○ Laila (18)

Daughter of the Kyrka merchant family in the Kingdom of Rendia. She has dark blonde hair that reaches just below her shoulders and purple eyes.

She is Julius's fiancée and lives with him in his mansion.

Although she is not a mage, she has a constitution that can "absorb and neutralize pure magic."

○ Julius (officially 22)

Adopted son of the Bartsek family, a prestigious mage family in the Kingdom of Rendia. He has long wheat-colored hair and hazel eyes.

Due to his excessive magic, he once had a ghostly appearance, but thanks to Laila's constitution, he has transformed into a handsome man.

Despite his changed appearance, his gentle personality remains the same, and he loves Laila dearly. His destructive words and actions have become even more powerful, often making Laila squirm.

Fifteen years ago, he was said to have been an orphan of war, picked up by the Rendia mage army during the Miasis border conflict. However, he is actually from the neighboring country of Orva.

He was used by the people of Orva for his vast magic and treated poorly as a "weapon." During the border conflict, he was thrown into the Rendia side and caused a magic explosion, but was protected by the mage army and his origins were hidden.

Because of this, he has a dislike for vegetables.

○ Verneli (early 20s)

Employee of the Rendia Kingdom Mage Research Institute. She has short, straight black hair and deep green eyes that slant upwards.

She holds a servant-like position, admiring Julius, and is skilled at everything except making pastries. Her cooking is top-notch, and Laila has learned that praising her will get her to make her favorite dishes.

She is affectionate towards Julius, often cold towards Laila but occasionally affectionate, and generally cold towards Helka but can suddenly become honest, which confuses Helka (unintentionally).

She looks very sad when excluded, so it's best to spend time together as a group of four.

○ Helka (21)

Employee of the Rendia Kingdom Mage Research Institute. She has long, straight platinum blonde hair and assertive brown eyes.

She is Laila's caretaker but interacts with her in a sisterly or friendly manner. Laila secretly admires her.

She is a good understanding friend to Julius and Laila and is sensitive to the nuances of love. She wants to stay by their side even after they get married.

She and Verneli are like quarrelsome friends. Helka is generally more articulate, but in emergencies...

She should not be trusted with seasoning food.

The Kyrka merchant family couple in the Kingdom of Rendia.

Laila's parents, they are successful merchants. Due to their daughter's engagement, they have formed a personal partnership with Isabella. They are known for their modest and steady achievements, earning Isabella's respect.

○ Joachim (20)

Second son of the Cantara Baron family in the Kingdom of Rendia.

He was supposed to marry Laila but ended up marrying Carolina after she became pregnant. He discovers that his wife and brother were having an affair, but it's too late.

He has many things to reflect on but is also a victim of Carolina's ambitions. He plans to live modestly while supporting his brother's wife and others.

○ Carolina (18)

Daughter of the Levy family, which holds a quasi-baronial title in the Kingdom of Rendia. She has blonde hair and green eyes.

She calls Laila a "friend" but secretly looks down on her and will use any means to bring down the plain Laila.

The child she is pregnant with is not Joachim's but his brother's, and this is revealed to the magic-sensitive Julius. She is threatened by him but, in her desperation to belittle Laila, she ends up passing information to Orva.

Her fate after her divorce from Joachim is unknown.

○ Isabella

Head of the Bartsek family, a prestigious mage family in the Kingdom of Rendia.

She is Julius's aunt and, in her youth, was involved in various escapades with the crown prince. Now, she is a respected head of the family with many children and grandchildren, known in society for her achievements.

She is very enthusiastic about Julius and Laila's marriage but does not allow premarital relations.
