“So…what do you need me to do?”

Compared to the flustered Lu Guo Hua, Lu Ding Ning’s handsome face had a calm maturity that belied her age.

In fact, there was one more thing that Lu Ding Ning had failed to inform Lu Guo Hua of.

She had been considered as a potential heir to the Smith Family from the time her mother, Shu Zhi Lan, married Mr. Smith; and he had spared no expense to train her.

Lu Ding Ning initially wasn’t interested in Smith’s inheritance at all. But one day, Mr. Smith’s youngest son’s insulting manner and open humiliation of her mother had become something that she could no longer bear. After that day, it was as if she had transformed into a different person altogether.

Once resistant to management courses and other assorted knowledge, she voraciously devoured any information she could get her hands on. It was because she knew that only the most capable and successful man of each generation could become the successor of the Smith’s.

If she could prove her worth in the Smith family, her mother, Shu Zhi Lan, would no longer be bullied!

It was her eagerness to learn that had set her apart from the rest of her generation at the Smith’s.

Just this year, Lu Ding Ning had become the successor of the Smith family despite her status as a stepchild. This not only meant that she had to have outstanding talent, but also couldn’t be discovered as a woman! The enormity of this was known only to her alone.

As a result of her upbringing, Lu Ding Ning had developed a calmness and wisdom that her peers did not have.

Lu Ding Ning actually did not want to tell her father any of these things. Despite having left her father when she was still young, she still remembered her father’s pampering and indulgence toward her.

If her father knew how hard her childhood had been over the years, it would just make him sad.

“Originally, I was just going to ask for your advice and help to help me find your brother… But now, I’ve thought of something better!”

When Lu Guo Hua said this last sentence, his eyes fell on the face that was almost identical to Lu Yi Ning’s.

“Previously, your brother was in charge of getting Zong Jize, the founder of the Trono Group, to collaborate with RM Software. This collaboration would most likely tide us through the immediate crisis. But Zong Jize has a strange quirk. He doesn’t really like it when the person in charge changes during the collaboration. Several software companies have been turned away from Trono Mobile in the past because they changed their person in charge halfway through the process….”

“That’s why I’d like you to temporarily replace your brother and get in contact with the Trono Group. You might also need to take your brother’s place at various events and manage some of RM Software’s affairs. I’d assign you a capable assistant, of course…“

After saying all his thoughts, Lu Guo Hua looked at Lu Ding Ning with some hesitation. Unexpectedly, Lu Ding Ning answered with one word.

“Okay.”

This answer made Lu Guo Hua freeze for a moment before responding: “Ning Ning, don’t you blame me?”

Asking a girl to pretend to be a boy. The mere thought of some of the dilemmas she might end up encountering felt unbearable for Lu Guo Hua.

But to his surprise, his daughter agreed without any hesitation.

“No complaints!”

The corner of Lu Ding Ning’s lips raised a little and said, “RM Software is your life’s work. Mum said you were developing this software even before my brother and I were born. So, RM should be in the same position in your mind as your children! I also don’t want your life’s work to go to waste.”

Hearing these words, Lu Guo Hua’s eyes reddened slightly.

People say that daughters are their parents’ ‘little cotton-padded jackets’[1]. That statement was completely correct in every sense of the words.

Even if they hadn’t seen each other for years, his little cotton-padded jacket was still the first person to think about him from his perspective…

After calming his inner agitation for a moment, Lu Guo Hua took out a cell phone and called someone over.

The man came over quickly.

Lu Ding Ning had only had half a cup of tea with Lu Guo Hua, when a young gentleman in his early twenties wearing a pair of silver-framed glasses entered the Lu mansion.

The man’s eyes, hidden behind his silver-framed glasses, suddenly lit up when he saw Lu Ding Ning sitting together with Lu Guo Hua.

“Young Master Lu?”

The man’s reaction was as Lu Guo Hua expected.

This is because he had also reacted the same way when he had just met Lu Ding Ning earlier.

As for Lu Ding Ning, she knew that the person was calling out for her brother. With a lazy expression in her almond-shaped eyes and a smile on the corner of her lips, it made her androgynous face all the more handsome and beautiful.

“Xi Yuan, this isn’t Yi Ning – it’s Ding Ning. Yi Ning’s twin…brother!”

After momentarily hesitating, Lu Guo Hua managed to complete his statement. After a brief pause, Lu Guo Hua continued, “For the rest of this time, it will be up to him to replace Yi Ning and resume our contact with the Trono Group.”

“Ning, this is Ruan Si Yuan. He was your brother’s special assistant, and is the best person to ask about anything pertaining to your brother. With him by your side, you’ll be able to get any information you need straight away.

After hearing Lu Guo Hua’s introduction, Lu Ding Ning nodded with a smile.

That was how the girl Lu Ding Ning became the boy Lu Yi Ning.

[1]: Little cotton-padded jackets – Refers to the intimacy between daughters and parents.

Cotton-padded jackets are usually worn to keep people warm during winter.
