When Bai Su said she wanted to 'talk' with Tang Zhong, although Zhang Heben was playing a game on the computer, her hands had slowed down, and her ears perked up. Lin Huiyin held the remote control and quietly turned down the volume several notches.
Thus, Tang Zhong and Bai Su's conversation was heard by all three women.
"If one day I don't swing my fists at them, it means I'm dead."
Upon hearing this, the three women's expressions changed simultaneously.
What kind of confidence made him say such a determined and murderous statement?
Zhang Heben, with a childlike mindset, initially thought Tang Zhong was 'out of prison' and must be a big bad guy. Moreover, she didn't want a man to live in the villa.
However, after today's incident, she thought Tang Zhong looked quite cool when he fought.
The slight resistance she had towards him had long vanished, and she secretly thought that being with him felt quite safe.
Lin Huiyin's thoughts were more complex, and no one knew what she was thinking. However, her gaze lingered on Tang Zhong's profile for a long time.
Bai Su, facing Tang Zhong, could better sense his current mood and tone.
He wasn't just talking; he wasn't saying these things to win their favor. She knew he would really do it.
She believed him, even though she didn't know where this trust came from.
Bai Su waved her hand irritably and said, "Tang Zhong, why can't we just be good celebrities? There are so many celebrities who don't fight or cause conflicts, yet they live well and get what they want—flowers, applause, wealth, status, or immortality. You can do it too."
"I can do it," Tang Zhong said. "I really want to. No one likes to always be in conflict or fight with others. Like last time, I also wanted to finish the event peacefully, and tonight, I wanted to have a comfortable meal. I never thought of making trouble for anyone. When you punish others, it also affects your own mood."
"Exactly," Bai Su said with a smile. "So, you can't fight with people anymore. It's not that those people don't deserve a beating, but to keep a good mood."
Bai Su thought her words would definitely resonate with Tang Zhong and that she would be a successful persuader.
Unfortunately, Tang Zhong gently shook his head.
"If I don't fight, my mood will be even worse," Tang Zhong said. "If I let them go, I'll be the only one angry. If I hit them, then two people will be angry. Thinking that they are more angry than me makes me feel better."
"..."
Bai Su wanted to die.
She wanted Tang Zhong to die even more.
Oh God, have mercy, strike this demon dead!
"Seems like I can't persuade you?"
"Yes," Tang Zhong nodded. "You have two choices. First, kick me out of the Butterfly Group and end this ridiculous game. Second, let me try to change some things."
"What do you want to change?"
"Celebrities can also live with dignity," Tang Zhong said with a smile. "Whether on stage or behind the scenes, they should be respected."
"..."
Tang Zhong got up from the sofa and said, "I'm going to take a shower. I need to go back to school later."
Saying that, he walked to his room.
The three women stared at his back in silence.
"Headache. Headache." Bai Su rubbed her head and walked upstairs.
"I feel so uncomfortable. I'm going to take a shower. Sister Huiyin, do you want to come?" Zhang Heben also ran upstairs in slippers.
"No."
Lin Huiyin sat alone in the living room, silently staring at the TV screen.
After washing off his makeup and changing back into the clothes he came in, Tang Zhong closed the door and came out.
In the living room, only Lin Huiyin was there; Bai Su and Zhang Heben had gone upstairs.
Tang Zhong greeted Lin Huiyin and said, "I'm going back to school."
Lin Huiyin didn't respond.
Tang Zhong didn't feel anything was wrong. If she had responded enthusiastically, he would have been surprised.
He pushed open the door and was about to leave the villa courtyard when Lin Huiyin's voice came from behind, "Tang Zhong."
Tang Zhong turned around.
Lin Huiyin stood under the eaves, her tall figure enveloped in light and shadow. Even though the light was glaring, she still gave off a sense of loneliness.
Her shadow stretched out, overlapping with Tang Zhong's figure at the door.
"Is there something?" Tang Zhong asked.
"Thank you," Lin Huiyin said.
Saying that, she turned and went back.
Tang Zhong stood there in a daze for a while, then shrugged and walked out.
As he reached the entrance of the residential area, the sound of a car engine came from behind, and strong headlights shone on him. Tang Zhong instinctively moved to the side of the road.
Screech—
The car stopped beside Tang Zhong, and Bai Su rolled down the window, shouting, "Get in."
The car was the black Mercedes they had taken earlier, not Bai Su's flashy Ferrari. Bai Su had also changed her clothes and was now wearing a black silk nightgown.
Perhaps feeling too exposed, she had also draped a silver shawl over her shoulders. The combination was a bit odd but didn't hide Bai Su's current gentleness and sexiness.
Tang Zhong smiled and opened the door to get in.
"Didn't you say I should keep a low profile?" Tang Zhong said with a smile. "Riding in a Mercedes to school isn't exactly low profile."
"Taxis are hard to find now," Bai Su explained. "Besides, I didn't say I'd take you all the way to the school gate."
Tang Zhong knew she was being considerate and didn't want to expose her pretense of indifference.
"How was it?" Bai Su asked with a smile.
"How was what?"
"About Huiyin," Bai Su pursed her lips, knowing the kid was pretending to be clueless. "How did it feel when Huiyin said thank you?"
"You heard that?" Tang Zhong asked with a smile. Bai Su wasn't there, so how could she have heard their conversation?
"After taking a shower, I was drying my hair on the balcony and accidentally overheard you," Bai Su explained dismissively, not caring if Tang Zhong believed her. "It must have felt good, right? Huiyin has never said thank you to anyone. I've known her for years, and she's never done that."
"That proves she was impolite before," Tang Zhong said. "After spending time with me, she's changed a bit."
"Are you that shameless? You start boasting before anyone even compliments you," Bai Su scolded.
Then, both of them laughed.
Bai Su didn't take Tang Zhong all the way to the school gate but stopped at the intersection of Xuefu Road.
"I'll drop you off here," Bai Su said. "You'll have to bear with it a bit. Your identity is special, and it's best not to draw attention from your classmates."
"No problem," Tang Zhong said. "This distance is nothing for me. A few steps and I'll be there."
"Okay." Bai Su opened the glove compartment, took out a piece of paper, and handed it to him, saying, "Take this."
"What is it?" Tang Zhong asked.
"A little gift from Liu Mingwei," Bai Su said with a smile. "Two million. With this money, you'll find it easier to date girls at school."
Tang Zhong didn't reach out to take it, saying, "He said it was for all three of us. I don't have the right to take it all."
"Take it. Consider it your salary," Bai Su pushed the check into Tang Zhong's hand. "I'll explain to Huiyin and Heben. Actually, they don't care much about money. They agreed to join the group because they really love singing. You can tell they have talent. They are natural singers."
"So, you mean they are actually rich second-generation, and money is just a number to them?" Tang Zhong said with a smile. "In that case, I'll take it."
Perhaps two million wasn't much to Lin Huiyin and Zhang Heben, or even to Bai Su. But to Tang Zhong, it was a lot. It was equivalent to the total salary of the boss for twenty years. When he left Henshan Prison, the boss had only given him two thousand yuan for living expenses, in addition to his tuition.
"Before, I always tried to get money from others, but I never thought I'd be so happy giving money to someone else," Bai Su teased herself. "Liu Mingwei won't let this go. Be careful."
"They'll only look for Tang Xin who isn't in the country. They won't think to come to the school for Tang Zhong," Tang Zhong said without much concern. "But you should be careful. Call me when you meet them. I'll try to get there as soon as possible."
"Wow, two million and you're bought?" Bai Su laughed.
"Sure. I'm cheap," Tang Zhong said.
He pushed open the car door and got out, waving to Bai Su.
"Tang Zhong," Bai Su called from the window.
Tang Zhong turned around.
What was wrong with these women? Couldn't they say everything at once?
"You gave me two choices," Bai Su said with a smile. "I choose the second one."
"Are you sure?" Tang Zhong asked. "It might cause you a lot of trouble."
"I know," Bai Su nodded. "Reason tells me to kick someone like you as far away as possible, but after thinking it through, I find you quite interesting."
"Interesting?" Tang Zhong smiled bitterly. It was the first time he had been 'complimented' this way. If this could be considered a compliment.
"I've decided to tolerate you," Bai Su said. "I'm looking forward to seeing who your next opponent will be and what they'll look like after you're done with them. I'm also looking forward to seeing how far you can go in the entertainment industry with your personality."
"And I'm looking forward to seeing if you can become a hot star in this industry."
