Zhang Yang let out a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders. He put away his ID card in the pocket of his jacket. After a day and night of relentless knowledge supplementation, Zhang Yang had a rough idea of his current situation. His name was Zhang Yang, a male, and he was twenty years old. As a graduate of a nursing school, he was considered quite old for his age. His home address was No. 16 Anti-Imperial Road, West Gate, Chunyang County, less than three kilometers away from the county people's hospital. Zhang Yang had a habit of keeping a diary. From the past entries, he understood the inner world of the current Zhang Yang. His father died when he was one year old, and his mother, Xu Lihua, remarried to his current husband, Zhao Tiesheng. Zhao Tiesheng already had two sons and a daughter, and naturally, he did not treat Zhang Yang, the stepson, with any kindness. The diary revealed Zhang Yang's deep resentment towards Zhao Tiesheng's family.

Chen Guowei looked at the dry instant noodles in Zhang Yang's hand and patted his shoulder sympathetically. "Eating instant noodles all the time is bad for your stomach. The hospital canteen has decent food. Don't be too frugal."

Zhang Yang nodded and said straightforwardly, "I have no money!"

Chen Guowei, who knew a bit about Zhang Yang's family background, sighed. "Come on, I'll treat you tonight!"

Zhang Yang didn't stand on ceremony and followed Chen Guowei to the canteen, where he had a hearty meal. Chen Guowei's father was the head of the finance department at a state-owned enterprise in Jiangcheng, and the family was well-off. He was usually generous, and the reason he invited Zhang Yang to eat was partly out of sympathy. Of course, there was another reason: Zhang Yang had offended Dean Zhou, beaten a patient outside the hospital, and skipped work today. These three incidents together were enough for the hospital to send him back to the nursing school. This meal had a bit of a farewell dinner feel to it.

Zhang Yang finished two servings of braised pork and three servings of rice, then buried his head in the white porcelain bowl to finish the tomato and egg soup. Since arriving in the 1990s, he hadn't had a proper meal, and he was indeed very hungry.

Chen Guowei watched Zhang Yang in amazement. This guy could really eat! He didn't know that Zhang Yang had been hungry for over 1,300 years, and this amount of food was nothing to him.

Zhang Yang wiped his lips and let out a comfortable burp. His gaze towards Chen Guowei became much warmer. One should not forget the well-digger when drinking water. Since Chen Guowei had treated him to a meal, he naturally had to be more friendly.

Chen Guowei blinked and stood up. "Well... you go back to the dormitory first, I'll go check on the emergency room..." Interns didn't have emergency shifts, but many still went to the emergency room every night to learn more.

Zhang Yang nodded and left the canteen with Chen Guowei. They found that it had started drizzling. Thinking there was nothing to do back at the dormitory, he decided to follow Chen Guowei to the emergency room.

The two ran towards the emergency room in the drizzle. Before they even reached it, they heard the urgent sound of ambulances approaching. Five ambulances parked in front of the emergency room one after another. The doctors and nurses in the emergency department rushed out, and many interns followed. Zhang Yang immediately spotted Hong Ling and the school beauty, Zuo Xiaqing, among the rescue team.

A tall young doctor was busy directing the scene. The ambulances had brought fifteen injured people, the result of a scaffolding collapse at the tax bureau building in the southeast of the county. Although no one had died at the scene, fifteen seriously injured workers was a very serious incident.

The emergency room of the county hospital was still quite weak in medical resources. Including the otorhinolaryngology and pediatrics departments, there were only five doctors on the scene. The young doctor directing the operation was a bone specialist named Gao Wei, a graduate of the 1989 class of Jiangcheng Medical University and a senior to Hong Ling and Chen Guowei. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation. Gao Wei directed the injured to be moved into the emergency room and instructed Hong Ling to contact the on-duty doctors from other departments.

Seeing Chen Guowei and Zhang Yang standing there as spectators, Gao Wei shouted angrily, "You two, go help measure blood pressure!"

Chen Guowei hurriedly nodded and followed a stretcher inside. Zhang Yang knew the basics of diagnosis, but he had no idea how to measure blood pressure. A nurse handed him a sphygmomanometer and pointed towards Zuo Xiaqing, indicating he should measure the blood pressure of the patient she was attending to.

Zhang Yang walked over. Zuo Xiaqing, clearly experiencing such an emergency for the first time, had a pale face due to tension. A strand of her long hair, hidden under her white cap, had escaped, adding a touch of charm. Zhang Yang inwardly praised her, "What a beauty!"

Zuo Xiaqing immediately noticed Zhang Yang's gaze on her face and glared at him angrily. "Measure the blood pressure!"

"I don't know how," Zhang Yang said honestly.

Zuo Xiaqing bit her lower lip. A medical intern who didn't even know how to measure blood pressure, a basic skill, was truly a mystery. She snatched the sphygmomanometer from Zhang Yang's hand, rolled up the patient's sleeve, and then noticed that both of the patient's arms were deformed. She panicked and looked for Gao Wei. "Teacher Gao!"

Gao Wei was busy stopping the bleeding of a severely injured patient and couldn't attend to her request.

Zhang Yang immediately saw that the patient had only dislocated elbows. He smiled faintly and grabbed the patient's left arm.

Zuo Xiaqing exclaimed, "What are you doing?" In her view, the patient had likely broken his arm, and moving the injured limb could cause further dislocation.

Zhang Yang ignored her, supporting the patient's upper arm with his left hand and grabbing his wrist with his right. With a gentle pull, there was a click, and the patient's left arm was successfully repositioned.

In a moment, he also repositioned the patient's right arm. Zuo Xiaqing stared at Zhang Yang in amazement. She was the only one who saw what Zhang Yang had done. A nursing school graduate with such proficient bone repositioning skills, and from the shape of the patient's arms, she could tell that Zhang Yang had cured the dislocated arms with just a few movements.

Zhang Yang gave her a mysterious smile, and Zuo Xiaqing's face flushed. She then returned to reality, picked up the sphygmomanometer, and measured the patient's blood pressure. Zhang Yang watched her curiously, finding even the simplest task of measuring blood pressure quite novel.
