Chapter 3

6 min read1,445 words

Su Yang held Xiao Wei's small hand tightly, not letting go for a moment, as if he was thoroughly enjoying the feeling of holding hands with the beautiful woman before him. From the slight upward curve of his lips, it was clear that his smile had a hint of mischief.

However, given that he was just a twelve-year-old boy, and one of such striking beauty, no one would think his smile had any romantic or sexual undertones, not even Xiao Wei herself.

"Having eaten my fill and enjoyed the company of this beautiful woman, the food here is good, but the environment is poor. A bunch of people are gossiping about my appearance, which is really annoying. It's time to leave," Su Yang thought to himself. He got up, walked to Xiao Wei's side, and, smelling the faint scent of her perfume, smiled and said, "Sister, you're a good person. If you have time, I'll come and play with you again. I'm full now, so I should go."

Xiao Wei, a top-tier celebrity used to grand occasions, quickly regained her composure. Hearing the child say he was leaving, she couldn't help but worry and said, "It's dangerous for you to go home alone. Let me take you, okay?"

"Dangerous? For me, there's nothing truly dangerous in this world!" Su Yang thought, finding it absurd. But seeing the genuine concern in Xiao Wei's eyes, he felt a slight warmth in his heart and changed his mind, nodding and saying, "Will you take me home by yourself? I don't want to be with a bunch of people."

Xiao Wei smiled and nodded, "Then you'll have to wait a moment. After I finish this scene, I'll drive you home. It will just be the two of us, no one else."

If it were an ordinary child, even if their orphan status resonated with Xiao Wei, she might not have personally taken them home. At most, she would have instructed the production staff to ensure their safe return. But this child seemed to have a strange allure, making Xiao Wei want to spend more time with him. The warmth from his hand, in particular, made her cheeks flush slightly, a subtle blush barely noticeable.

"I really have a weakness for beautiful women! It was the same for over a thousand years, and even after nine rebirths, it's still the same!" Su Yang muttered to himself, but he responded, "I'll wait for you, then."

Xiao Wei, seeing the child agree, felt a slight joy and smiled sweetly, saying softly, "I'm Xiao Wei. What's your name? Can you tell me?"

"My name is Su Yang, the 'Su' from 'flowers blooming on the Su Causeway,' and the 'Yang' from 'yin and yang in harmony." The child held Xiao Wei's hand, his fingers caressing her palm, and smiled brightly.

If it were an adult, explaining their name in such a way and holding Xiao Wei's hand so tightly would definitely be seen as flirting. In fact, Su Yang was indeed "flirting," given his true age and his preference for interacting with beautiful women.

"Su Yang, a very vibrant name," Xiao Wei said, not thinking that such a handsome and beautiful child could be flirting with her. She assumed he simply lacked the knowledge to explain his name more positively.

The filming resumed, and Su Yang found an empty table to sit and watch. During this time, several diners approached him out of curiosity, wanting to chat with this charming and handsome child, but all of them were met with cold shoulders.

"Kid, are you dressed like this to draw attention?" a male diner asked.

"How I dress is none of your business. Get lost," Su Yang replied.

"Su Yang, right? This steak is freshly ordered. Would you like to eat it? Call me 'sister' and let me give you a kiss?" a plump woman who found Su Yang's beauty captivating suggested, using a "candy" strategy to achieve her goal.

Su Yang didn't even look at her, completely ignoring her, finding her too childish to bother with.

"Kid, I'm a producer from Starlight Entertainment. Do you want to be a movie star like Xiao Wei, loved by everyone? I can help you," a man dressed flamboyantly and considering himself fashionable said.

"Get lost. My patience is limited," Su Yang replied.

"You're such a rude kid!"

Just as Su Yang was about to lose his temper and hit someone, Xiao Wei finished her work. Seeing her walk over, the self-proclaimed producer didn't dare to say anything and sulked back to his seat.

"Su Yang, let's go. I'll take you home," Xiao Wei said, having been focused on her work and not noticing Su Yang's situation.

"Sure!" Su Yang changed his tone, smiling and taking Xiao Wei's hand again, much to the envy of the men around them who were captivated by Xiao Wei's beauty.

At that moment, a group of people rushed into the restaurant, including several uniformed police officers and a red-haired American with a face swollen like a pig's head.

The American, upon seeing Su Yang, pointed at him and said in broken Chinese, "It's him, that kid. He knocked me out and stole my wallet."

Su Yang remained calm, as if the accusation was directed at someone else.

The police and the American surrounded him. The pig-faced American, who seemed to be afraid of Su Yang, hid behind a police officer and said, "An hour ago, this little thug knocked me out and stole my wallet."

"Ah, I'm still in recovery, my strength is only at one percent of my peak. I didn't control my force well and only knocked out this red-haired foreigner for an hour. How embarrassing!" Su Yang thought, feigning innocence and clinging to Xiao Wei, looking completely innocent.

The three police officers who accompanied the American looked at Su Yang with disbelief. The taller officer asked, "Mr. Smith, are you sure?"

"Of course I'm sure!"

"But he's just a child, a boy around ten years old..."

"It's definitely him..."

When Smith peeked from behind the police officer, he noticed the half-exposed black wallet in Su Yang's torn pocket and said excitedly, "That black wallet in his pocket is mine. It has my ID and credit cards."

"Is this it? I found it just now," Su Yang said.

Xiao Wei, unable to stand it any longer, frowned and said, "Officer, he's just a child. Look at how strong Mr. Smith is. How could a child like this rob him? It's absurd."

"You're Xiao Wei... Miss Xiao!" the tall officer exclaimed, surprised and delighted to see the internationally renowned actress.

The officer quickly regained his professionalism, looking at the small, beautiful Su Yang and the tall, muscular Smith, and said, "Mr. Smith, I think there must be a misunderstanding. The wallet is definitely yours, but this child couldn't have knocked you out."

The officer's reasoning was based on the injuries he had seen on Smith. The injuries were clearly caused by bare hands, but the force required to knock someone out like that was beyond what a child, or even the officer himself, could achieve.

Moreover, the intimate way the beautiful child was holding hands with a top-tier celebrity suggested he had a significant background and was unlikely to rob a foreigner in such a busy area.

Smith, hearing the officer's words, became furious, "I swear, it was this kid who knocked me out and stole my wallet. Now we have the evidence. Is this how Chinese police handle cases? Is this how a major international city like Shanghai treats foreign tourists?"

Smith's foreign status made the situation more complicated. The officer had almost resolved the matter, but Smith's persistence and the potential for the incident to escalate made things difficult.

The tall officer hesitated, thinking the matter wasn't so easily resolved, and said to Xiao Wei, "Miss Xiao, perhaps you could let this child come with us to the police station for an investigation. The case involves a foreigner, and the wallet was found on him..."

Before Xiao Wei could respond, Su Yang stepped forward, his eyebrows raised and a hint of anger in his eyes, "You red-haired foreigner, if you keep causing trouble, you might not see the sun rise tomorrow."

At that moment, the previously aggressive Smith was so frightened by Su Yang's words that he shrank back behind the police officer, trembling with fear. If there had been a hole to hide in, he would have jumped into it.

More surprisingly, as Su Yang spoke, an oppressive,
