"What's going on? When did the fighting start?" Hu Hao looked around at the chaos of explosions and bullets, still confused about why there was a war domestically. Hadn't he just participated in a peacekeeping mission, and wasn't his vehicle blown up? How could he still be alive and fighting again?
"Lèngzi, quickly, bring up the ammunition!" a voice shouted, firing a gun while shouting without even turning his head.
Hu Hao didn't know who to address.
"That's not right, these, these are the Japanese!" Hu Hao saw through the trench that the men in yellow uniforms were charging towards their position.
"Ouch!" Hu Hao was kicked, and he instinctively tried to stand up, but was firmly held down.
"Do you want to die, Lèngzi? I've been calling you for a while. Bring the bullets over, are you dumb?" a middle-aged man shouted loudly in Hu Hao's ear.
"What are you standing there for? Go get the ammunition!" the middle-aged man picked up the ammunition box next to Hu Hao and crawled towards the trench.
Hearing this, Hu Hao immediately picked up the ammunition box at his feet and followed the middle-aged man.
After reaching the position, Hu Hao put down the ammunition and lay down in the trench, looking ahead. He saw that the entire front was filled with Japanese soldiers, who were charging towards them in dense waves.
"What are you doing here? Go get the ammunition!" a soldier next to him said to Hu Hao.
Hu Hao ignored him, or rather, he hadn't realized his duty yet.
"Get down, this isn't a place for you!" the soldier got angry and kicked Hu Hao a few times.
"Why are you kicking me?" Hu Hao said to the soldier, dissatisfied.
The soldier put down his gun, ignoring Hu Hao's reaction, and dragged him down the trench, "I said, get down. If you die, it won't be worth it."
"No, don't drag me, why can't I watch?" Hu Hao was dragged back, shouting loudly.
"Lèngzi, you're being silly again. Go get the ammunition!" the middle-aged man shouted loudly when he saw this.
"Why do I have to get the ammunition while you fight?" Hu Hao muttered to himself. "Fine, I'll get it, but I need to figure out what's going on. How did I, a special forces soldier, end up here, and why am I designated to carry ammunition?" Hu Hao carefully checked his body. Hmm! His internal skills were still there!
Hu Hao ran back to the ammunition storage, carrying two boxes at a time. After distributing the ammunition, the battle was still ongoing.
He saw a soldier who had been killed, with a gun still nearby. Hu Hao picked up the gun, "Damn, a Type 38! An antique!" He pulled the bolt and climbed to the position to start aiming.
"Do you know how to use it?" a soldier next to him asked.
Hu Hao glanced at him, ignoring him.
"Bang"
"This, Lèngzi, you've got some skills! You actually hit him!" the soldier looked at Hu Hao in surprise. Hu Hao's shot had just taken out a squad leader.
"Pfft, I'm an elite in the army. If I can't hit him at this distance, I'd have no face to live," Hu Hao thought, continuing to ignore him. He pulled the bolt and continued aiming.
"Bang" Another one. He pulled the bolt again, but ran out of bullets. Hu Hao looked around, found the ammunition box he had carried over, and crawled over to grab a handful of bullets to put in his pocket. He crawled back.
The soldier was stunned by Hu Hao's actions. Lèngzi could actually shoot, no, that's not right, Lèngzi could actually fight.
"What are you looking at? Why aren't you shooting? I'm not a beauty, and the Japanese are almost here!" Hu Hao said, seeing the soldier staring at him.
"Oh," the soldier turned his head and started aiming and shooting, still puzzled. Wasn't he supposed to be a fool? How could a fool shoot and kill people? It's bizarre!
Hu Hao continued lying there, aiming and shooting, one shot, one kill, stunning the soldier next to him.
"Lèngzi, where are you? Go get more bullets!" the middle-aged man's voice came from a distance.
"Go, go get the bullets," Hu Hao said to the soldier next to him.
"Oh," the soldier obeyed Hu Hao's command, still in shock from earlier.
Hu Hao continued shooting and killing the Japanese.
Gradually, the surrounding soldiers noticed that a sharpshooter had appeared, one shot, one kill, always hitting the head or the heart, never the leg. They were all looking for who it was, who was so skilled.
"Bang" The 21st, Hu Hao counted in his head.
"Bang" The 22nd
He pulled the bolt and reloaded, suddenly feeling something was off. Why were so many eyes on him? Hu Hao looked around and saw many soldiers staring at him. "What are you looking at? Why aren't you shooting the Japanese?" a voice came, it was the middle-aged man, who had crouched over, followed by the soldier.
"Lèngzi, what are you doing? I heard you can kill the Japanese," the middle-aged man said.
"Hmm," Hu Hao said unhappily. Who would be happy being called Lèngzi?
He continued aiming and shooting. 23rd
"Wow, not bad!" the middle-aged man said. He then told the soldier behind him, "Go get more bullets."
Hu Hao pulled the bolt, continued aiming, and shooting. 24th
This display stunned the middle-aged man.
"Haozi, are you feeling better?" the middle-aged man asked excitedly.
"What do you mean better? Can you stop talking? Don't you see the Japanese are coming? Why aren't you shooting?" Hu Hao couldn't stand the middle-aged man's noise, even though the bullets and shells were flying around, it was still uncomfortable to have someone nagging in his ear.
"Alright, I won't talk. We'll talk after this battle," the man said, then took out his pistol and started shooting.
Hu Hao continued pulling the bolt and shooting.
"Commander, Commander, telegram," a soldier with a cloth bag came to the middle-aged man and handed him a piece of paper.
The middle-aged man put down his gun and crouched in the trench to read the telegram.
"Damn, the Japanese are too ruthless," he said, crouching to leave. After a few steps, he turned back to Hu Hao, "Haozi, find me after the battle."
Hu Hao didn't respond, continuing to shoot. The commander didn't care if he heard and continued crawling towards the trench.
The battle lasted about two hours. Hu Hao killed 104 Japanese soldiers, stunning the nearby soldiers. This fool's marksmanship was so good, killing so many people, and he used to only carry ammunition in the army. Now he could actually kill.
Seeing the Japanese retreat, Hu Hao put away his gun and squatted in the trench. He wanted to smoke, as he always did after completing a mission. He felt in his pocket, but found only a few bullets left, no cigarettes.
"Why am I so poor?" Hu Hao thought.
