Chapter 85

Saber-toothed tiger pressed his hand against his wound. For an ordinary person, the tearing of internal organs and most of the intestines would be a fatal injury, but for him, it was just a lingering pain. In a few breaths, his wound had already healed miraculously. Whether it was his kidneys or the severed intestines, they were regenerating and repairing at a visible speed under a mysterious force. Soon, his wound was completely healed, leaving no trace of injury. The only mark left was the large tear in his windbreaker.

Logan's reaction was similar. The large chunk of flesh that had been torn from his back had already returned to its original state, with his muscles and skin looking almost the same as before the injury. If it weren't for the piece of flesh still clutched in Saber-toothed tiger's hand, it would be hard to imagine the terrifying damage he had just suffered.

Saber-toothed tiger's super-regenerative ability left Logan extremely surprised. His pupils suddenly constricted, and a vague memory instantly surfaced in his mind.

In a chaotic battlefield, he and a man who looked extremely similar to Saber-toothed tiger were advancing forward. A shell landed near him, blasting him far away. At that moment, the man who looked like Saber-toothed tiger ran to his side and pulled him up. At that moment, Logan seemed to hear him say, "Brother, are you okay?"

"Victor!" Logan, in a strange state, suddenly called out this name. At that moment, Saber-toothed tiger, who had already pounced again, slapped him across the face. The sharp nails on his fingers instantly tore through Logan's flesh, and the sharp tips even sparked against his alloy bones. One nail even pierced into his eye socket, and when he retracted his claws, the nail was still hooked with a mushy ball of flesh, Logan's eyeball.

The intense pain stimulated Logan's nerves, making him subconsciously slash everything in front of him with his claws. Although Saber-toothed tiger tried his best to dodge, the tips of the claws still pierced into his chest, slicing his pectoral muscles and half of his sternum in two.

Pain for pain, injury for injury. This was the most apt description of their current confrontation. For these two men with near-immortality, this was the most painful method in the absence of any other options.

"Victor! This name sounds familiar!" Saber-toothed tiger dipped his finger in the blood on his body, licked it, and then threw the eyeball in his nail into his mouth. He chewed it slowly, as if savoring a delicacy. After a moment, he said, "It tastes similar. Could you be related to me?"

"I don't know!" Logan gritted his teeth. Even for him, the pain of having his eyeball gouged out was unbearable. But he still stood firm, facing this enemy with the same ability. "My memory tells me you called me brother!"

"Is that so, Victor. It seems this is my name. It sounds good!" Saber-toothed tiger, Victor, narrowed his eyes. He bared his sharp canines, giving off a sense of a wild beast. "Brother, we do look like a pair. But for some reason, I really want to kill you!"

"I feel the same way!" Logan growled and immediately pounced. The faint memory did nothing to suppress the wild impulse in his heart. He really wanted to tear this person apart.

The two men charged at each other like bullets from a gun. Muscles collided with muscles, and bones cracked. Blood and flesh splattered everywhere, and their savage and brutal appearance was enough to make any normal person faint.

For these two men without a past, this was just one of many fated battles they had already fought.

Although Logan had indestructible steel bones and alloy claws that could tear through anything, Victor's abilities were superior. His strength, agility, and even his animal instincts were stronger than Logan's. Most importantly, he didn't have the same hesitation in his heart.

When Logan had the chance to stab his claws into Victor's throat and decapitate him, he hesitated for a moment. That moment was enough for Victor to turn the tide.

He pulled his claws out of Logan's abdomen and forcefully grabbed Logan's wrist. His beast-like strength completely overpowered Logan, leaving him unable to counterattack. Victor then lifted Logan, and despite Logan's weight and steel bones, it was no problem for Victor. Instead, it increased the impact.

When Logan landed headfirst like a swung hammer, the floor couldn't withstand the force. A large shallow crater formed at the point of impact, with cracks spreading out, debris flying, and dust and blood splattering everywhere.

Despite his near-immortality and steel bones, Logan's brain couldn't handle the impact. He lost consciousness and fell into a coma the moment he hit the ground.

Looking at the unconscious Logan, Saber-toothed tiger Victor frowned. He narrowed his eyes and stared at Logan on the ground, appearing lost. This clearly showed his confusion.

He didn't know how to proceed. If it were anyone else, he wouldn't hesitate to finish them off. But for Logan, the moment he won the fight, he lost the desire to kill him.

After hesitating for a while, Victor turned and left.

A while later, Logan suddenly got up from the ground. He rolled a couple of times to create some distance before standing up and looking around.

The environment was still the old bar, but Saber-toothed tiger Victor was no longer there. The only person present, staring at him in shock, was the fat bar owner. He was holding a Remington shotgun and cautiously approaching Logan.

Seeing Logan stand up, the bar owner's face first showed a look of shock, then he immediately reacted, pointing the gun at Logan.

"Monster, leave my place. Did you hear me!"

Annoyed by the gun waving in front of him, Logan swiped at it with his claw. The sharp alloy claw cut through the barrel, revealing the rifling inside.

He glared at the frightened bar owner, turned, and left the bar. Victor's appearance meant Magneto was coming, and he needed to tell Jean Grey and the others quickly. Any mistake could be fatal for Rogue.

When he returned to the hotel, he found that besides Zhou Lan and a few students, Zhou Yi, Jean Grey, Ororo, and even Rogue Mary were sitting together, seemingly waiting for him.

Without time to think about the situation, Logan directly said to them, "Magneto is here. I've already fought with one of his men."

"We already know, buddy!" Zhou Yi waved him over, indicating for Wolverine Logan to sit down. "I've already met the legendary Mystique and passed a message to the famous Magneto through her."

"Passed a message, buddy. What kind of message did you want to send to your enemy!" Logan, who had just been thoroughly defeated, was not in a good mood, and his tone was quite harsh.

Zhou Yi stood up, looking down at Logan. He wouldn't tolerate such a tone and firmly rebutted it.

"Do you want to know what message, buddy!" His words were sharp, filled with confidence and arrogance. "I challenged him. The winner achieves their goal. If he wins, he takes Rogue. If I win, he has to sit down and negotiate. That's the message I had her pass."

"Are you crazy, Yi! You can't do this. You're gambling with your life and Rogue's. Magneto won't show mercy to a human." Ororo, who was the first to react to Zhou Yi's frankness, was the first to speak up.

She, who had always avoided a direct confrontation with Magneto, never expected Zhou Yi to choose this approach. It was like a nightmare to her. Magneto's reputation was a mountain pressing on her heart, and now Zhou Yi was challenging this mountain, which left her shocked.

"I don't agree with this either. It's too dangerous!" Jean Grey also spoke up. "I know you're powerful, but this is Magneto. In this human world, he's invincible. We don't need to do this. It could cost you your life."

Ororo and Jean's opposition was expected by Zhou Yi, but Logan's reaction was a surprise.

"I agree!" After Zhou Yi expressed his thoughts, the beast-like man thought for a moment and gave his opinion. "I don't know how powerful Magneto is, but since they've tracked us here, hiding won't do us any good. It's better to take the initiative. But I absolutely disagree with using Rogue as a bargaining chip!"

"Do you think we can protect her if we fail?" Zhou Yi stretched his lips. "This is war. The victor takes all, and the loser loses everything. I'd rather die fighting than be a coward!"

"Yi!" Ororo and Jean called out in unison, truly frightened by Zhou Yi's words.

"Don't worry too much!" Zhou Yi smiled gently at the two women close to him and said confidently, "I'm not someone who can be easily killed. The person in front of you is far more complex than you see."

"What are you talking about?" Ororo was thoroughly angry at Zhou Yi's cryptic attitude at this moment. She glared at him, her eyes almost spitting fire.

Jean was also upset, though not as visibly as Ororo, but her dissatisfaction was clear.

"It's about time I told you about my other identity."

"What?" Just as Ororo and the others expressed their confusion, they saw Zhou Yi step back and begin to change dramatically.

Black, mercury-like metal spread over his body, quickly enveloping him in a majestic suit of armor. When his cloak was unfurled, a figure familiar to all New Yorkers appeared before them.

"As you can see, I am the Dawn Knight!" The resounding words from behind the helmet left everyone in shock.
