In front of the vending machine, Huo Cheng was still holding the cup of pickled pepper beef-flavored instant noodles. “Why did you come down and buy water by yourself?”
Shen Wanying controlled her facial muscles well as she looked at him. “I may have sprained my foot, but it’s not good to trouble the others to help me with everything. The hotel has an elevator so I don’t need to walk that much.”
Huo Cheng nodded slightly as he looked at her and said, “We will have dinner in a while. Don’t go back to your room. Just sit here for a bit.”
“Sure.” She was too lazy to return to her room anyways so she easily agreed.
He helped her to a pavilion outside to sit down and rest. As they sat leisurely at the edge, they could see all kinds of kites flying high up in the air.
Despite the beauty of them dancing about in the sky, Shen Wanying couldn’t spare much thought towards watching them now. She was only eyeing the instant noodles that Huo Cheng had put aside.
Her heart was disturbed.
She didn’t know why Huo Cheng had said that earlier. Does he really have a friend who likes to eat instant noodles while shaking his leg, moreover he also eats beef flavored with pickled peppers? How can there be such a coincidence in the world?
But if not, then why does he know this?
It was the biggest secret in Shen Wanying’s life: she liked to eat instant noodles while shaking her leg.
Thinking of this, she remembered the BL novel that Huo Cheng glimpsed last time.
He accepted it so calmly. Isn’t that strange in itself?
However, these things weren’t what she worried about the most. Her biggest dilemma now was that she felt that her image in front of Huo Cheng had been completely ruined… As if she was standing in front of him bare…without any clothes.
…Wait, what yellow*pornographic garbage am I thinking about?
“What’s the matter?” noticing her silence, Huo Cheng asked her.
“Nothing.” She reflexively denied, picking up the water bottle with the intention of taking a sip.
The bottle cap was unscrewed easily.
She was taken aback for a moment. Then she realized that when Huo Cheng handed her the bottle of water, he had also helped unscrew the cap.
Something subtle was growing in Shen Wanying’s heart. Speaking of which, the bottle of water he’d given her was also the bottle she originally wanted to buy.
Huo Cheng knew her tastes well. But that seemed to be of little importance. He knew some of her secrets which nobody knew, but he didn’t ridicule her or mention it to others. She felt that he cared about her very much.
Though, this might be due to their childhood.
“When my foot is better, I also want to find some time to fly a kite.” Shen Wanying raised her head, looking at the kites in the sky, a smile forming on her lips.
Huo Cheng also followed her gaze and looked at the kites. “En, I’ll accompany you.”
“Okay.” She pointed to a kite in the distance. “Look, that dragon kite seems to be Ji Yao’s. This kind of kite is not easy to fly. I didn’t expect he could fly it so well.”
Huo Cheng knitted his brows and asked, “You seem to really care about Ji Yao?”
Shen Wanying chuckled twice. “Yes, a little bit.”
The corner of Huo Cheng’s mouth straightened a little. He wanted to ask her if she liked Ji Yao, but in the end, he swallowed the question.
Not long after, it was time for dinner. The students eventually gathered in the dining room one after another where the evening show was arranged to be performed. The ones who were participating would take turns going up. After they finished their performance, they would step down for dinner.
For this type of event, most of the students chose to sing a song. Although the students had different levels of singing ability, everyone cheered them on. When it came to pushing the whole audiences’ mood to the pinnacle, it was thanks to the joint skit presented by Zhao Yimeng and other Grade II class members.
The story was very clichéd, but the students who performed it were very funny. In addition, the identity of their class members made such a contrast that even the teacher smiled from ear to ear.
After Zhao Yimeng finished her performance and came back down, she appeared gloomy. “I’m done. From today on, my legendary reputation has been ruined!”
Why did I agree to participate in this skit in the first place!
Shen Wanying smiled and looked at her. “Why? I think you performed well just now. Even Ji Yao laughed.”
“Really?” After all, Ji Yao was Zhao Yimeng’s first male god. Hearing that her male god laughed, she was happy for two seconds, then became even more depressed than before. “It doesn’t seem to be a good thing, right?”
In the end, the skit she disliked so much was voted as the winner in tonight’s performance by everyone.
After returning to the room, Shen Wanying thought back to it and found it funny. Zhao Yimeng had turned her grief and anger into appetite. She took apart all the snacks she had brought and called out to Shen Wanying to eat and catch up on some drama together.
While the two of them stayed in the room, there were other students who were still wandering outside.
Fang Yichang called over Wang Tingting and Qiu Ziqing who were about to return to the hotel. He looked at them and commented, “There were too many people during the day, and I couldn’t find a chance to ask you. Today, Shen Wanying was injured. Did you do it on purpose?”
Qiu Ziqing didn’t say a word. Wang Tingting took the lead in lashing out with indignance. “Fang Yichang, why are you asking that? We have heaven watching. Is it even possible to plan out whether she will be injured or not?”
A smiling Fang Yichang said to her, “Was it on purpose or not? You know it in your own heart. I don’t want to say anything, but I hope you will stay away from Shen Wanying in the future, otherwise don’t blame me for being impolite.” With that, he turned and left.
Wang Tingting choked back her words for a while before ordering him to stop. “Fang Yichang, are you stupid? Can’t you see that Shen Wanying and Huo Cheng have a good relationship?”
Fang Yichang stopped and looked back at her. “What do you mean?”
Wang Tingting said, “I don’t mean anything. I just want to tell you. You like Shen Wanying and Ziqing likes Huo Cheng. Shouldn’t we work together?”
“Work together?” Fang Yichang took a step back. “You want to cooperate?” He laughed. “Sorry, I won’t stoop as low as you.”
“You…!”
“When I, Fang Yichang, like someone, I will chase her openly instead of plotting in secret.” He followed up with a warning. “You’d better put away those dirty little tricks of yours.”
Wang Tingting’s heart really couldn’t accept it. What the hell happened, did I suddenly take the vicious female supporting role in a drama?
Right now, the vicious female side character had been counterattacked. Even though she had suffered so much anger in a single day, she wasn’t even the vicious female support at all!
Right between her musing, an ear-piercing shriek suddenly erupted in the dark night.
Both Wang Tingting and Qiu Ziqing were startled, reflexively shrinking against the wall.
