Chapter 39

After taking the call, Xiao Yu returned, and the negotiation became much easier.

Li Wendong's attitude changed dramatically. He highly praised the advertising plan presented by Meng Ren and Shengshi, and he couldn't stop praising Xiao Yu's creativity and the classic advertising slogan "Shake before drinking."

However, this was a significant matter, and he needed to report to the headquarters and get the general manager's approval before the final contract could be signed.

Before leaving, Li Wendong held Xiao Yu's hand and said enthusiastically, "In my personal opinion, there's basically no problem. We can sign the contract in the next one or two days. President Xiao, I'm counting on you this summer."

Leaving the Ice Valley Company's Beijing branch, Gu Hongzhou was still a bit dazed. For him, things had changed too quickly.

Xiao Xing patted his right shoulder, "Old Gu, you're good at technology, but you're not professional enough in business. Don't come to such occasions in the future. You almost ruined our plan just now."

"You... did you discuss this beforehand?"

Was such a small amount of coordination necessary?

Had the Meng Ren Big Three been wasting their time for the past two years?

Every word and action was part of the act!

"Alright, Xiao Xing, don't pressure Old Gu. Old Gu is a good person. If he weren't like that, could you trust him to work with you?" Xiao Yu patted Gu Hongzhou's left shoulder, "Don't take it to heart, maintain your strengths."

Is... this a consolation?

Gu Hongzhou was at a loss whether to laugh or cry.

Xiao Yu continued, "We've secured this deal. For the actors, Old Gu, you need to put in some effort and select suitable candidates from our company's members."

"I'm the director!"

Xiao Xing's subtext was clear: the actors should be chosen by the director.

Then you choose them.

Xiao Yu definitely supported his brother, and Gu Hongzhou didn't mind, as the Ice Valley Orchard advertisement didn't have high requirements for the actors.

This time, the advertisement had very little focus on the actors, unlike the Dove chocolate ad Liu Tao shot, which had many close-up and special shots, allowing the audience to clearly see her actions, expressions, and appearance for most of the time, leaving a deep impression.

Therefore, Xiao Yu didn't plan to use Liu Tao for this advertisement.

"Boss, are you sure you won't let your 'Sister Tao' act?"

Back at the company, with the door closed, Xiao Xing asked Xiao Yu. His tone was slightly teasing, still thinking about Xiao Yu's age.

You direct, and Sister Tao acts...

That was just a slip of the tongue, or else how could Xiao Yu have almost revealed his age?

Xiao Yu gave him a glare, "From today, you select ads for her. Quality over quantity, and only for brand companies. Give her more time to focus on her acting, and we'll talk about her value when she acts in TV dramas."

TV dramas...

"Is Old Su in the trap? What did he call you for today?"

Su Youpeng contacted Xiao Yu today to ask for the song's title and to discuss the copyright issues of the song.

Indeed, he really liked that song.

Xiao Xing smacked his lips and sighed, "The rumors don't match the reality. Such a big star actually likes the song you wrote on the spot, and the first line is even a grammatical error."

"Get lost!"

After the banter, Xiao Xing called Zhang Xiaoquan and gathered around the computer with Xiao Yu to review the member profiles and select actors for the advertisement.

The process of selecting actors gave a sense of accomplishment, as if one had the power to decide others' fates.

Xiao Xing and Zhang Xiaoquan were very excited. They went through the company's member profiles according to the actors' images in the advertising plan, circled the suitable candidates, and prepared to have Deng Chao arrange for the members to be notified for auditions.

The two of them enthusiastically selected for over an hour, while Xiao Yu yawned out of boredom and eventually fell asleep leaning back in his chair.

"Boss, you're too unprofessional! At such an important moment for selecting actors, you actually fell asleep and started snoring!"

"Yu'er, wake up, take a look at the candidates we've chosen."

Xiao Yu rubbed his face and asked sleepily, "How many did you choose?"

"A total of seventy-two. I plan to hold auditions over three days, with preliminary and final rounds. I've already thought of the questions for the preliminary round..."

Are you crazy?

A few hundred yuan for the role, is it necessary to make such a big deal?

Choosing seventy-two people, when the company has only about two hundred members!

Dividing three days into preliminary and final rounds, aren't you afraid of wasting others' time? I'm already annoyed by the hassle!

Pushing Xiao Xing and Zhang Xiaoquan aside, Xiao Yu quickly browsed through the profiles on the computer and selected one man and one woman within a few minutes.

The woman was Li Xue, who had competed with Wang Chuhan for the stage design company's promotional video and was punished by Xiao Yu for speaking out of turn. This time, choosing her was part of a carrot-and-stick strategy, mainly to prevent her sister Li Bingbing.

The man was Lu, named Lu Jianjun, about thirty years old, a chef at a five-star hotel, and had a chubby, cheerful appearance.

"Just these two!"

...

Ice Valley Company responded quickly.

The next day, Li Wendong called, and the advertising plan was personally approved by the general manager. The advertising slogan "Shake before drinking" received unanimous approval from the company's upper management, and they even remade the drink packaging to include the slogan.

The contract was signed, and the production fees were in place. Shengshi quickly set up the stage, and Meng Ren notified the members to come for auditions.

This advertisement had very little focus on the actors, and the requirements were not high. The auditions were just a formality to show the company's professionalism.

"Thank you, President Xiao!" Li Xue was very happy. After Xiao Yu punished her last time, he said he would find her to shoot an ad if there was an opportunity, and she had been waiting for Xiao Yu to contact her. "I thought you had forgotten about me!"

"I always keep my word. By the way, did you tell your sister what I said last time?"

"I told her, but she didn't believe me and said you were a fraud."

"What about you?"

"I believe you!"

That's enough.

Li Bingbing had been in the industry for six or seven years. Although she wasn't a big star, she wasn't short of roles and wasn't easy to deceive.

However, winning Li Xue's trust was enough for Xiao Yu. At least she wouldn't spread her sister's words to the members, causing unnecessary trouble.

"President Xiao, can you arrange for me to shoot two more ads? School is about to break for the summer, and I have to intern at the radio station. I'll be very busy and might not have time to shoot ads."

"Sure, I'll talk to Shengshi. It won't interfere with your studies, right? Don't blame me if you fail a course."

"That won't happen!"

After confirming Li Xue, the next was Lu Jianjun.

Because he was a chef, he had a good living condition and a plump, cheerful appearance.

He had been a member of Meng Ren for almost two months but had never shot an ad or even had an audition. He was envious of the other members who got auditions and signed contracts.

When he received the call last night, notifying him to come to the company for an audition, he couldn't believe it when he saw Xiao Yu.

"President Xiao, are you kidding me? Are you really letting me shoot an ad?"

"Kidding? Aren't you afraid of ruining the company again?"

The pressure was always there.

"Hehe, wasn't I deceived last time? How about this, come to my place for dinner tonight, and I'll cook for you as an apology."

"Just a joke, don't take it seriously. You're very suitable for this ad, but I need a ten-year-old boy to play your son in the ad. He should be cute and not too thin. Do you have any suitable candidates?"

Lu Jianjun answered without hesitation, "Yes, I have a nephew named Lu Han, who is very cute..."
