a sense of awe, almost like a dragon walking and a tiger pacing.
As soon as Park Myung-jun appeared, the girls in the audience burst into excited cheers. Young girls, in the bloom of their youth, are easily attracted to such strong and handsome men.
Su Yang frowned, clearly annoyed by the girls' frenzy. He casually released a wave of energy that swept over Park Myung-jun, and his face showed disdain. "He has no internal strength at all, just a brute. It's laughable. Even the weakest of the three hundred Korean assassins I killed back then was stronger than him."
"I really don't understand what's wrong with this era. The old traditions are lost, but people flock to flashy gimmicks."
While having these thoughts, Su Yang also kept an eye on his granddaughter. Since Park Myung-jun's appearance, Zhao Yar's gaze had not left him. The usually cold and aloof girl now had a rare look of enthusiasm in her eyes, which made Su Yang even more displeased.
At this moment, Park Myung-jun began a demonstration of power testing, a crucial part of Taekwondo that attracts many people in this era. To put it bluntly, power testing is a way to show off in front of others, the best method to catch people's attention.
At the coach's signal, two dojo students stacked three wooden boards and held them in place. Park Myung-jun took five steps forward, leaped into the air, and delivered a side kick, shattering the boards with a graceful and impressive move.
"Too cool!" a girl screamed excitedly.
"Park Myung-jun oppa, that's what a real man looks like," another girl said, holding her phone and taking photos enthusiastically.
"Amazing, if I kicked, I'd probably break my own leg!" a thin, bespectacled boy on the stands exclaimed in awe.
His best friend, eyes shining with determination, said, "I've decided. I'll sign up for the Taekwondo club. This is the true skill a man should master."
Similar excited screams and conversations echoed around, especially from the two girls standing next to Su Yang, who screamed and jumped up after Park Myung-jun performed a high-difficulty spinning kick.
"That's my prince charming. Taekwondo is so powerful, far superior to the flowery martial arts of our country."
"Martial arts are for old men to exercise in the morning. They're not in the same league. What's there to compare?"
Hearing this, Su Yang, already annoyed, finally couldn't hold back. He glared at the girl beside him who was acting like a fangirl and coldly snorted, "Don't talk if you don't understand. Chinese martial arts are profound and deep. How can they be compared to this superficial stuff?"
"We're just stating facts. Why are you so upset? If you're so capable, why don't you come up and break a few boards for us to see?"
"Hmph, sour grapes. You're just jealous."
If it weren't for Su Yang's principle of never hitting women, he might have slapped these fangirls to death in the past.
Su Yang coldly snorted and didn't bother to argue. He waved to Cao Kai nearby and said, "Come here."
Cao Kai hurried over and smiled, "What do you need, boss?"
"You, go up there. Have them stack five wooden boards, and break them with one punch. Then tell them this is the result of a few days of Chinese martial arts training," Su Yang said firmly.
"Boss, are you kidding? My body can't do that. The boards are solid and thick. Even if I break my hand, I doubt I could crack even one," Cao Kai said, his face falling.
Su Yang, annoyed, said, "Do I look like I'm joking?"
As he spoke, Su Yang patted Cao Kai's shoulder, and a stream of true energy silently entered his body. "If you still consider me your boss, go up there now. I'll help you secretly. Don't worry."
Recalling the scene on the rooftop where Su Yang crushed a can with two fingers, Cao Kai steeled himself and said, "Alright, I'll give it a shot."
"Go."
Su Yang casually said two words and supported Cao Kai's waist, lifting him into the air. He soared over two meters and landed steadily in the center of the venue, five meters away.
Cao Kai, being straightforward, thought that since his boss had given him such a grand entrance, he might as well put on a show. If he succeeded, he wouldn't lack for girls at school.
"This student, what are you doing?" Due to Cao Kai's sudden appearance, Park Myung-jun stopped his demonstration. The coach stepped forward and asked, puzzled.
"I'm feeling itchy and want to try," Cao Kai said, pretending to be a master. "But breaking three boards is too easy for me. Stack five together. That's the minimum to show my skills."
These boards were specially prepared for black belt sixth dan experts like Park Myung-jun. They were not the thin composite boards but solid wood. Even the black belt third dan coach could only break two boards with one hit. Hearing this student claim he could break five, the coach's face turned pale. This was clearly a disruption.
"Student, please step down. This is not a place for you to play around."
At this moment, Cao Kai's two best friends, Ling Jianghai and Gao Ming, encouraged him at Su Yang's instruction. "Why not let him try? Don't underestimate him. He might be a master."
"Exactly. Are you afraid he'll embarrass you and lose face?"
"I know Cao Kai. He's learned Chinese martial arts for five days. He's very strong."
"Five days? It's only three. But he's so talented, he's already this strong. I wonder how many years that Korean expert has trained."
With these two clowns' encouragement, the entire venue erupted in cheers. Most people wanted to see Cao Kai humiliated, as no one believed he could match Park Myung-jun's strength.
The coach, seeing the situation, was in a bind. Although he wanted to kill Cao Kai, he had no choice but to agree.
"Fine, let him try. Bring the boards."
In the audience, Gao Ming's small eyes darted around as he approached Su Yang. "Boss, is it safe for the third brother?"
"If you want, I can let you try later. You can challenge six boards. If you can't break them, I'll write my name backward," Su Yang said, touching his nose.
Gao Ming took a step back and laughed nervously. "I don't want to. Please spare me, boss."
Ling Jianghai, however, was very interested. "Boss, if the third brother succeeds, let me go next. I want to show off too. It's a great opportunity with all the school beauties here."
Su Yang smiled mischievously. "Sure, I'll help you. I'll make sure you can beat that Korean show-off. It's settled."
"Fight that guy..."
Ling Jianghai stuck out his tongue and quickly changed the subject. "Look, the third brother is about to move."
In the venue, Cao Kai nervously stared at the boards a few steps away. He steeled himself and charged forward, delivering a clumsy punch that hit the five stacked boards.
"Please don't let me hear my bones break. I'm still young..."
"Bang"
Almost the moment Cao Kai's bony fist touched the boards, the true energy Su Yang had injected into his body activated, surging with the punch.
A shocking scene unfolded.
The five stacked wooden boards shattered into hundreds of pieces, flying in all directions. The two students holding the boards were thrown back over three meters and fell to the ground.
One hit, not just a break, but a complete shattering. The power of Cao Kai's punch was unimaginable.
The coach even doubted the quality of the boards, picking up the shattered pieces and examining them for a long time before believing what he had seen.
The audience, equally stunned, remembered the task their boss had given them. Cao Kai, putting on a mysterious air, laughed loudly. "It turns out that even a novice who has trained in Chinese martial arts for a few days can easily break five boards!"
The situation, which had been one-sided, suddenly changed. Many girls even cheered for Cao Kai, making him feel very proud.
"Following the boss is indeed the wisest decision of my life. After today, I won't have to worry about getting girls. How amazing is that!"
In his moment of triumph, Cao Kai suddenly felt a chill on his back. Turning around, he saw Park Myung-jun staring at him intently, his eyes like daggers. Scared, Cao Kai quickly walked off the stage and returned to Su Yang's side.
