Bill lived up to his reputation as a know-it-all, immediately answering, "There's one at the Kent Library on Kent Street." Then, a look of hesitation appeared on his face. Although Brian's words were harsh, they were undeniably true.

No one can learn to make potions just by self-study.

"Don't worry, I'm really just going to take a look." Colin guessed what Bill was thinking, smiled, and patted Bill's shoulder reassuringly.

"Okay." Bill let out a sigh of relief. It would be fine if it was just out of interest, but if he truly became obsessed with alchemy and planned to make a fortune from it, he would surely be disappointed.

Then, Bill looked up and asked, "Do you want me to go with you?"

"No need. I know where the library is." Colin shook his head.

The topic ended there, as Ms. Anna soon entered the classroom. At the Will Knight Academy, mornings were usually for cultural classes, and afternoons for training.

Today was no different, with nothing special happening. After school, Colin and Bill walked out of the classroom together and said goodbye at the main gate.

Colin tightened the strap of his black backpack and turned toward Kent Street. This was the territory of the Marquis of Kent, and every city of a certain size had a Kent Street, along with the corresponding Kent Library, Kent Square, and a statue of the first Marquis of Kent.

These facilities reinforced the idea that this was the territory of the Marquis of Kent.

As a territorial marquis of the empire, the authority of the Marquis of Kent was unquestionable.

The people living in the houses near Kent Street were more diverse, including merchants, nobles, and commoners. This area was clearly more bustling, prosperous, and noisy than Light Street.

Colin rarely came to Kent Street, and he turned his head to look around, finding it quite novel. He crossed Kent Square, where a huge statue of the first Marquis of Kent stood.

It was a white stone statue, with the first Marquis of Kent astride a horse, wearing armor and holding a massive sword, looking mighty and awe-inspiring.

Soon, Colin arrived at the Kent Library. It was a large library with an enormous collection of books, and the number of people visiting it every day was also staggering.

Entering the library through the old copper doors, Colin asked a lady with a kind smile, the librarian, and then made his way to a section.

Narrow aisles lined with tall bookshelves on both sides were filled with books, both new and old.

"Basic Rune Literature," "Basic Alchemy," "Basic Smithing," "Basic Meditation," "Basic Swordsmanship." This area was known as the Extraordinary Start.

Basic and public extraordinary knowledge could all be found here. Colin, amidst the countless books, immediately spotted "Basic Alchemy," but it was high up. Colin, being a twelve-year-old with a short stature, couldn't reach it even on tiptoe. He planned to get a ladder, but at that moment, a blonde lady walked over, easily reaching the book "Basic Alchemy" and asked Colin, "Boy, do you want this one?"

A pleasant scent of perfume wafted over. Colin quickly glanced at the lady, noting that she was probably in her early thirties. She had long, golden hair, smooth, snow-white skin, and a well-proportioned figure. She wore a tight-fitting purple dress that accentuated her good figure.

The etiquette he had learned from a young age told him that staring at a lady was impolite. Colin quickly glanced at her and then slightly lowered his head, thanking her, "Yes, that's the one. Thank you."

"You're welcome." The lady smiled lightly, handed the red leather book to Colin, and then turned and left with a sway of her slender waist.

Colin couldn't wait to open the red leather book and start reading.

"Ding, Basic Alchemy detected." The cold voice of the system sounded in his ear. Colin opened the system interface and thought, "Convert 2 points of energy into 2 skill points."

The energy bar on the interface turned to 0, and the skill points bar became 2.

"Ding, Basic Alchemy detected. Do you want to spend 1 skill point to learn it?" The system's voice had a slight change.

Colin was delighted; indeed, just touching the book was enough. He then chose without hesitation.

"Learn."

Immediately, the system interface changed further.

Colin focused on the skills section. Unlike Roar Military Swordsmanship (Loose) and Horsemanship (Proficient), which had notes, Basic Alchemy had none.

Colin soon understood that Basic Alchemy was essentially an encyclopedia of basic potions, with hundreds of entries densely packed on the pages.

At that moment, all this information was imprinted in his mind.

Colin felt a bit regretful; this could have been memorized, and there was no need to spend a skill point. However, he quickly composed himself. It was good to have quickly learned Basic Alchemy, which would allow him to enter the potion-making phase more quickly.

Colin quickly raised his head and scanned the numerous books, quickly selecting his target. "Basic Strength Potion Making." This book was not high up, and Colin bent down to pull it out. The black cover exuded a mysterious aura, and the book was quite thin, only about an inch thick.

"Ding, Basic Strength Potion Making detected. Do you want to spend 1 skill point to learn it?" Colin opened the first page, and the cold voice of the system sounded as expected.

Colin felt inexplicably pleased, and the corners of his mouth curled up into a smile. "Learn."

A moment later, Colin's mind was filled with new knowledge. He opened the system interface again, and the skills section changed.

Skills: Roar Military Swordsmanship (Loose) [Note: Requires 1 skill point to enhance], Horsemanship (Proficient) [Requires 1 skill point to enhance], Basic Alchemy, Basic Strength Potion Making (Loose) [Note: Requires 1 skill point to enhance].

Unlike Basic Alchemy, Basic Strength Potion Making could be enhanced.

Colin pinched his chin thoughtfully.

"The so-called Basic Strength Potion increases 1 point of strength and has a certain failure rate. In terms of quality, there seems to be no difference. This means that different levels of skill proficiency may represent different success rates in making the potion."

Colin felt regretful again.

"If I had known, I should have memorized the Basic Alchemy book and used that 1 skill point to enhance the Basic Strength Potion Making. Now it's too late. There's no regret potion to take."
