"Kyaaaaa, it's a monster!"
The two rough-looking adventurers ran away, trembling.
With how scared they were, they probably won't dare to come to this guild again.
"Um, are you okay? I heard a loud noise..."
"It's fine, it's fine. They ran away. They were pretty scared, so they probably won't come back here."
"Thank you, really..."
Nina bowed deeply.
"So, I want to consult about a job right away."
I'm currently unemployed, so I want to get some kind of income and feel at ease as soon as possible.
"It would be great if you could introduce me to a suitable quest."
"Understood, Mr. Rain. What kind of quest are you looking for?"
"Hmm... probably a hunting quest."
That would be the best use for the enhanced sword and clothes.
"If there's something like a dragon slaying quest that could earn a lot of money, let me know."
"Wh-What, a dragon...!?"
"If there's a request, I thought I might take it. It would also be a good test of this thing's performance."
He tapped the copper sword in its sheath.
"Well... there is a request, but it's been sitting around for about two weeks because no one has taken it."
Nina said.
"This quest has been widely advertised to other guilds, but so far no one has taken it."
"There's no dragon slayer available, huh. Then I'll take it."
...Maybe I'm being a bit bold, taking on a dragon solo.
Let's review my current abilities.
First, my base stats.
I'm terrible with swords and can't use any magic except for enchantment.
Next, my weapons.
This is where I have an overwhelming advantage.
The power of the 'Copper Sword +10000' is at least on par with, if not better than, a holy sword.
It might even be on the level of divine weapons used by the gods?
...No, that's probably going too far.
But it definitely has overwhelming offensive power.
In terms of defense, I'm also quite tough.
The cloth clothes I'm wearing have been enhanced with '+3033' points.
Their defensive power is far beyond that of steel armor.
They might even be on the level of orichalcum, the hardest material known.
"In short, my weapons and armor are cheat-level, but I myself have average stats."
However, with just the sheer power of these weapons and armor (which are just clothes, really), I think I can probably hunt most monsters easily.
Especially with the sword.
I might not be able to hit it easily with my skill.
But this sword can cut through space with shockwaves.
In other words, it's a 'area attack.'
With this, I should be able to hit it normally even with my sword skills.
"It'll be fine, I'm sure."
I said to Nina in a casual tone.
Then,
"I'll go too."
The person who came to the reception was a middle-aged man with a sturdy build.
He was holding a magic staff as tall as himself.
He seems to be a mage, but his build looks more suited to a warrior.
"You might see me as a nobody from 'Fang of the Beast,' but I'm actually the top-ranked member of 'Blue Crystal.' I can be of help to you, hahaha."
The middle-aged mage laughed heartily.
"I can't let a new member go on a dragon slaying quest alone. I'll go with you."
"No, I think I can handle it alone—"
"You never know what will happen on a hunting quest. From the looks of it, you've mainly been a support role, haven't you? You probably don't have much direct combat experience, right?"
It seems he's worried about me.
"Oops, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Bernard Zola."
"I'm Rain Garland."
"Sorry for butting in, Rain. I just couldn't leave you alone."
"No, I appreciate your concern."
To be honest, after being kicked out of my previous guild like that, I had a tendency to be wary of other adventurers.
But this person seems to be coming along out of pure goodwill.
I don't want to turn down that kindness.
"Alright, let's go together."
And so, my first quest with the new guild turned out to be a dragon slaying quest, the strongest of all monsters.
