050_Exploration of the 7th Floor
■■■■■■■■■■
It's the 61st day since my reincarnation. Today, we are exploring the 7th floor of the dungeon. We immediately use Dungeon Move to teleport to the 7th floor upon entering the dungeon.
We can teleport instantly, but ordinary explorers take several days for a round trip. Once someone has defeated the boss, they can use a shortcut to the boss room to move to the next floor, but we don't need that.
"Wow, the 7th floor is full of lizards."
Upon using Detailed Appraisal, I see it's a Fire Lizard Level 24. It's about three meters long, has red skin, and is spewing fire from its mouth. Moreover, it has six legs.
"Can Rose defeat it?"
She shakes her head. It seems she can't. Maybe her level isn't high enough.
"Hmm, do you dislike fire? I see, you're a plant, after all."
Rose, who can assert herself, is quite clever. I wonder if she'll be able to speak if she becomes a mid-level or high-level spirit?
Do spirits even grow? I'll have to verify that while exploring the dungeon.
Since it's cruel to make Rose fight something she dislikes, I'll just beat it up normally.
"Rosalina is unarmed, so be careful."
"Understood."
She readies her mithril two-handed sword.
"Annelise, use a preemptive attack with magic. Then, Gandarban, use Anger Lock. After that, beat it up as usual. Be careful of its fire breath."
Everyone nods.
"Let's go. Mana Slash."
Fire magic won't be effective against a fire attribute creature, so I use the non-elemental Mana Slash.
The Mana Slash hits the Fire Lizard, and it charges at us with its six legs.
The movement of its legs is interesting. They don't move in parallel; the front two and the back one move in opposite directions.
The Fire Lizard opens its mouth. Is it going to use a breath attack!?
"Anger Lock!"
Gwooo.
The soldiers avoid the breath attack behind Gandarban, but one of them uses her spear like a pole vault to leap over Gandarban and the Fire Lizard.
She is the catgirl Lin, a soldier who is agile despite her lack of strength.
Rosalina also dodged the breath attack by jumping.
They attack from the vulnerable rear.
Gandarban and the three soldiers use their shields to block the breath attack, but they don't completely defend against it.
"Heal."
Gandarban and the three soldiers' HP is restored. This is a skill of the Reincarnated Hero, Holy Magic.
Today, my main job is Enchanter, and my sub-job is Reincarnated Hero. I didn't plan to develop the Reincarnated Hero, but now that I know demons exist, I should level it up.
Outside, being a Reincarnated Hero is a landmine, but inside the dungeon, there are few appraisers, so it should be fine.
"Saint Attack."
Dokan. Parin.
"I... I killed it..."
I had over 120 STP, so I maxed out my INT, and the magic was incredibly strong.
"Master, what was that?"
"A holy attribute attack."
It's a spell I learned from the Reincarnated Hero's Holy Magic (Low).
"For Jojok and the others' training, please hold back a bit."
Gandarban looks resigned. I'm sorry.
When I max out my INT, my MATK exceeds 600. Gandarban's Iron-Arm Knight has a DEF of around 200 with equipment and skills. That's three times the attack power!
Moreover, the MP cost of Saint Attack is only 5 points. What great fuel efficiency!
"The dropped item seems to be a fire magic stone."
Rosalina picks up the magic stone, and Annelise identifies it as a fire magic stone.
The magic stone is red and looks like it has a fire attribute. Detailed Appraisal confirms it's an E-rank fire magic stone.
Attribute magic stones are reportedly more expensive than regular magic stones.
"Master, as Gandarban said, please exercise restraint."
"O-Okay, I understand."
I was also reprimanded by Annelise.
Next, a blue lizard appears. It's an Aqua Lizard Level 24. It's a different color, and water is dripping from its mouth. It's not drooling, right?
"Is it okay?"
Rose indicates it's fine with a gesture.
"Can you block its mouth?"
She nods.
"Annelise."
"Yes. Mana Slash."
Annelise starts the battle with the same spell as before.
Gandarban uses Anger Lock.
Rosalina, Jojok, Bartz, Lin, and Solidia charge in.
"Enchant Ice."
I cast Enchant Ice on Rosalina. Since my STP is reset, it's normal damage. However, with the Reincarnated Hero as my sub-job, the damage is higher than if I were just an Enchanter.
"Sei!"
Jojok, the lizardman swordsman, lands a good hit.
The Aqua Lizard twists its body in discomfort, and its thick, log-like tail almost hits Rosalina, but she dodges it effortlessly.
"Power Attack!"
Gandarban's Power Attack skill triples his ATK, making it very powerful.
"Slash!"
The skill of the swordsman Jojok and Bartz. This also triples their ATK.
"Triple Thrust!"
The skill of the spearman Lin and Solidia. This quadruples their ATK.
All skills become highly effective when their proficiency reaches (Intermediate). However, the ATK values of the swordsman and spearman are lower than Gandarban's Iron-Arm Knight.
Gandarban uses a steel one-handed sword, while the swordsman and spearman use two-handed weapons, but Gandarban's ATK is still higher. Even with the same ATK multiplier, Gandarban deals more damage.
"Rush!"
Rosalina's skill increases her ATK by 30 and triples her attack speed.
"Mana Slash."
Annelise's non-elemental magic finishes off the Aqua Lizard.
This time, there was no breath attack, and it ended quickly. Did they avoid attacking me? Is that it? Is it a form of harassment?
The dropped item is an E-rank water magic stone.
Next, a green lizard appears. It's an Aero Lizard Level 25. It's making a wheezing sound. Does it have asthma?
"Firestorm."
A fire tornado engulfs and burns the Aero Lizard.
The enraged Aero Lizard charges.
"Anger Lock."
The hostility is directed at Gandarban, and the Aero Lizard opens its mouth. Thorns wrap around its mouth, blocking it. The thorns pierce the Aero Lizard's tough skin, causing it pain.
"I blocked the breath attack. Finish it quickly."
I also attack with Saint Attack. This time, I don't instantly kill it. However, the Aero Lizard's movements suddenly stop.
"What happened?"
The Aero Lizard disappears.
"It seems to have petrified."
I remember what Annelise said.
"Is it the effect of Gargoyle Buster?"
The two swordsmen, Jojok and Bartz, are equipped with Gargoyle Buster. It seems the petrification was triggered by Jojok's attack.
"When petrification is triggered, the creature stops moving and disappears."
"That's right."
Rosalina picks up the dropped item, which is an E-rank wind magic stone. So, the next one will be earth, right?
Here comes the Sand Lizard Level 25. It's not earth but sand. Its body color is yellowish, and sand is trickling from its mouth. There's no sand in this area, so it's one of the dungeon's mysteries.
We beat it up. Rose blocks the breath attack. It's going smoothly. Thinking about it, everyone except me is Level 28. It's not that the attribute lizards are weak, but that we are strong.
The dropped item is, for some reason, an E-rank earth magic stone. It's earth, not sand. It feels a bit off, doesn't it? (laughs)
The petrification from Gargoyle Buster didn't activate. It didn't activate for the Fire Lizard and Aqua Lizard either, so it might be resisted. The Sand Lizard, in particular, seems resistant to petrification.
We progress smoothly through the 7th floor. Since Rose is weak against Fire Lizards, she can't block their breath attacks. Instead, I max out my INT and use a full-power Saint Attack to instantly kill them, or I use Item Box Ho Ho to deal with them.
I haven't used Item Box Ho Ho in a while, but it can collect anything. Everyone else contributes, and we advance without any danger.
After defeating about 20 of them, my Treasure Hunting skill reacts.
It's good that I set my sub-job to Explorer during movement.
"Over there."
There it is, a treasure chest. This time, there's no hidden passage, and we find the treasure chest normally.
There's a possibility it's a Treasure Box Monster, so I use Detailed Appraisal. It's a normal treasure chest, but it has a trap.
"There's a trap. Wait a moment."
I change my main job to Assassin and use the Trap skill to disarm the trap on the treasure chest.
"Alright, it's safe now."
"What's inside? I'm excited."
"Shall Rose open it?"
"Is it okay?"
"Yes, there's no trap now, so it's fine."
Rosalina, who looks happy, thanks me and opens the treasure chest. Her smile is a treasure to me.
"Master, there's a book inside."
"A book...?"
Peeking into the treasure chest, I see a magic book.
"Ooooh!"
Finding a magic book is good luck.
The question is who will use it. I'll think about it when we return to the mansion and store it in the item box.
We continue to defeat dozens of lizards and reach the boss room of the 7th floor. Of course, we intend to defeat the boss.
During the break, I check everyone's status.
Everyone has leveled up to Level 31. I've also leveled up my Enchanter to Level 29 and my Reincarnated Hero to Level 26.
