Chapter 04: Who Are You Looking For?

"Sir, who are you looking for?" After taking a few steps, Lin Yi was stopped by the security guard of the building.

"Just a moment, let me check." Lin Yi thought to himself, the big city is really more formal, even with security guards, but this guard is just for show, not as tough as Er Gouzi.

Er Gouzi was a playmate of Lin Yi's. Although he didn't know martial arts, one punch from him could kill a bull. In Lin Yi's eyes, this guard was far inferior to a bull, not nearly as strong.

Lin Yi fished out a piece of paper from his pocket, glanced at the words on it, and said, "I'm looking for Chu Pengzhan."

"Chu Pengzhan? Who is he? Why does this name sound so familiar?" The guard was taken aback, muttering the name to himself.

"The chairman!" The older guard standing nearby, who was quicker to react, immediately remembered who Chu Pengzhan was. He was startled and quickly tugged at the other guard's sleeve, whispering, "Don't talk nonsense, or the captain will fire you!"

"Ah!" The other guard was startled by the older guard's words, his eyes wide with fear, regretting his earlier chatter. How could he not recognize the chairman? What kind of security guard was he? Who was he supposed to protect?

However, the guard glanced at Lin Yi's attire and, with a quick turn of his eyes, was no longer afraid. No matter how he looked at Lin Yi, he didn't seem like someone who could be connected to the chairman. One was the chairman of a world-renowned large group, and the other was a migrant worker from the countryside. There seemed to be no connection at all.

This kid must be from a construction site, coming to complain to the chairman. Thinking of this, the guard immediately became more alert. He had just watched a movie a few days ago, "Owe Me 150,000," where a worker went to the chairman to demand money.

Thinking of this, the guard and the older guard exchanged a glance, clearly having the same thought.

"What do you want with Chairman Chu?" The older guard cleared his throat and stared at Lin Yi seriously, afraid he might do something extreme.

"It's not me looking for him, it's my old man who sent me to find him." Lin Yi said lazily. He didn't care about his employer's status in the real world; they were all just people asking him for help.

"Hmm? Your old man?" Hearing Lin Yi's words, the two guards were even more convinced. In the movie, the worker was demanding money for his brother, so this kid must be demanding money for his father.

"Enough, stop wasting time. Just tell me which floor Chu Pengzhan is on, and I'll go find him!" Lin Yi didn't have time to argue with these two guards; he needed to see the person in charge as soon as possible.

"The chairman isn't here, you should leave..." The older guard looked Lin Yi over again, confirming that he had no connection to the chairman, and issued a direct order to leave.

Lin Yi didn't want to waste time with these two. He could see their expressions and guess what they were thinking. They were just looking down on him because of his simple clothes. Snobs!

"Since he's not here, I'll go inside and wait for him!" Lin Yi said, then strode into the company.

"Wait, you can't go in!" The two guards, surprised by Lin Yi's boldness, hurried to stop him.

At that moment, the elevator on the first floor opened, and a slightly plump middle-aged man and a somewhat thin, dark-skinned middle-aged man walked out.

"By now, it should be about the right time. Why hasn't Xiao Yi contacted me yet? Li Fu, why don't you drive to the station to pick him up? You've seen the photo, right?" The slightly plump man instructed the thin, dark-skinned man.

"Sure, Mr. Chen, I'll go right away." Li Fu replied respectfully.

Before Li Fu could leave, Chu Pengzhan heard the commotion at the entrance and frowned. He told Li Fu, "Go see what's happening first."

"What's happening?" Li Fu quickly walked to the entrance and saw the two security guards blocking a young man from entering the company.

"Uncle Fu, this person says he's looking for the chairman and tried to force his way in..." The guards recognized Li Fu, who, although he had no specific administrative position in the company, was the chairman's closest confidant. If they had to describe his role, he was the chairman's driver.

However, everyone in the company knew that Li Fu was more than just a driver. The guards respected him as a leader.

In many cases, Li Fu's words represented the chairman's will.

"You..." Li Fu looked at Lin Yi, his eyes wide with surprise, "You're Lin Yi?"

"Yes, it's me." Lin Yi glanced at Li Fu and nodded. He had been paying attention to Li Fu since he appeared. By instinct, this person was not Chu Pengzhan. As the chairman of a large group, Chu Pengzhan naturally exuded an aura of authority, but this person did not, though he was respected and serious, a person's aura cannot be changed.

"Hello!" Li Fu knew how important this young man was to Chu Pengzhan, so once he confirmed Lin Yi's identity, he didn't dare to be disrespectful. He quickly extended his hand to shake Lin Yi's, "I'm the chairman's secretary, Li Fu. The chairman was about to send me to the train station to pick you up, but I didn't expect you to already be here!"

As Li Fu approached, Lin Yi began to pay attention to the slightly plump middle-aged man standing nearby. If his guess was correct, this was the person he was looking for, Chu Pengzhan, the chairman of Pengzhan Group.

"Lin Yi, right?" As Lin Yi followed Li Fu, Chu Pengzhan walked over with large strides and extended his hand warmly.
