Bill was also at a loss. A long time ago, Colin had proposed to him that he needed to find a job to earn money to support the household.

But Colin was only twelve years old and had no special talents. What kind of job could be suitable for him?

Fortunately, he was well-connected. When it was confirmed that Colin's bloodline enhancement had failed and his path to the extraordinary was likely to be cut off, he immediately pointed out another path for Colin, that of a prominent figure in the secular world.

To make a name for oneself in the extraordinary world, one needed extraordinary talent, great strength, and the right connections.

But to make a name for oneself in the secular world, one only needed to be adept at socializing and have strong connections.

Bill knew the situation of the Russell family, a thoroughly impoverished noble family. Linda was a governess, and Smith was a young financial officer with the risk of being laid off. Not only was their living place dilapidated, but they also had no servants or butlers. Apart from their surname and bloodline, the Russell family was more like ordinary commoners.

But this did not mean that Colin had no advantages. In Bill's view, Colin's appearance was good, he was of the type that was handsome and tall, with an especially strong physique, which would be favored by noble ladies.

Moreover, Colin often came up with novel ideas, such as the story of "Journey to the West." And there was one more point: Colin was only twelve years old.

Many flirtatious noble ladies had such preferences. If Colin learned how to please women, he would become a favorite among noble ladies. With this as a foundation, Colin could thrive in the secular world.

In short, although Bill was only twelve years old, he had a clear understanding of the noble circles and had indeed gone to great lengths for Colin.

However, all of this was based on the premise that Bill believed Colin had little chance of pursuing the path of the extraordinary.

Not only did Bill make this clear, but Colin also understood. Although he secretly cursed Bill as a bad friend, he was still grateful to him.

If he didn't have the system, being a poor and impoverished noble, becoming a kept man and relying on a woman's influence to slowly rise to prominence in the secular world would indeed be a good choice, even if the lady had many lovers.

Moreover, this "job" was indeed easy, comfortable, and well-rewarded.

Following Bill's previous instructions, he could easily climb into the lady's bed that night.

But now, didn't he have the system? Although it was currently difficult, lacking the funds to buy magic potions and the necessary equipment for potion-making, he still felt unwilling.

On the other hand, this was also an opportunity. Making the lady happy and getting some gold coins as initial capital would solve all the problems.

On one side was money, and on the other side was self-respect.

Colin was torn, his face turning pale. After a long time, he asked Bill, almost involuntarily, "How old is this lady, and is she beautiful?"

"Early thirties, fair-skinned and beautiful, with a voluptuous figure." Bill glanced at the large villa ahead, then tiptoed and whispered in Colin's ear, "I heard she is also skilled in the art of love, a real temptress in bed."

Being shorter than Colin, he had to take such a posture.

Colin's heart itched with desire. What a good rich woman, even if she had many lovers, it didn't matter as long as she had money.

The internal struggle intensified, almost overwhelming him. But Colin took a deep breath, turned to Bill, and said, "Bill, have you mentioned me to this lady before?"

"How can I mention it first? I'll take you in to meet the lady first. You can chat with her about art, life, and jewelry. Then you can take out your 'Journey to the West' to make her happy. It will be a natural progression." Bill gave Colin a flirtatious wink.

"That's good." Colin took a deep breath, then undid the top gold button on his shirt. Just as Bill thought Colin would go in without hesitation, Colin fled to the carriage, turning back to Bill and saying, "Pretend I never came."

"Damn it. Still your pride. I, Colin Russell, really don't want to take this path." Colin leaned against the carriage, his mood incredibly complex.

"Suit yourself." Bill was a bit angry. This was such a good opportunity. He stomped his foot in a very feminine manner, entered the carriage, and said to the driver, "Go back."

Under the driver's control, the carriage slowly left the large villa. The two guards at the gate were very puzzled and bewildered. "These two guys parked the carriage here, chatted for a long time, and then left."

After the carriage had traveled for a while, although Bill was angry, he was still worried about Colin's future, as Colin was one of his few friends.

"Colin, I'm not belittling you. But given your family's situation, becoming a lover of a flirtatious noble lady and then rising to prominence is a shortcut. If you follow your brother Smith's path and work in the city hall as a financial officer or a police officer, you'll only be able to make a living. Let's turn back." Bill said earnestly.

"No, I will take the path of the extraordinary." Colin was very grateful for Bill's concern but firmly said without revealing the system.

Bill was taken aback, then frowned and said, "But Colin, your bloodline potion enhancement failed. After the first failure, you develop resistance. The second chance is much smaller. If the second attempt fails again...," he said tactfully, "Really, Colin, your chances of taking the path of the extraordinary are slim."

"Don't worry, Bill. I will be like the protagonist in many knight novels. Although I will go through hardships, I will ultimately become a prominent figure in the extraordinary world, slay the dragon, and marry the princess." Colin said confidently and with determination.

"Believe you, my ass." Bill gave Colin another flirtatious wink but kept this thought to himself.

"What about you, Bill? What are your aspirations?" After a long silence, Colin looked up and asked Bill.

"Me? Graduate smoothly, get the title of a lifetime knight. Then go to the capital, where the fashion of the empire is at the forefront. I want to work in fashion, cosmetics, and perfumes." Bill's face lit up with anticipation, and he spoke with enthusiasm.

Colin was not surprised, but he sincerely said, "I wish you success, Bill."

"You too, Colin." Bill's response was somewhat perfunctory. Perhaps Colin could persevere and take the path of the extraordinary, but slaying the dragon and marrying the princess was out of the question. That was something only the heroes in knight novels could do.

The carriage slowly traveled on the wide, straight road, heading back to Will City, the warm breeze blowing in their faces.
