Chapter 8

A group of strong and fit Green Camp soldiers, led by General Suhad, surrounded from all sides, their arrows pointing at Fang Xiaoyu.

In such a situation, if Fang Xiaoyu said he wasn't nervous, it would be a lie. After all, this was the first time he faced such a dangerous situation. It was already quite impressive that he could hold his ground against E'erde's attack.

The two engaged in close combat. Fang Xiaoyu had cultivated the Invincible Body of the Buddha, and his strength was no less than E'erde's.

E'erde's eyes sparkled with a keen light, clearly not expecting Fang Xiaoyu to be so powerful. However, the stronger Fang Xiaoyu performed, the more excited E'erde became, even signaling Suhad and the others not to intervene.

"Master, catch the staff!"

Suddenly, a servant threw a staff to Fang Xiaoyu. Fang Xiaoyu leaped up and reached out to grab it, and at the same time, E'erde also reached for the staff.

The staff was immediately grabbed by both of them. They exchanged a glance, and with a slight release of internal strength, there was a crack, and the staff broke in half.

With a whoosh, Fang Xiaoyu swung the short staff and struck E'erde on the head. E'erde dodged, and his short staff aimed directly at Fang Xiaoyu's heart.

The two exchanged blows, and the situation was extremely dangerous. Fang Xiaoyu was inwardly shocked. When he saw E'erde fight Fang Shiyu in the movie, he thought E'erde was not weak, but now, in real combat, he found E'erde to be even more powerful than he had imagined.

Fang Shiyu's ability to defeat E'erde was really due to great luck. At least in Fang Xiaoyu's view, the current Fang Shiyu was not a match for E'erde. Of course, if Fang Shiyu fought with all his might and E'erde was cautious about his own life, Fang Shiyu might have a chance to kill E'erde.

With a thud, Fang Xiaoyu felt a pain in his shoulder and was forced to step back. E'erde's staff struck his shoulder. If it weren't for the first level of the Invincible Body of the Buddha, this blow would have likely crippled his arm.

However, E'erde was not faring well either. He was hit in the waist by Fang Xiaoyu, and the short staff was broken. E'erde was now clutching his waist in pain.

Seeing this, Suhad shouted wildly, "Archers, shoot!"

Arrows immediately rained down on Fang Xiaoyu. Fang Xiaoyu, enduring the pain in his shoulder, dashed towards a rockery in the garden.

Just as the arrows were about to hit him, the rockery wall suddenly flipped, and Fang Xiaoyu slipped into a hidden passage. The dozens of arrows were blocked by the flipped stone slab.

Suhad, taken aback, shouted, "Quick, chase him! Don't let a single rebel escape!"

The Green Camp soldiers rushed forward, determined to level the rockery. E'erde, however, frowned and stared at the rockery.

In the secret passage, Fang Xiaoyu lit a match and ignited a fuse in front of him. A cold smile appeared on his lips. "I've been preparing for this day. If I hadn't, wouldn't I be a laughingstock to all the穿越者 (time travelers) who came before me?"

Although Fang Xiaoyu had been living in Shaolin Temple, it didn't mean he was completely out of touch. He had set up countless traps and secret passages in the large Fang residence, all for this day.

If he hadn't wanted to test the gap between his cultivation and E'erde's, Fang Xiaoyu would have had enough confidence to lead Fang Shiyu and the others to safety without confronting E'erde.

Watching the fuse sizzle and spread rapidly behind him, Fang Xiaoyu turned and ran.

With a deafening explosion, the entire back garden was engulfed in flames. Dozens of Green Camp soldiers digging at the rockery were instantly blown to pieces.

E'erde's pores bristled with cold sweat, a sense of mortal danger overwhelming him. Almost instinctively, he pulled the fat Suhad in front of him as a shield and dove out of the garden.

A terrifying shockwave hit, and countless fragments of rock and debris pelted Suhad, turning his body into a bloody mess.

E'erde rolled over the wall and landed behind a flower bed. Debris, broken limbs, and mud rained down from above.

His head ringing, E'erde finally staggered to his feet. Through the collapsed wall, he saw that the back garden, dozens of feet away, was now a wasteland, with dozens of Green Camp soldiers dead, their blood staining the entire garden.

"Damn it, Fang De, Fang Xiaoyu, I, E'erde, will not rest until I kill you!"

Ignoring E'erde's raging fury and his order to seal off the entire city of Guangzhou, squads of soldiers were dispatched to search for Fang Xiaoyu and the others.

Meanwhile, Fang Xiaoyu, Fang De, and the others had gathered in a simple courtyard. When Fang Xiaoyu appeared, Lei Tingting, the newlywed, let out a sigh of relief.

Confused, Lei Laohu, wearing only a white robe, slapped Fang Xiaoyu on the shoulder and cursed, "Damn it, wasn't it supposed to be peace? What is your old Fang family up to!"

Lei Laohu hit Fang Xiaoyu's injured shoulder, causing him to grunt in pain. Lei Tingting pushed Lei Laohu away and gently supported Fang Xiaoyu, saying, "Husband, what's wrong? Where are you hurt? Let me see..."

Lei Laohu rubbed his bald head and cursed, "Damn it, I've raised this daughter for nothing!"

Fang De and Miao Cuifang looked at Fang Xiaoyu with concern. Fang Xiaoyu patted Lei Tingting's hand and smiled at everyone, "Don't worry, it's just a minor injury."

Seeing Fang Xiaoyu's rosy complexion, they all breathed a sigh of relief, as he didn't seem to be seriously injured.

Fang Xiaoyu walked up to Fang De and said, "Father, E'erde's target is you and the Red Flower Society's roster in your possession. We must leave Guangzhou."

Fang De looked at Fang Xiaoyu in surprise, "Xiaoyu, how do you know...?"

Fang Xiaoyu smiled slightly, "Father, don't worry about that. I know what I need to know. Let's leave Guangzhou first."

Lei Laohu's eyes widened as he stared at Fang De and suddenly shouted, "Damn it, father-in-law, you've betrayed me!"

Fang Shiyu stepped forward and said to Fang Xiaoyu, "Brother, you must have a plan. Tell us how to leave."

Fang Xiaoyu rolled his eyes at Fang Shiyu, and everyone looked at him, clearly curious about his plan to leave Guangzhou.

After all, the city was clearly under strict lockdown, and it would be impossible for even a fly to escape.

Fang Xiaoyu clapped his hands, and the door creaked open. An old man carrying a bundle walked in and respectfully handed it to Fang Xiaoyu.

Fang Xiaoyu opened the bundle, and several sets of Green Camp uniforms appeared before everyone. Seeing the uniforms, everyone understood.

It was clear that Fang Xiaoyu had meticulously prepared for this day, even planning how to leave the city after it was sealed.

As long as they disguised themselves as Green Camp soldiers, no one would suspect that Fang Xiaoyu and his group were hiding among the soldiers searching the city.

Soon, everyone changed into the uniforms, including Lei Tingting and Miao Cuifang, who were also disguised. They were unrecognizable unless closely examined.

As the sky began to lighten, Fang Xiaoyu patted Fang Shiyu's shoulder and said, "Shiyu, protect everyone as we leave the city."

Fang Shiyu couldn't help but ask, "Brother, aren't you leaving with us?"
