I asked Ning Haoyu to help me carry the woman from the KTV, but he was somewhat reluctant, probably afraid of getting into trouble.
Reluctantly, he helped, but kept asking me, "Tell me the truth, did you knock her out?"
I gave Ning Haoyu a look and said, "Are you blind? I just pressed her philtrum, and I didn't use much force. I just used my qi to block her spirit gate. Her consciousness and the ghost's consciousness collided, causing her to temporarily lose consciousness."
Ning Haoyu probably didn't understand what I was saying. We carried the KTV woman into the room and threw her on the bed. Then Ning Haoyu stood to the side and said, "Chuyi, think carefully, don't do anything illegal."
I said I understood, then took a deep breath and was about to press the woman's yintang point. But before my finger could reach her, she suddenly opened her eyes and slapped my wrist with a "swish."
"Slap!"
This woman was really strong, and it hurt my wrist.
"What are you two doing? I'll call the police!" the KTV woman suddenly said.
I was taken aback and looked at her expression. She seemed to be awake, but her yintang was still very dark. I guessed the evil spirit was still in her body, but had temporarily stopped controlling her.
Before I could speak, she said, "Hey, I remember I was putting on makeup. Why am I in bed? And how did you two get in here? What do you want to do to me?"
I told her directly that she was possessed by a ghost, and it wasn't good. If people found out there was a ghost in my house, I wouldn't be able to rent it out, and even if I could, it would be at a much lower price.
Before I could speak, Ning Haoyu wanted to say something, so I quickly pulled him back and said, "Beautiful lady..."
The KTV woman interrupted me, "My name is Xiang Li. Just call me Li Li. Landlord, explain to me, did you drug me? If you don't give me a reasonable explanation, I'll report you for rape."
Hearing this, Ning Haoyu's temper flared up, "What, you're going to report us? You..."
I pulled Ning Haoyu behind me and said, "Don't argue, it will only make things worse!"
Then I turned to Xiang Li and said, "You've been renting from me for almost a year, right? You know what kind of person I am, don't you?"
Xiang Li, being my tenant, didn't make a fuss and nodded, "I know, but you need to explain what happened today. Why are you two in my room, and why am I in bed?"
Now, any other explanation wouldn't be credible, so I told Xiang Li the truth, including what happened yesterday. After I finished, Xiang Li was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing, "What are you saying? I'm possessed by a ghost? That's ridiculous."
I countered, "Then tell me, why did you suddenly forget everything while putting on makeup?"
"You drugged me," Xiang Li insisted.
I was also getting angry and said, "If you insist, let's call the police and see what they say. If no drugs are found in your system, you'll have to move out immediately."
Hearing that I was serious about calling the police, Ning Haoyu was scared. After all, no one could explain the ghost situation, and it would be even harder to explain to the police. So he pulled me aside and said, "Beautiful lady, what do you want us to do?"
Xiang Li looked at me and Ning Haoyu and said, "Waive five months of rent, or I'll call the police."
Five months of rent?
I was about to object, but Ning Haoyu pulled me aside and said, "Don't speak. Okay, five months of rent."
He didn't wait for me to respond and pulled me downstairs.
Once downstairs, he pushed me back into my room and said, "Are you crazy? If you call the police and tell them about the ghost, will they believe you? Listen to me, let's just settle it this way. I know you're stingy, so I'll pay the rent. Consider it my bad luck for giving you that bookcase."
Although I love money, I have principles. Ning Haoyu has already helped me, so I definitely won't take the money.
I took a deep breath and said, "Forget it, consider it my bad luck. Let's think about how to deal with the ghost. We can't let it stay in my house forever."
Ning Haoyu nodded and said, "Let's throw the bookcase away, far away. Maybe whoever picks it up will have bad luck."
If we throw it away and someone picks it up, it will harm them. That would affect my future luck, and I don't want to be unlucky for life. So I shook my head in disagreement and explained to Ning Haoyu.
Hearing my explanation, Ning Haoyu asked, "We can't burn it, we can't throw it away, what do we do? How about you stay at my place for a while, and let the ghost cause trouble here? Maybe it will calm down after a while, just like when it was in my shop. It only made some noise, but didn't harm anyone."
Ning Haoyu's suggestion reminded me. When the bookcase was in his shop, the ghost didn't harm anyone. It only started when it came to my place. Could it be that last night, when Ning Haoyu and I disturbed it, it got agitated and started causing trouble?
Thinking about this, I looked towards Xiang Li's room. Ning Haoyu pushed me and said, "Don't think about doing it yourself. My uncle has been in the antique furniture business for a long time and has probably encountered similar situations. I'll ask him if he knows of any solutions."
Hearing this, I nodded.
I only know some simple methods to drive away ghosts, and I'm not sure if they work. If Ning Haoyu can find an expert, that would be great.
After thinking for a while, I asked Ning Haoyu who would pay for the master. Ning Haoyu gave me a look and said, "You're so stingy. Okay, I gave you the furniture, and I caused the problem, so I'll pay for it."
I smiled and patted Ning Haoyu on the shoulder and said, "You're a good friend!"
Then Ning Haoyu called his uncle, who does business in the city, and briefly explained what happened.
After he finished, I heard Ning Haoyu's uncle scolding him for a while, probably for being reckless and taking in things without proper investigation.
After a while, Ning Haoyu said, "Uncle, you've finished scolding me. Can you give me some advice?"
Ning Haoyu's uncle spoke for a while and then told him to hang up and sent him a phone number via text.
I leaned in to look. The text contained a phone number and identified the owner as Daoist Wang.
After seeing the number, Ning Haoyu said, "My uncle said this person is an expert and can definitely solve the problem."
I asked Ning Haoyu to call and ask if it was possible and what the cost would be.
I was also thinking that if it was too expensive, I wouldn't let Ning Haoyu spend the money. I would try the methods my grandfather taught me, which he said were effective against ghosts, though they were a bit risky.
Ning Haoyu dialed the number and put it on speaker.
After a few beeps, a deep, resonant male voice said, "Hello, who are you looking for?"
The voice sounded like he was in his late twenties. Ning Haoyu and I were both stunned and didn't say anything.
"Hello?"
The voice asked again, and Ning Haoyu finally responded, "Hello, is this Daoist Wang? I'm Xiong Jiu's nephew. I have a problem, and my uncle recommended you..."
Ning Haoyu then told the person everything that happened without waiting for a response.
After Ning Haoyu finished, Daoist Wang said, "I understand the situation. This isn't difficult. Send me your address via text, and I'll come over. By the way, your number isn't from the city. If it's far, I'll charge extra."
I, being sensitive to money, asked how much extra. He replied, "For nearby, I'll reimburse the gas. For far, I'll reimburse the round-trip transportation."
The Daoist seemed reasonable, so I said, "Okay."
Ning Haoyu then asked what we should do in the meantime. The Daoist said, "Don't do anything. I don't think it's a malevolent ghost. It won't harm you. Don't provoke it. We'll deal with it when I arrive."
After agreeing, Ning Haoyu hung up and sent the address.
After sending the address, Ning Haoyu sighed and said, "Okay, this problem should be solved."
I was still a bit worried. What if he's a fraud?
So I looked at Ning Haoyu's face. Although encountering a ghost triggered bad luck, his complexion was good, and his yintang was bright, indicating he would meet a benefactor. Could the benefactor be the Daoist?
Thinking this, I felt a bit more at ease.
Ning Haoyu and I stayed in the house and didn't go out. A while later, Xiang Li came downstairs, dressed up, ready to go to work.
Before leaving, she knocked on my window and said, "Landlord, remember, five months of rent waived."
I replied irritably, "I know!"
I also glanced at Xiang Li. The blackness on her yintang had faded, but there were still signs of health issues, and her disease palace was dark, indicating she would get seriously ill.
So I couldn't help but warn her, "Xiang Li, I suggest you go to the hospital for a check-up. Your face shows signs of a serious illness!"
Xiang Li smiled at me and said, "You said I was possessed by a ghost, and now you say I'm sick. Landlord, stop joking. I'm very healthy."
With that, Xiang Li waved and left, not taking my words seriously.
Ning Haoyu, hearing this, said, "Why do you care about that woman? Good intentions don't always get good results."
