Chapter 42

......

......

The third group of 20 people had just passed through the river valley. Under the cliff, a man wearing a straw hat jumped down from a tree, holding a scorecard in his hand!

After registering, this man quickly left the forest and headed toward an open grassland.

"Everyone in the third group has passed. Among them, the wind-element student named Zhang Xiaohou performed exceptionally well." The man in the straw hat walked into a tent and reported to the man inside.

If the students were here, they would certainly be surprised to find that their practical class teachers and the instructors were all gathered here, comfortably sitting on the grass, eating snacks, and drinking.

"Oh?" The chief instructor, Zhan Kong, raised his eyebrows.

In Zhan Kong's memory, there didn't seem to be a student named Zhang Xiaohou among the higher-level wind-element students.

Sigh, it's normal. Cultivation is just the foundation; a truly capable mage still needs intelligence and courage!

"Note the name down; he can be given a high score." Chief Instructor Zhan Kong said to the deputy instructor, Pan Lijun.

Pan Lijun nodded and quickly wrote down Zhang Xiaohou's name.

"Haha, you guys at the post station really know how to play." Zhang Jianguo laughed heartily.

"Yes, first, throw these students directly into the mountains, making it clear that there will be no rescue or help, then secretly follow them and record their outstanding performances during the task, giving them scores... This is a great move!" Chen Weiliang also laughed.

"Indeed, compared to the previous days of idleness, this clearly better demonstrates each student's psychological resilience." Teacher Tang Yue also nodded.

If those 100 students, who were called useless, knew that their teachers and instructors had conspired to trick them, they would have no idea what their faces would look like.

Of course, the teachers and instructors would not abandon these students. With their current level of learning, they do not yet have the ability to survive in the wild. However, without creating a realistic environment, the effect would not be achieved. Therefore, the best approach is to treat them harshly on the surface while secretly following them, ready to intervene in case of any major accidents.

"Boss Zhan Kong, I almost fell for your trick. I thought you were really going to be so heartless and not let any student pass this trial." Deputy Instructor Pan Lijun said.

"You're wrong. Those who have no use in the trial, I won't let them pass," Zhan Kong said straightforwardly.

"But... But this bounty is impossible for anyone to complete."

"Yes, I think it's already very impressive that they managed to cross the demon vine area." Chen Weiliang said.

"Of course, no one can complete the real bounty. Not to mention the students, even our instructors might not be able to complete it." Zhan Kong said with a smile.

"Instructors can't complete it?? What do you mean??" Zhang Jianguo asked, puzzled.

"It's like this. Since we set the one-eyed demon wolf den as the destination for the students' trial, we must ensure that there are no remaining one-eyed demon wolves inside. Therefore, we also sent a summoner mage to guard it. This summoner mage is actually the final test for all the students. There are no demons in the den, but there is a summoned beast..." Luo Yunbo said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, the eyes of the teachers and instructors all lit up.

The head of the education department, Chen Weiliang, immediately clapped his hands in approval!

"Brilliant, truly brilliant, this move is really brilliant!!"

Xue Musheng also nodded vigorously and said, "Yes, we certainly can't let these students face real demons now; the casualties would be too heavy. But the trial is meant to train each student's composure when facing demons. Without facing demons, the trial wouldn't be effective. Sending a summoner mage to have his summoned beast play the role of a demon is perfect. It not only allows the students to see real demons but also ensures their safety!"

"Thank you so much, Boss Zhan Kong, for coming up with such a perfect trial. I believe the students will gain a lot from this experience!" Xue Musheng said with a smile.

"It's my duty."

"Speaking of which, the summoned beast should only be one. What if those students are stronger than we imagined and manage to defeat the summoned beast together?" Teacher Tang Yue couldn't help but ask.

"Ah~ Teacher Tang Yue, you're overthinking it... In the twenty years we've been teaching at Tianlan Magic High School, we've never heard of students being able to fully release their magic on their first encounter with demons. Even if some of them can fully release their magic, with their skills still at level 1, they can't possibly hurt the summoned beast." Zhang Jianguo said confidently.

"Yes, among all the elemental types, the most powerful are fire and lightning. The only one who might have a slight deterrent effect on the summoned beast is Xu Zhaoting with his lightning. As for fire, it can only cause minor burns to the summoned beast." Chen Weiliang said with a chuckle.

The teachers and instructors all laughed.

Indeed, they were very clear about the students' abilities. This trial itself was an impossible task. They wanted the students to grow during the process, and they had a good idea of what the students would experience!

Teacher Tang Yue didn't laugh. She glanced at the valley in the distance, which was slightly shrouded in mist.

"Mo Fan has held the stardust magic artifact for a whole year. I wonder if his fire has reached a higher level. If so, he might be the only student who can injure the summoned beast. A student who can injure the summoned beast should be able to get an S, right?" Tang Yue muttered to herself.

Then, Tang Yue shook her head.

Facing fierce demons, being able to fully release a skill is already quite impressive.

Tang Yue only hoped that the 100 top students wouldn't all fail at the summoned beast stage. In fact, as long as they could release any skill at this stage, Zhan Kong would give them an A in their trial!

An A has been the highest score students have received from instructors in all these years of trials!
