Chapter 1

"O spirits of the immortal ancestors, hear my call and let the guardian spirit that belongs to me descend upon this world!"

In a small room, a girl of about thirteen or fourteen closed her eyes and murmured softly. She had a waterfall of black hair, and her face was as finely crafted as an artist's work. As her ethereal voice faded, she opened her eyes and looked around the empty room, her face showing a heart-wrenching disappointment.

"Failed again, damn it. It seems that the effort to decipher those mysterious totems earlier drained me too much. I can no longer break through the barrier of the unspeakable evil and convey my will to the distant Galactic Spring... I'll go to sleep now; I have to recite the languages of the foreigners in the morning."

The girl turned off the lamp and climbed into bed. The bed was so cold that her toes were numb. In the dead of night, even the slightest sound could be heard. It seemed that something was scratching at the walls in the ceiling. The wind blew against the window, as if someone was pacing behind her, one step light, one step heavy.

"Ugh! Unnameable evils surrounding me, you won't defeat me." The girl curled up in the cold bed, shivering, her eyes tightly closed. "When I summon my guardian spirit, it will be your end!"

She was so afraid of the dark that she couldn't sleep, and though she spoke defiantly, her teeth chattered, and tears squeezed out from her tightly shut eyes.

Rip!

Suddenly, a lightning-like sound came from behind her. The girl's whole body trembled, and she covered her head with the blanket.

Rip! Bang! The lightning-like sound grew louder.

"Has my identity been discovered?" The girl sat up with a start. The lightning-like sound grew more intense, and the room was as bright as daylight. The girl's face was as white as paper, and she clutched the pillow tightly, looking towards the source of the sound.

In the center of the room, there was a blinding white light. Before the girl could see clearly, the light gradually dimmed, revealing the figure of a man.

Despite the man's sudden and bizarre appearance in her home, the girl did not panic; instead, she looked surprised and delighted. After a moment, she suddenly leaped up, jumping and shouting excitedly on the bed: "I finally summoned it! I summoned my guardian spirit!"
