Chapter 126: You Really Deserve to Die

Luo Qinghan ordered someone to take the prince’s seal.

Yang Kaiguang had never seen the prince, and he didn’t know what the prince looked like, but he knew what the prince’s seal looked like.

When he saw the prince’s seal in front of him with his own eyes, he finally had to accept the reality. The handsome man standing in front of him at this time was indeed His Royal Highness the Prince!

Yang Kaiguang froze in place like a lightning strike, and it took a long time before he gradually recovered.

He never expected that the dignified prince would condescend to make a private visit to Gangu County!

Then didn’t the prince know all the things he did during this time?!

When he thought of this, Yang Kaiguang was cold all over, and his hands and feet trembled uncontrollably.

He stumbled and said: “Magistrate, Magistrate Yang Kaiguang, meet His Royal Highness the Prince. Magistrate doesn’t know that His Royal Highness is here. If you lose your welcome, Magistrate deserves to die!”

Luo Qinghan said coldly: “You really deserve to die.”

Yang Kaiguang was so frightened that he was a fierce spirit again, and he sweated out in a cold sweat.

He was really afraid that the prince would kill himself on impulse.

“Royal Highness, spare my life, Magistrate can explain! The reason why Magistrate blocked the city gate was to prevent the people in the city from suffering from the scourge of foreign disasters. Don’t you know that the victims outside are very fierce, and they are very hungry. They can do anything. Many innocent people were stolen and robbed by them before, and Magistrate had no choice but to drive them out of the city.”

Nie Changping clicked his tongue: “How do you explain the entry fee of ten taels of silver?”

“The entry fee of ten taels of silver is indeed a bit expensive, but in this situation, there are victims who can’t eat everywhere. I can only rely on this kind of less glorious means to earn money, and then use the money in exchange for food to help those poor victims.”

Nie Changping sneered: “So, you did a good thing instead?”

Yang Kaiguang smiled dryly: “It’s not a good thing, Magistrate just wants to do something for the people.”

Nie Changping wanted to see how this old guy could make it up, so he continued to ask.

“You collect a lot of taxes from the people and force the people to build palaces day and night. What do you say about this?”

Yang Kaiguang smiled flatteringly: “Royal Highness the Prince has come to Gangu County not far away. There is nothing in the county to entertain His Royal Highness. I wanted to build a palace for the prince. The money for the construction of the palace was given voluntarily by the local squires, and they also wanted to make His Royal Highness live more comfortably in our Gangu County, completely out of kindness. As for the ordinary people who work hard… their families are too poor to open the pot. I asked them to build a palace and pack them two meals a day. It can be regarded as giving them a bite to eat.”

“Okay, I believe all these things. What about the large number of lost children in the city?”

When Yang Kaiguang heard this, his face changed slightly.

Just when Nie Changping thought that Yang Kaiguang was going to excuse himself again, he saw that the old guy actually admitted it.

“Those children were indeed caught by magistrate!”

Nie Changping didn’t expect him to admit it so readily. He was taken aback for a moment, and then asked, “As an officer, why do you do this kind of thing?”

Yang Kaiguang said bitterly: “Magistrate has no choice. It’s not raining here, and the crops in the ground have been dried to death. If this continues in the long run, I’m afraid that the entire people of Gangu County will starve to death.”

“What does this matter have to do with the children?”
