In the County Party Secretary's office, where a bright party flag hung, Yang Zixuan sat across from Su Nan, handing over the initial draft of the Honghe Economic Development Zone document and a plan for developing the tourism resources of Tianma Mountain.

Yang Zixuan knew that such private consultations with Su Nan at this stage offered him little benefit, so he rarely sought out Su Nan. Su Nan, on the other hand, couldn't bring himself to actively seek out a young man nearly twenty years his junior for consultations.

The documents highlighted the advantages of Hongshui County from various aspects and the leading cluster effect of the Economic Development Zone, with detailed analysis. Su Nan had to admit that if he were the Party Secretary of the city, he would be tempted by these documents. Su Nan thought Yang Zixuan was somewhat idealistic but wouldn't point it out directly. He smiled and said, "County Chief, it seems the county government has put a lot of effort into these two documents. They look well done, but the Hongshui Economic Development Zone was already decided by the municipal government to be unsuitable for our county. It was put on hold. Now, bringing it up again might not be appropriate."

Su Nan was a new local faction member in Luofu Province, but the local faction was not a monolithic entity. There was little interaction between the local faction where Tang Lu was from and Su Nan's local faction. However, on major issues, they would still choose to align their positions. "What do you think of the Economic Development Zone? Our county government believes that the establishment of the Economic Development Zone will significantly boost the economy of Hongshui County. Therefore, we hope the county party committee will support this project and fully commit to it!"

Su Nan's mind raced. There was something more to Yang Zixuan's words. In the Standing Committee, Yang Zixuan already had considerable influence. Why was he seeking support from him?

"Secretary, I heard that Deputy Governor Zhang recently retired and joined the CPPCC!" Yang Zixuan suddenly said as Su Nan was thinking.

Su Nan's pupils contracted. With Yang Zixuan's reminder, he suddenly understood the true intention behind Yang Zixuan's consultation, though it was still a bit vague. Clearly, Yang Zixuan wanted to leverage the power of the faction to secure the Economic Development Zone slot!

Yang Zixuan smiled faintly. He had never expected Su Nan to agree immediately. Even though the Economic Development Zone project would greatly benefit Hongshui County, as a politician, Su Nan couldn't ignore the other interests and losses!

Politicians don't act without benefit. Without an exchange of interests, Su Nan wouldn't help.

"Secretary, I think this reform is a trend. Sometimes, we really need to change our mindset!" Yang Zixuan smiled faintly, then picked up the documents on the table and continued, "Please consider my words carefully!"

With that, Yang Zixuan strode out of the door. As he opened it, he happened to meet Huang He walking over.

Huang He's eyes widened in surprise when he saw Yang Zixuan coming out of Su Nan's office. Most people in the county party compound knew that Yang Zixuan, the head of the government, rarely came to report to Su Nan. He never expected to see this today!
