As the crowd left, Elder Shi slowly got up from the chair, looked around to see that everyone had been subdued, and hurriedly took out a stack of talisman papers from his pocket to hand over to Huakongque’s father, instructing, “Put all these talisman papers into the children’s mouths, then tie them to the pillars. After we deal with the ringleaders outside, we will come back to save them!”
“Yes, yes!... Hurry, open their mouths for me... Ah, hold them, don’t bite me…” The man immediately got busy and found time to reply, “I’ll take care of it here, Master Shi, you can rest assured.”
Elder Shi knew that although this man was in the martial world, he was cautious and highly respectful towards him, so he wouldn’t make a mistake with such a small task. He responded and, with the help of the remaining disciples, walked out of the courtyard.
Upon reaching the courtyard, he saw that a fierce battle was already underway!
Five Bhikshus had tightly surrounded a circle, in the center of which was an extremely tall and thin red-robed Master. The Master was holding a half-dead child, whose limbs hung limply, showing no signs of life. The red-robed Master’s face was flushed with rage, his eyes filled with a fierce light, clearly indicating his extreme fury.
The Bhikshus were drenched in the talisman water, looking utterly disheveled, and their weapons were wielded weakly. Elder Shi knew that the talisman water they used was effective. He also noticed that Tianlong and the Five Jiu were constantly ambushing the Dingjia Sect disciples, making it difficult for the Bhikshus to cope. He felt relieved.
He walked over to Elder Ji’s side and said with a chuckle, “It seems you were right! The intruders are indeed from the Tibetan lineage, and this technique can temporarily seal their powers—only, I find it strange that if the Bhikshus have achieved great supernatural wisdom, this thing would be useless. Look at the Master in the center; he has clearly broken through to the realm of supernatural wisdom. Why does he seem powerless and not using any spells?”
Elder Ji slightly bowed his head, “I also find it strange. This person has a high status, and his cultivation has reached the realm of great supernatural wisdom. Logically, he should have the strength to fight us, but he was thrown into disarray by our Five Jiu... This is clearly not normal!” His eyes flickered, and he pondered, “Unless, unless he has a hidden move…”
The two exchanged a glance, both thinking of an extremely terrifying possibility, and their faces turned pale. They couldn’t help but shout, “Fall back! You must quickly…”
Before they could finish, the tall and thin Bhikshu brought his hands together, forming the Vajra Destroying Hand Seal, and chanted the name of the Great Vairocana Buddha. Instantly, his body was like a torrential rain and a raging wind, and a blinding white light exploded forth!
The light and wind surged, and everyone felt as if they were being hit by countless Vajra hammers, with needles piercing their chests and abdomens. They were thrown backward uncontrollably!
At that moment, it felt as if a great force of sorrow and power was coming from the sky, making their bodies feel suddenly drained and weak, and they all fell to the ground!
In the distance, a voice with a rising and falling intonation echoed:
“Secret Master, listen to the heart’s nature! It is said: greed, non-greed, anger, compassion, delusion, wisdom, determination, doubt, darkness, brightness, accumulation, conflict, contention, non-contention, heavenly, Asura, dragon, human, female, freedom, merchant, farmer, river, pond, well, protection, stinginess, dog, fox, Garuda, rat, song, dance, drum, house, lion, owl, crow, Rakshasa, thorn, cave, wind, water, fire, mud, color, board, confusion, poison, rope, weapon, cloud, field, salt, razor, Mount Sumeru, sea, hole, rebirth... all are included, the nature of mirage is empty, it is based on the delusions of the world, and thus there is discussion, such true words are only nominal!”
The light illuminated the sky, enveloping the entire Shimen Ferry, and countless people fainted.
As the light dissipated, everyone in the courtyard fell to the ground. The Five Jiu and the Hundred-foot Heavenly Dragon returned to their sealed containers, and the Bhikshus were not spared, each one lying on the ground, twitching uncontrollably, clearly unconscious!
Only Elders Shi and Ji, and Shi Buzhuan, could勉强撑起身子, but their limbs were so weak that they could no longer fight. The tall and thin Bhikshu’s mouth was already filled with blood, which trickled down his lips, but he stood in the center, his movements weak yet still capable of wielding a knife to kill!
Suddenly, the tall and thin Bhikshu laughed!
The laugh was grotesque and demonic, indescribably terrifying!
He slowly raised a broadsword in his hand and walked over, saying, “The Buddha’s intention is to save the world, to eliminate demons and obstacles. In the secular world, any heart that is not pure, not clean, not clear, and not white, will inevitably be destroyed and dissipated. Today, I will guide you all to the realm of Maitreya... Minister of War, send them back to the heavens!”
With that, he raised the sword high and aimed it straight at Shi Changtian’s neck!
Elder Shi sighed deeply, his eyes darkened and closed, waiting for the moment to come—
In that split second, a shadow suddenly flew out from behind the Bhikshu, moving like lightning, and directly collided with his back!
“Peng!”
The Bhikshu had no strength to dodge and was thrown away, landing in a mess of mud, his clothes torn, and the broadsword falling to the side!
Although his face was covered in countless cuts, he didn’t think much about it. He just turned his head frantically to see who could resist the Great Sun Buddha’s universal salvation technique, and his movements were somewhat panicked... But when he turned his head, he met a pair of eyes!
Those eyes were deep and boundless, vast and endless, like a sky full of stars but with a hint of ghostly aura. Through those pupils, he saw an endless abyss, as if walking in the underworld—this sudden glance was like a sharp blade piercing through his eyes, suddenly stabbing deep into his mind!
The weight of someone pressing down on him was no longer important!
The Bhikshu’s head ached, his veins bulging, and his hands pushed and flailed on the ground in a panic. In the chaos, he didn’t know what he had thrown away, but he immediately felt an indescribable sense of relief, as if escaping from the pressure of a thousand-pound stone. With a fierce effort, he stood up!
He opened his eyes wide and saw a young boy, drenched in sweat and gasping for breath, covered in mud—this was the boy who had been secretly observing him, captured by his subordinates, and then possessed by the ghost of Dushiduo, the supreme treasure.
The boy gritted his teeth, his face twisted, ignoring the mud on his head and face, and just panted heavily, his eyes fixed on the Bhikshu, ready to pounce again. The moment their eyes met, he felt the needles in his mind again...
How could he wait?
The Bhikshu let out a strange cry, no longer daring to stay, and turned to run down the mountain, shouting in Tibetan, without a moment’s pause, straight into the reeds by the river.
Supreme Treasure tried to chase after him, but after only a few dozen meters, his legs suddenly gave out, and he fell to the muddy ground—originally, he was also at the end of his strength, unable to do anything more!
This fall left Supreme Treasure dazed and confused. He finally managed to stagger to his feet and saw that the Bhikshu had already disappeared. He reluctantly returned to help Elders Shi and Ji, and Shi Buzhuan to sit up, and bowed, saying:
“Greetings, Masters! I am the grandson of Wang Bayue, the second-generation disciple of the Five Wheel Sect, Supreme Treasure. I greet you, venerable predecessors!”
The three had seen Supreme Treasure suddenly attack the Bhikshu, and although they guessed that he was at odds with the Bhikshu, they didn’t know how he would treat them. Now that he revealed his identity as a Five Wheel Sect disciple, they breathed a sigh of relief. Elder Ji said happily, “So you are a Five Wheel Sect disciple, that’s wonderful! We are from the Dingjia Sect, and we set up this ambush here because we received a paper crane from Baihe… Oh no, those people are escaping!”
Supreme Treasure turned around and saw that several Bhikshus were staggering to their feet. He quickly stood guard in front of the three, but didn’t dare to attack. The Bhikshus fumbled in their pockets, took out black, sticky amrita pills, and swallowed them, then wobbled away.
The three struggled to stand, feeling their bodies still weak and unable to bear the weight. They couldn’t even hold a weapon, let alone stand steadily, so they could only look to Supreme Treasure, who was also drenched in sweat. They realized the current situation—
It was a stalemate, where neither side could gain an advantage, and neither could do anything to the other! No matter how many thoughts you had, if you were too weak to even catch a chicken, it was useless!
Seeing the good situation slip away, the three could only sigh and bury their thoughts.
The Bhikshus continued down the mountain, gradually disappearing. The three turned their attention back to their disciples, and saw that some were beginning to stir—though they didn’t know what the Bhikshus had taken, they knew it was related to their early awakening. They also wondered why Supreme Treasure hadn’t fainted, and exchanged glances, sharing their doubts.
Elder Ji gestured with his eyes, “Don’t rush. Let the disciples recover first, then we can ask in detail.” He coughed and said kindly, “Supreme Treasure, can you fetch some clear water? This technique can only be neutralized with clear water, and I’m really troubling you.”
Supreme Treasure nodded and hurried into the courtyard.
Inside, he saw people lying on the ground, the salt smugglers and the Dingjia Sect disciples in similar disarray, and the Five Wheel Sect disciples tied to the pillars, unconscious, with white foam bubbling from their mouths...
He felt a bit panicked and didn’t know what to do, so he rushed out to give the water scoop to Elder Ji, roughly explaining the situation of the Five Wheel Sect disciples. Elder Ji immediately told him to remove the talisman papers from the disciples’ mouths and pour glutinous rice wine into them...
After all this trouble, the disciples were finally saved!
When the rooster crowed and the sky cleared, the inn gradually returned to its usual state, and Shimen Ferry gradually came alive with people. Everyone felt as if they had just woken from a dream, not knowing what had happened!
