Chapter 36 of 100
Chapter 36
3 min read738 words
After leaving Grandpa's shop, I immediately returned to the headquarters of *Yaten no Ginusagi* and met with Vince.
"It seems that giving you time to think was a wise decision."
Vince smiled as he said this, looking at my face.
"Vince—no, President. I accept your invitation. Please, let me join *Yaten no Ginusagi*."
I bowed to the President and told him this.
Then the door opened, and Selma entered the room.
Selma handed me a folded piece of cloth.
I took it, but I was at a loss as to what to do with it. Selma then spoke up.
"Try unfolding it."
I did as Selma said.
"This is..."
When I unfolded it, it turned out to be a long coat with a hood, primarily in black and blue.
Though the design was different, it closely resembled the coats worn by *Yaten no Ginusagi* members during their explorations. On the left chest area, the emblem of *Yaten no Ginusagi* was embroidered.
"I made this coat based on the one Orun wore. Try it on."
I put on the long coat. Of course, I hadn't told them my size, so it was loose and baggy.
(I feel bad for the effort they put into making this, but I can't wear this for the dungeon exploration...)
As I was thinking this, the coat started shrinking and eventually fit me perfectly.
(What, what is this...?)
I couldn't hide my confusion at this unprecedented phenomenon.
"Heh, I doubt you knew about this. This is one of our clan's secret techniques. There are others, but I'll tell you about them gradually. Of course, I ask that you keep this confidential?"
"I had no idea such a technique existed."
I expressed my honest thoughts. Just seeing this made me think that coming here was a good decision. I had always been eager to learn various knowledge and techniques, but there were limits to what I could achieve on my own.
The thought of learning knowledge and techniques I didn't know made me incredibly excited.
The President spoke to me with a serious expression.
"You were recently betrayed by a trusted companion. I can only imagine the depth of your emotional wounds, but I can tell they are quite deep. That's why we want to show you our sincerity not just in words but also through actions. We want you to believe that we are worthy of your trust. *Yaten no Ginusagi* will surely win Orun Doola's trust."
Indeed, being kicked out of the hero party had been more painful than I thought. I had even considered being alone for a while.
What changed my mind was Grandpa's words. But it wasn't just that. It was also the scene after defeating the boss on the 50th floor of the training dungeon, where we all praised each other.
It was a heartwarming scene where everyone was genuinely smiling, even from an outsider's perspective.
I wanted to be part of that circle. I wanted to have friends and companions with whom I could laugh from the bottom of my heart.
This has been my wish since childhood. I don't know why I feel this way. —Wait, why do I feel this way? How could I forget?
"...Is that so? Then I will judge for myself whether this clan is truly trustworthy."
"That's what I hoped."
It has been nine years since I became an explorer. After being kicked out of the party by my longtime companions, I am about to start my second life as an explorer.
Thank you for reading to the end.
This concludes the first chapter! The second chapter will begin after a filler chapter.
Look forward to Orun's future activities in *Yaten no Ginusagi*!
