He thought that by mentioning the matter in a joking manner, he could block Tang Chong's path to the stage.

Ever since Tang Chong stepped up, Lu Yifei knew things had gone wrong, and he had made a fatal mistake.

When Li Qiang asked for Tang Chong's opinion, he should not have spoken up, as it would give the impression that he was making decisions for Tang Chong. Although Tang Chong had indeed told him to give up the stage.

He didn't understand why he did that. When Li Qiang asked Tang Chong, his heart was pounding, and without giving himself any time to think, he blurted it out.

He was afraid of him.

He was afraid that Li Qiang would persuade him, that he would stand up, and that he would become the class president.

And the class president was just a stepping stone, a support point for jumping to a higher position.

Sure enough, Tang Chong's words were full of menace.

Although he didn't specify who he was warning, his eyes were fixed on him, and everyone in the class knew he was talking about him.

Being stared at with such a fierce gaze, he felt a chill all over his body.

His body turned cold, his skin tightened, as if it were overly dry from lack of water.

"Swallow" He swallowed.

He thought he really needed to hydrate.

Tang Chong's eyes were fixed on a corner of the room, a smile on his face, but it didn't look pleasant or friendly.

"In this world, only one person can make decisions for me," Tang Chong said.

"Unfortunately," he wagged his finger. "That person is not you."

"My name is Tang Chong. I want to be the class president."

After saying that, Tang Chong strode down from the stage.

There was a moment of silence in the room, and then someone led the applause, which erupted into thunderous clapping.

Some people screamed, some pounded the desks with their fists.

Dominant, powerful, cool to the point of making one want to cry.

Young people admire heroes and yearn to become heroes. Now that such a strong figure had appeared, it perfectly fulfilled their fantasies.

How could they not support their hero?

Lu Yifei's face turned ashen, his hands clenched into fists so tightly that his nails pierced his flesh without him noticing.

Li Qiang gave Tang Chong a surprised look, feeling quite helpless.

Why was Tang Chong so aggressive?

"Is there anyone else who wants to come up and run for office?" Li Qiang asked with a smile.

No one responded.

"No one else? If no one else, then we'll start the voting," Li Qiang said with a smile.

He went out and brought in two student council members.

One boy and one girl, the boy being Wang Aiguo, who had greeted Tang Chong when he first arrived at the school.

Li Qiang pointed to Wang Aiguo and the girl and said, "Li Lu is the head of the Student Council's Life Department, and Wang Aiguo is the head of the Discipline Department. Li Lu will announce the votes, Wang Aiguo will record them, and I will supervise. Does everyone agree?"

"No objections," everyone responded in unison.

Li Qiang smiled and said, "Good. The names of all the candidates and their positions are on the blackboard. Everyone, take out paper and pen and write down the name of the person you support. This is a secret ballot. I'll collect the votes in a moment."

Some people were prepared and had brought paper and pen, while others had to borrow from their classmates.

In a short while, everyone had filled out their ballots. Li Qiang collected them and handed them to Li Lu.

Li Lu took the ballots and began announcing the results.

Wang Aiguo wiped the blackboard clean and wrote down the names of those who received votes. If someone received multiple votes, he wrote a '正' (zheng) character next to their name.

The forty ballots were quickly read, and the results were shocking.

Tang Chong received thirty-six votes, meaning that out of the forty students in the class, only four did not vote for him as class president.

Behind his name was a long row of '正' characters. Those characters seemed like a carnivorous beast, slowly devouring Lu Yifei's confidence. They also looked like ghostly faces, sneering at Lu Yifei.

Wang Aiguo looked at Tang Chong in shock, thinking that in the history of Nan University elections, only one person had received unanimous support from the entire class. Tang Chong's vote count was the most terrifying.

The second-highest vote count was for Jiao Nanxin, who ran for the position of cultural committee member and received twenty-seven votes. Although she didn't stand out during the military training, and many boys didn't even know her, her beauty made the boys willing to choose a pretty girl as the class image representative.

Hua Ming ran for the position of sports committee member and received sixteen votes. This number was still significantly higher than the other candidates, possibly because his campaign slogan of "tough and capable of heavy work" moved everyone.

Lu Yifei received a rather embarrassing number of votes, which could be easily ignored.

Since he ran for class president, once everyone chose Tang Chong, they couldn't vote for him.

"Let's give a warm round of applause to the newly elected class committee members," Li Qiang said with a smile, leading the applause.

Everyone clapped enthusiastically for the winners. Whether they succeeded or failed, it was a valuable opportunity for them to grow.

At least, they had stood on the stage.

Li Qiang found a dozen boys to go with him to the academic affairs office to get the textbooks, while the other students waited in the classroom.

"Tang Chong, congratulations."

"Is the class president going to treat us to a meal?"

"Class president, I voted for you. I didn't make a speech, only a warning. Damn, I was so excited when I heard that, I almost slapped the table."

Everyone sincerely congratulated Tang Chong, and he smiled and joined in with them.

Hua Ming, looking at Tang Chong's expression, grinned widely from behind.

After others had congratulated him enough, he rushed up and put an arm around Tang Chong's shoulder, saying, "Do you know why those girls voted for you? Because they all know you and I are good friends."

The prison was full of talented people, but Tang Chong really hadn't found anyone as shameless as Hua Ming.

Back in the dorm, Liang Tao and Li Yu heard that Tang Chong had become the class president and congratulated him happily.

Liang Tao slapped his chest and said, "Today is a day worth celebrating. Let's go to the campus restaurant, and I'll treat you."

Since Tang Chong and the others had accepted Liang Tao's friendship, the bill for eating out was usually covered by Liang Tao, who had an LV display stand.

*Clap*

*Clap*

*Clap*

At the third tennis court, a slender figure was swinging a racket forcefully.

It was a beautiful girl, so beautiful that it was hard to describe her with specific words or sentences.

She wore white shorts and a red mandarin-collar T-shirt, white sneakers on her feet, and held a tennis racket, hitting the ball that bounced back from the wall fiercely.

*Whoosh*

She missed a shot. The tennis ball flew past her and went behind her.

*Clap*

A sound of impact came from behind her.

The girl turned around and saw a tall, thin boy with glasses holding a tennis ball walking towards her. It was the ball she had missed.

The girl didn't look surprised and said, "We meet again. Mingli Lake, the third floor of the sixth canteen, the third lending room on the third floor of the library, and here. You must think these are all coincidences, right?"

"They are coincidences," Tang Chong said with a smile. He had just happened to see Tang Xin's diary.

"This answer is disappointing," Su Shan said. "If you had given a different answer, you might have scored more points."

"I can't lie to you," Tang Chong replied seriously.

Su Shan smiled and said, "That's a good answer."

Tang Chong threw the tennis ball he had caught to her and said, "Shall we play a couple of sets?"

"Sure. The loser buys the night snack," Su Shan agreed readily.

"Is this an invitation?" Tang Chong adjusted his glasses, which were about to fall off.

Su Shan wiped the sweat from her forehead, then stood still and looked at Tang Chong, shaking her head and saying, "You're not my type."

"Really a blow. I went to such lengths to run into you, and it was all for nothing," Tang Chong teased. He didn't feel particularly hurt because he had seen Su Shan's requirements for a boyfriend in Tang Xin's diary.

He wasn't the type she wanted and had no intention of changing for it.

"Do you have a racket?" Su Shan asked.

"No," Tang Chong pointed to another racket on the side and said, "Can I borrow it?"

Su Shan's face darkened and said, "This racket belongs to a good friend of mine. She left temporarily due to some matters."

Tang Chong squatted down and pulled the racket out of the bag, gently stroking it.

This was Tang Xin's racket. Every Monday at 8 PM, she and Su Shan would play an hour of tennis in the third tennis room. The third tennis room was not open to the public, but Su Shan had the key.

"I'll play with you," Tang Chong said with a smile. "Until she comes back."

Looking at Tang Chong's gentle smile, Su Shan felt a sense of familiarity.

She was wary of everyone, but this man made her inexplicably feel at ease.
