In the state of Wei, in the city of Dingzhou, there lies the Longyan Marsh.

A few days ago, Zhang Yan and Luo Xiao entered this place along a river called Rongjiang. His ordinary internal energy had been entirely transformed into innate primordial essence, allowing him to hold his breath for several days and nights without any difficulty. They moved forward in the dark at the bottom of the lake to avoid the patrolling disciples of the Lingcang Sect.

Fortunately, they were cautious throughout their journey, and the direction they took was not a key area guarded by the Lingcang Sect disciples, so they successfully moved along the edge of the Longyan Marsh and entered a rather hidden water area.

This water area was surrounded by mountains on three sides. If they had traveled on the ground or flown through the sky, they would have certainly been noticed by the patrolling disciples.

Guided by Luo Xiao's heart's blood, she accurately found the mark she had left before, tugged at Zhang Yan's sleeve, and pointed downward.

Zhang Yan opened his eyes and saw a funnel-shaped cave at the bottom of the lake, where the water formed a small whirlpool.

Luo Xiao made a gesture for him to follow and dove in first, her mermaid-like figure appearing even more graceful in the water.

Zhang Yan closely followed her. As soon as his body approached the whirlpool, he felt a strong force pulling him down. He relaxed his body and let the water carry him to the bottom of the cave.

After standing firm, he saw a passage leading somewhere, but Luo Xiao had already disappeared.

Zhang Yan swam deeper into the passage, and after not going far, he suddenly felt a release and was lifted up by a strong force. With a splash, he emerged from the water and found himself in a spacious cave.

Luo Xiao was standing on a stone platform not far away, waiting for him.

Zhang Yan leaped out of the water and came to her side. His expression changed slightly as he noticed a skeleton on the ground nearby. From the clothing and attire, it appeared to be a cultivator.

Zhang Yan immediately became alert and said in a deep voice, "Has someone been here before?"

Luo Xiao smiled lightly and shook her head, "No, this person was killed by me that day."

Back then, Luo Xiao had a battle with a Lingcang Sect expert at the Xuan Guang stage. Both of them mistakenly entered this place, and after a fierce fight, she killed this person here. However, when she went out, she found five Lingcang Sect disciples hurriedly swimming away, as if they had seen the secret entrance.

Luo Xiao immediately had the intention to kill and pursued them all the way to the territory of Cangwu Mountain, where she was forced to retreat to Zhang Yan's cave by Ning Chongxuan.

Luo Xiao had already taken all the valuable items from this corpse, so Zhang Yan paid no attention to it. He looked around and saw that the cave walls were covered with wriggling spirit clams, all吸附在洞壁上吞服地脉中的精华,一眼望去,怕不有上万之数。

Luo Xiao

Luo Xiao

Zhang Yan

Luo Xiao

Zhang Yan

Luo Xiao

Zhang Yan

Luo Xiao had already taken all the valuable items from this corpse, so Zhang Yan paid no attention to it. He looked around and saw that the cave walls were covered with wriggling spirit clams, all attached to the cave walls, consuming the essence from the earth's veins. At a glance, there were probably tens of thousands of them.

Luo Xiao ignored these spirit clams and said, "Daoist Zhang, the King Clam is in a cave a hundred feet below. Please follow me."

The entire cave spiraled downward. As they walked, the smell of dampness and mold filled the air, and the ground was uneven and slippery, making it difficult to walk. They stopped and rested several times. After a moment, they reached a large cave with a sticky, jade-like substance all around, but it was empty inside.

"Strange, this is clearly the King Clam's nest. Why isn't it here?"

Luo Xiao circled the cave a few times and peered into the small, narrow cave where the King Clam usually resided. From the residual true dew, it was clear this was indeed the King Clam's nest. She frowned and said, "Could this be a Yang Clam?"

Zhang Yan asked, "Daoist Luo, what is a Yang Clam?"

Luo Xiao explained, "Clams are divided into Yin and Yang. Yin Clams prefer stillness and dislike movement. Although they can move through the earth, they won't easily relocate unless threatened by a powerful enemy. Yang Clams, on the other hand, like to migrate and will change their nest every year or so. Given that there are only ten thousand spirit clams outside, it seems the King Clam has been here for a while."

Zhang Yan touched the semi-solid substance on the cave wall, which felt like resin, and asked, "Is this true dew?"

Luo Xiao seemed disinterested and sighed, "It is true dew, but from the color, it seems to have been excreted about a day ago. It can still be used for opening meridians, but much of its essence has been lost. The best true dew is excreted within an hour."

"Only a day? That means the King Clam hasn't gone far."

As Zhang Yan spoke, he inadvertently used some force, and with a "swoosh," he found his arm had penetrated the thick layer of resin on the cave wall.

His eyes widened, and he stepped back, looked around, and then tried to push further into the cave. Finding no obstruction, he used more force and was completely swallowed by the substance.

Luo Xiao watched Zhang Yan's actions and, when he didn't emerge for a long time, her face tightened. She called out, "Daoist Zhang?"

With a "swoosh," Zhang Yan, covered in true dew, emerged from the cave. He smiled at Luo Xiao and said, "Daoist Luo, it seems there's more to this cave!"

As the two delved deeper into the earth, a flying boat descended upon the Lingcang Sect's Ying
