Shu Yian had originally thought that she had simply transmigrated into a book and all she needed to do was complete the missions. However, the longer she stayed, the more things got complicated and more mysteries popped up to be solved.
She’s never been good at puzzle games, can she really solve all this with just her brain?
“Add more money, otherwise I’ll quit!”
With such a complex mission, how are the original benefits enough anymore? Moreover, she has learned the system is a big fat liar from her experience. The system had promised that she could use the original owner’s connections to make money, but, as it turns out, the original owner has no connections at all! Not to mention she has to clean up the big mess the previous host left her.
She really is working hard just to finish a thankless mission.
If she had a wider network of contacts and a harmonious relationship with her parents, she could borrow money to invest and then repay the debt after earning a profit. Perhaps she would’ve earned a big fortune by now. Would she have to look at Su Wen’s annoying face then?
Fu*k!
She should’ve never thought of Su Wne in the first place, just thinking about her made Shu Yian very angry. She’s been wearing high heels all night and who knows how far she’ll have to walk to get a car back home. Her feet are killing her and what if a strange person takes advantage of her on such a quiet night?
And she did want to thank her for her help earlier….thanks my ass! Beat it!
She has never met such an ungrateful person who throws away someone after using them!
Shu Yian probably jinxed it because just as these thoughts creeped in her brain and after walking for a few more minutes, three sloppy looking boys appeared in front of her.
Shu Yian promptly named them, red hair, yellow hair, and green hair.
Ah, there really are people out there who are willing to dye their hair the color of grass.
The three men quickly surrounded her and the red-haired one was smoking a cigarette as he spoke, “Aiya, this chick isn’t half bad. Hey, why don’t you take a stroll with him?”
The yellow-haired fellow laughed, “Come, this big brother will take you out for a drink!”
The green-haired guy said nothing but he rubbed his hands together with a wicked look on his face and reached out to pull on Shu Yian’s arm.
Currently, Shu Yian is filled with fury and rage. So these punching bags that have willingly appeared in front of her are more than she could wish for.
When the green hair reached forward to touch her, seh stepped back and raised her arms. Then she jammed her elbow directly into his throat. The green hair was suddenly in great pain and he bent over, hugging his neck with his hands.
The other two rushed forward to help when they saw this. Shu Yian then simply kicked her leg out and stuck the red-haired guy in the crotch. The red hair also bends forward in surrender as cold sweat poured down his face.
The last person was taken care of even more easily as she kicked her high heels right in his diaphragm, causing his face to pale immediately.
Shu Yian clapped her hands together and glared at the three delinquents in front of her with a fierce gaze, “What decade is this for you to still be wearing such ridiculous hairstyles? None of you have any strength and yet you dare to come out and bully girls? Do us girls look that easy to bully?”
The three of them covered their wounded areas and none of them dared to answer.
Shu Yian crossed her arms and shouted, “Are you deaf? I’m talking to you!”
The three of them cowered in front of her fierce shouting and quickly apologized, “We’re listening, we’re listening. We apologize! We have eyes but can’t see Mount Tai!”
【Originally we simply received a phone call telling us to bully a young woman. How would we know that this woman would be so strong and violent! She may have good looks but she’s fiercer than a tigress!】
“Who called you?” Shu Yian focused on the green hair and the murderous aura in her eyes made one break out in cold shivers.
【I never said about anyone calling us, how does she know?】
“Spit it out!” Seeing that the green-haired guy wasn’t saying anything, Shu Yian yelled again.
“There are certain rules in our line of work! Ma’am, please just let me go!” The green-haired man’s eyes shifted nervously.
【I can’t tell you that the person said their name is Su Wen.】
【But what if she decides to beat me up again? Should I tell her or not?】
Shu Yian froze at hearing that name, feeling as if a needle had stabbed her through the heart. At first it didn’t hurt but then the needle pierced her a few more times and the pain gradually spread through her heart.
It was Su Wen.
She never knew that she would be such a petty and childish person.
The green-haired guy waited for a while, but Shu Yian remained silent and didn’t seem like she intended to ask any more questions. He was just breathing a sigh of relief when Shu Yian called a number, “Hello, is this the police? Yeah, I’m on Hua Yin street….”
Shu Yian looked at the number of the house next to her, “Next to house number 37. I’ll like to report three people for sexual harassement.”
The red-haired yelled mournfully at the sky, “No, big sister! You’ve already beaten us up, why do you still need to call the police?”
Shu Yian glared at them coldly, her body no longer full of fierce and vicious energy, but instead filled with a touch of sadness, “This time you were unlucky enough to have bumped into me. But what if you had bumped into another girl? Who would’ve suffered then?”
“Get some morals. Who doesn’t have a sister or daughter, don’t you feel pain for them? What one of your loved ones were the ones who encountered such an unlucky thing? How would you feel then?”
The reason Shu Yian was wasting her breath on these bastards was because she didn’t want this to happen to other girls who, unlike her, probably don’t know any self-defense or martial arts.
The young men stayed silent, their hearts wavering.
Of course a person cannot change with just a few words so Shu Yian did not push further. She could only hope that once these people receive their punishment, even if they don’t repent after coming out of prison, at least they would think of her words if they continue to do evil.
A wicked person’s hesitance could be an innocent person’s only lifeline.
Although none of them have truly repented, perhaps because Shu Yian really was too violent earlier, all of them hurriedly agreed, “We understand, we will change. Ma’am, won’t you let us go?”
Shu Yian was too lazy to accompany them and wait here for the police so she simply tore off her belt and tied all of their hands together in a tight knot. As she walked away, she didn’t turn back even once no matter how much the people behind her shouted.
At this moment, a white Maserati suddenly drove up behind her and honked their horn at Shu Yi’an. The window slowly rolled down to reveal Lin Ge’s gentle face.
“I just saw three people tied up back there, An-An are you okay?!”
“I’m fine.” Shu Yian forced out a smile.
Lin Ge felt slightly surprised at her walking by herself, “You didn’t leave with President Su?”
After saying that she suddenly added, “It’s my fault you two are fighting. Do you need me to accompany you back to Su Wen’s house and explain everything to her?”
“It’s alright, you don’t need to worry about us. Su Wen had to leave in a hurry and I ate a lot just now so I wanted to go out for a stroll. The driver would’ve come back and picked me up after a while.” Although Shu Yian made up an excuse, even she felt it was shaky at best.
However, it seems that Lin Ge actually bought it.
The woman patiently listened to her words and then smiled softly, “It’ll take a while for the driver to drive there and back. If An-An doesn’t mind, then get in my car first and I’ll drive you back.”
“Alright, I’ll have to trouble you then.” Shu Yian is not familiar with the surrounding area and there are only private villas around her, so who knows how long it would take her to find a cab. If she refuses the kindness of others at this moment, then she really will have to walk all the way back.
Furthermore, Su Wen can’t be counted on either.
The journey back was quite long and originally this would be the best time to get closer with her goddess, but, because of Su Wen, Shu Yian was not in a good mood.
Lin ge is someone who can read the room and so she didn’t bother her with conversation.
The “Su Wen” that the green-haired fellow had thought in his heart lingered in her mind.
Su Wen may be a narrow-minded, immature person who argues with her a lot, but she has never gone too far in her actions before. At the very least, she had some propriety. She would only verbally anger others but never actually physically do anything.
At the time, she had lost her temper and was in a state of mind that caused her to believe the green-haired fellow’s nonsense. Now that she has calmed down and took the time to think about it, she realizes the Su Wen would never do such a thing or even if she did, she wasn’t stupid enough to leave her real name with those thugs.
All signs indicated that someone was framing her.
And the person who framed Su Wen wanted to hurt her….so a killing two birds with one stone scenario?
If that’s the case, she wonders what exactly the mastermind was thinking.
It stands to reason that if that person really wanted to do something to her, she wouldn’t know until it’s too late. After all, on such a quiet and empty night a van driving a few people would not have received any notice. Then as soon as the car door opened they could have someone with a handkerchief sprinkled with chloroform cover her nose and knock her out. Then she would faint and they would carry her into the car, then no one would have realized she was dead until it was too late.
But the mastermind chose to hire a few colorful delinquents instead.
Did they want to give her a warning or did they look down on her?
In terms of suspects, Yan Ruxue is the one with the most motivation. Not only would this give her a slap in the face, by saying Su Wen’s name, this could drive a wedge in her and Su Wen’s relationship.
But Shu Yi’an knew that it was impossible for Yan Ruxue to do this. That woman has an honorable character and although she might do some petty scheming, she absolutely despises doing such low life things.
Furthermore, she only heard Su Wen’s name because she read their minds, but those three delinquents don’t look very intelligent so they definitely would’ve spilled if she had pushed.
She really has to hand it to the mastermind. They’ve played it really well, killing three birds with one stone. They schemed against her, Su Wen, and even used Yan Ruxue as a scapegoat.
But she shouldn’t have offended anyone.
This body has had three different souls, including her. So even if she wants to find who this body has offended, it would be too difficult. She has no memory of the first two souls and so she doesn’t know what they have done. But has something similar happened to them?
In short, Shu Yian is at a loss. There are many things she hasn’t figured out and there is no line connecting the dots that can give her any useful information.
Lin Ge’s car arrived at Su Wen’s house before she knew it. Lin Ge hesitated after seeing Shu Yian’s distracted look, but still called out gently, “An-An, we’re here.”
“Ah?” hu Yian returned to her senses and only then did she realize that she had completely forgotten about the heroine. Lin Ge was too quiet, and she didn’t have any loud thoughts at all. If it was someone else, she would definitely not have been able to get lost in her own thoughts.
She said a little apologetically, “I’m sorry. Say, do you want to come in for some snacks?”
“No thank you.” Lin Ge smiled warmly, “Maybe next time. I’ll come back once the relationship between you and President Su has eased a bit, otherwise I’m afraid I might cause you more trouble.”
What a sweet jie-jie. Even if the system says the results are inconclusive and they need to observe more, Shu Yian has unilaterally decided that she is the heroine in her heart.
“Then, see you next time!” Although Shu Yian really wanted to invite her inside for a chat, Lin Ge was right. With Su Wen’s temper, she’ll have to tread carefully, let alone Lin Ge.
She and Su Wen are enemies and thus she is used to Su Wen’s bad attitude and sharp mouth, but the goddess must not go in to be humiliated!
Therefore, Shu Yian could only reluctantly say goodbye to Lin Ge. She didn’t bother with the niceties and said directly and sincerely: “Goodbye, goddess!”
Lin Ge simply chuckled in amusement, her smile like the warm sunshine in March that warmed one’s body and mind.
“Goodbye!”
Shu Yian waved happily at her and the heavy steps she took up towards Su Wen’s house became lighter as she walked on.
The smile of her goddess has made her courageous.
Meanwhile, near a window upstairs, Su Wen watched Shu Yian smile fondly at Lin Ge and clenched her fists at the sight.
She really let that woman drive her back?
Why didn’t she give her a call and ask her to pick her up?
Is it really that hard for her to take the initiative to call her?
She feels really angry this time!
Although it was impulsive of her to leave Shu Yian alone, she was too angry to think clearly. Furthermore, the reason she left was to see what Shu Yian would do. To see whether she would choose herself or that woman. Sure enough, she really chose the other person instead.
They’ve only known each other for, what, an hour?
Is she no better than someone who she’s only known for an hour?
Su Wen’s face was cold. The way Shu Yian acted towards Lin Ge stings her eyes. She has never seen Shu Yian smile that brightly at her before.
No, to be more precise, she never saw Shu Yian smile at her at all.
This white-eyed wolf! Get out of here! She must kick her out!
Su Wen originally planned to ignore Shu Yian and let this go. But now she had no other choice but to settle accounts with Shu Yian. She must go down and face her.
That’s right, she’s going down to kick her out not because she wanted to see her so bad!
So as soon as Shu Yian entere the house, she saw Su Wen standing at the bottom of the stairs looking down her nose at her, “Get out!”
“Why?” Shu Yian shot back.
“No reason, you’re just unpleasant to the eye.”
【Shu Yian, get it through your thick skull! This is my house, yet you flirt with other girls on my doorstep! Yet you have the guts to ask me why?】
【Even if you don’t take me seriously in your eyes, I’m still angry!】
Shu Yi’an stared at her, and Su Wen’s hair on the back of her neck raised up under her intense stare.
【What are you looking at?】
【If you have something to say and you don’t wanna leave, then say a few nice words to me while begging. Then maybe I’ll reconsider my decision.】
Shu Yian was in no mood to argue with Su Wen over these useless things. To be honest, she was angry with Su Wen for leaving her behind and even wanted to settle accounts with her, but when she thought about how she had helped her it could be said that the loss and gain canceled each other out.
“I bumped into three hooligans today.” Shu Yian changed the subject.
When Su Wen heard these words her face suddenly grew solemn and serious. She rushed down the stairs and pulled Shu Yian towards her looking her up and down to make sure she was all right. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief, “Seems like the ruffians were after your diamond-encrusted belt but otherwise you seem to be fine.”
Besides the lack of a belt, Shu Yian did not seem to be hurt and so she also didn’t feel the need to say any kind words of concern out loud.
“Those people said you ordered them to attack me.” Although Shu Yian knew that Su Wen was most likely innocent, she still wanted to tell her everything. Su Wen may look unreliable on the surface, but she is still a smart person. So although she may not have a network to help her investigate, she can hand this matter over to Su Wen.
She also didn’t directly say that she trusts Su Wen as she wanted to see how Su Wen would react if she pretended to complain.
Su Wen got anxious.
【What, does Shu Yian really think it was me?】
Her first reaction was to worry about whether or not Shu Yian suspected that she was the one behind it and, 【Something’s fishy. I’ve obviously been framed. 】
Yet, she was reluctant to explain herself. She believed that people who should believe in you should always believe in you. However, this was Shu Yian she was facing so she felt the need to clarify, “I’m not so bored as to do something like that!”
【No matter how excessive I may be, I would not use such dirty methods to hurt you! 】
But as she reflected over her and Shu Yian’s relationships, she felt there was a high probability that the other party doesn’t trust her so she added in a panic, “Believe it or not!”
Shu Yian understood that the person wanted to sincerely explain everything to her, but really this person might as well not have said anything at all.
It’s a good thing she is smart and can read minds and so she knew that Su Wen is not so bad that there is no hope of curing her. However, if she was replaced with a silly, sweet heroine then they probably would’ve misunderstood this sand sculpture ten times over.
She pushed Su Wen away in annoyance, “Out of the way, I want to go rest.”
Su Wen didn’t stop her this time, even though she still had some things to say in her heart.
【Hey! I really didn’t do it!】
【The basic trust between people….at least give me a little!】
【Shu Yian, Shu Yian, turn around and look at me!】
Shu Yian’s figure drifted further and further away from her. What’s the point of looking back? It would be useless to do so.
After taking a nice and hot bath, Shu Yian returned to her room. The hour was getting late and she was not in the mood to write, so she simply went to sleep.
In a few minutes, she soundly fell asleep.
She had a dream.
In the dream a mirror appeared and she stood in front of this mirror. The person in the mirror looked exactly like her but there was blood flowing down her forehead.
She thought that perhaps she had blood on her forehead and reached up to touch it, but when she looked at her hand there was no blood on it.
At that moment, the person in the mirror reached for her and she jumped back in shock.
Her reflection wanted to say something to her, but instead of speaking she simply pointed at her then at herself (the reflection). The reflection then raised an index finger, as if she was saying the number “one”.
