Jifeng was on an international flight with China Eastern Airlines. Although there were flights to Jiangcheng, Jifeng was unwilling to endure a 12-hour layover. It would be faster to fly directly to Moxu (Shanghai) and then transfer back.
Jifeng casually picked an action movie and put on his headphones. He had only watched half of it when the beautiful woman next to him tapped his arm and said in English, "Excuse me, are you from China?"
Jifeng smiled and thought to himself that it was really strange for two Chinese people to use English to communicate on a plane. There was nothing better than speaking one's native language. He quickly replied, "I'm from China. You can speak Chinese. What can I help you with?"
As he spoke, Jifeng took off his headphones and couldn't help but look at the beautiful woman in front of him. She had a delicate round face, skin that seemed to glow, and a pair of beautiful, expressive eyes. She wore a long dress in black and white, with white flowers on the top and evenly spaced white dots on the black part. Despite sitting, Jifeng could tell that she had a good figure. Her chestnut-colored long curly hair made her look even more beautiful.
The beautiful woman next to her was clearly delighted when she heard Jifeng speak Chinese and saw him looking at her. She asked, "Are you on a business trip to Japan?"
Jifeng thought for a moment and nodded slightly, "Yes, I had some business to handle in Tokyo. Now that it's done, I'm heading back to China."
The woman smiled sweetly again, "You're so lucky. The National Day holiday in China isn't much fun. It's crowded everywhere, like people are about to be crushed."
Jifeng agreed, "Yes, I'm glad I didn't plan to go out during the holiday. My friend is getting married during the National Day, so I'll be staying home for the rest of the time."
"Are you from Moxu? I haven't been to Moxu much. Do you have any good recommendations?"
Jifeng smiled wryly, "You might be disappointed. I'm not from Moxu; I'm from Jiangcheng."
"Then what are some good places to visit in Jiangcheng?"
"Of course, there are many good places to visit..." Jifeng closed the movie and started chatting with the woman about his hometown. He introduced her to the top ten tourist attractions and the rich nightlife, among other things. They chatted for about half an hour.
The woman listened with great interest, her eyes sparkling. At the end, she cupped her face and said with longing, "Wow, it sounds really fun. I can't wait to visit."
Jifeng smiled, "Jiangcheng always welcomes you. By the way, where are you from? I'm Jifeng."
"Hello, I'm from South Korea. My name is Xuxian." Xuxian extended her hand, and Jifeng shook it. Seeing that Jifeng still didn't recognize her, she felt a mix of joy and disappointment. Wasn't she famous in China? Could they be lying?
Jifeng was surprised to hear that the woman next to him was from South Korea. He said, "Your Chinese is really good. If you hadn't told me, I would have thought you were Chinese. Welcome to China. Are you here on a business trip?"
Xuxian blinked playfully and smiled, "Yes, I'm only staying in China for three days before returning to South Korea. If your friend's wedding was in Moxu, I could have attended. I've never been to a Chinese wedding before; I really want to see what it's like."
Jifeng shook his head and smiled, "Chinese weddings aren't that interesting. It's just about organizing a car fleet to pick up the bride, then having the wedding at a hotel. Sometimes they visit the newlyweds' home first, then hold the ceremony at the hotel, meet the elders, and exchange red envelopes. Some weddings can be quite lively, especially with more young people, who can make it endless fun."
Xuxian's eyes lit up, "It sounds really interesting."
Jifeng shrugged helplessly, "You'll find it boring after attending a few. But my friend's wedding is in Jiangcheng. If it were in Moxu, I could invite you to see it."
Xuxian said with regret, "That's too bad."
Jifeng smiled, "If you come to China often, there will be a chance. If you're interested, I can invite you to my friend's wedding in Moxu in the future."
Xuxian's mood, which had been a bit down, suddenly brightened. She smiled, "Really? You must take me to see it."
Jifeng nodded slightly and smiled, "Sure, give me your contact information. We can stay in touch." He reached into his right pocket and took out his phone.
Seeing Jifeng's Samsung phone, Xuxian, who had been hesitant, immediately took it and entered her name, phone number, and email into the contacts.
She said, "Usually, try to send me emails or text messages. I might be too busy to answer calls."
Jifeng smiled, "No problem. I don't want to be a nuisance. What do you do? How can you be so busy that you don't have time to answer calls?"
Xuxian said helplessly, "Sometimes I have to record programs, so I often don't carry my phone."
Jifeng was slightly taken aback and looked at Xuxian again. "No wonder, you're a celebrity. I understand."
Hearing "no wonder," Xuxian thought Jifeng had recognized her, but seeing his calm expression and unfamiliar gaze, she realized he didn't know who she was. She was secretly delighted. "What about you? What do you do? If you need an endorsement, consider me. I can give you a discount."
Jifeng laughed, "If I need one, I'll definitely think of you first. You're the only female celebrity I know. But I'm currently unemployed. I went to Tokyo to look for a new job. I might have some leads by the end of the year. Are you planning to develop your career in China?"
Xuxian blinked, as if struggling with something, before saying, "Developing in China might be good. The market is bigger, unlike South Korea, which is quite small. And now, with the Jeju Island incident, the whole of South Korea is in mourning."
Jifeng agreed, "If possible, I actually suggest you develop in China. I remember several South Korean actresses have done well in China, and some have even settled here. In terms of the market, China definitely has more potential, especially in TV dramas. There are so many people who watch TV dramas in China." Jifeng then talked about several popular TV drama stars and their breakout roles.
He also analyzed that most Chinese celebrities became famous through TV dramas, as more people in China watch TV dramas than movies. Although the number of people watching movies is increasing, the support for domestic films is still lacking. In China, TV drama actors often also act in movies, and vice versa, with many becoming famous through TV dramas.
Xuxian, seeing Jifeng's serious analysis, couldn't help but smile, "Do you often watch TV dramas? You seem very familiar with them."
Jifeng smiled, "I used to watch them a lot, but I haven't had much time recently. I prefer to go to the gym in the evenings." (Practicing the Body Strengthening Technique could also be considered a form of exercise.)
Chatting all the way, it aligned with Jifeng's desire to pass the time. Having a beautiful and sweet woman to chat with was a pleasant experience. They chatted very well throughout the flight.
After the plane landed, Xuxian put on her big sunglasses. Jifeng stood up first, let her out, and helped her take her luggage from the overhead compartment. They walked off the plane together.
Outside the plane, Xuxian suddenly said, "Jifeng, why don't you come with me through customs? I'm waiting for my assistant, and we can go through the VIP channel."
Jifeng, who had planned to leave after helping her with her luggage, smiled, "Sure, I can take advantage of your VIP status. The regular customs line can be very long."
Less than ten minutes later, after all the first-class passengers had disembarked, the economy class passengers, including Xuxian's assistant and two bodyguards, came out.
Seeing the two relatively strong bodyguards, Jifeng couldn't help but look at Xuxian and smile, "Wow, you must be quite famous in South Korea. I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the entertainment industry."
Xuxian smiled proudly but then blushed slightly, "It's okay. They're just here to help me deal with the reporters."
Jifeng nodded in agreement and walked with Xuxian and her team toward the VIP channel. It took less than five minutes for the five of them to pass through security. Whether the media didn't know Xuxian was coming or she wasn't that famous in China, Jifeng didn't see many reporters, which saved him some trouble.
Outside the airport, Jifeng waved goodbye to Xuxian and watched the car that picked them up drive away. He then turned and returned to the airport to continue his journey to Jiangcheng.
However, Jifeng didn't know that Xuxian's assistant only turned her head back when the car was out of sight. She looked at Xuxian curiously, "Xuxian, did you develop a crush on that handsome guy? Wow, I've never seen you let a stranger through customs with you. Aren't you worried about the media catching you?"
Xuxian pushed up her big sunglasses and smiled lightly, "We just had a pleasant chat on the plane. You're thinking too much."
