"Delicious! Xixi really likes it!" The little one contentedly patted her bulging little tummy and leaned back in her little chair, not at all ladylike, giggling at her father.
There were still some noodles left in the bowl, but it was just that the little one couldn't eat any more.
Whether it was the fragrant and smooth egg, the aromatic instant noodles, or the fresh and juicy cabbage, Xixi loved them all, eating even more than before!
"Tomorrow, Dad will buy some ingredients and make something even better for you!" Yang Yi smiled slightly, appearing calm, but he was actually very proud inside!
In the past, he was always alone, and cooking was just a solitary pleasure. How could it compare to the sense of achievement he felt now with his daughter's praise?
With a rare appetite, Yang Yi even poured the leftover noodles from Xixi's bowl into his own and finished them.
...
Although Yang Yi had decided to take Xixi to the amusement park the next day—this was Xixi's wish—how should he spend the evening?
Should he continue to sit awkwardly face-to-face with Xixi?
In the urban village where Yang Yi lived, there were no places for children to play nearby. After a while, Yang Yi finally came up with an idea.
"Xixi, would you like Dad to tell you a story?" Yang Yi held a towel, wiping the little one's head as he spoke while she was just out of the bath.
After the bath, Xixi turned back into the quiet and adorable little girl, sitting obediently as her father combed her hair. The little one, who had inherited Mo Fei's genes, had always been a little beauty, with her smooth, long hair, exuding elegance.
Although Xixi was only staying with her father for two days, her meticulous mother Mo Fei had prepared a large suitcase of clothes for her, including several sets of pajamas. She was now wearing a pink rabbit pajama set that she had chosen herself, which she claimed was her favorite cartoon character.
This gave Yang Yi an idea!
Dad telling stories? The little one was a bit skeptical because her father had never read bedtime stories to her like her mother did!
However, there was a story to listen to! Xixi didn't think much about it and excitedly nodded her head, happily saying, "Yes, Xixi loves listening to stories!"
What story should he tell? Yang Yi, from the time he understood things in his previous life, had been in a killer training camp, and he didn't even have a childhood, let alone know any fairy tales! He knew about Andersen's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales, but he had never read a single page!
So, Yang Yi could only turn to the movies he had seen. Fortunately, as a movie enthusiast, he hadn't missed out on the popular animated films!
"Ahem!" Yang Yi cleared his throat and began telling the story, a bit nervous, "A long, long time ago, in a beautiful kingdom called Arendelle, surrounded by the sea, there lived two lovely and beautiful princesses..."
Xixi was immediately drawn into the story by her father's description.
Yang Yi's memory had always been excellent. He could remember every detail of the movies he had seen. He continued, "The elder sister is named Elsa, and the younger sister is named Anna. Anna is very lively and loves to play with her sister."
Indeed, the story Yang Yi was about to tell was the globally popular animated film, "Frozen"!
Xixi blinked her big eyes and asked curiously, "Dad, why do their names sound like Americans?"
In this world, America was like the America of Yang Yi's previous life, located in North America and also one of the most powerful countries in the world. Xixi was born in America, but her nationality was not changed to American; Mo Fei had kept her in China.
Yang Yi smiled slightly and said, "They are not Americans, but they are foreigners."
The story was interrupted by the little one, but Yang Yi continued. The next part of the story was not just about the scenery!
Yang Yi's voice was very gentle, and it was hard to imagine that he was actually a tall, strong, tough man: "In fact, Elsa had the magical ability to create ice and snow from a young age. Just by waving her arm, many snowflakes would fall..."
Xixi's gaze followed her father's arm movements, and she seemed to really see the snowflakes flying, her little face full of reverence and envy.
"Magic, so amazing!"
"But that wasn't a good thing!" Yang Yi continued, "One night, Anna couldn't sleep and came to wake her sister, saying she wanted to build a snowman!"
Building a snowman? Xixi knew what a snowman was, and her big eyes lit up, just like the adorable Anna in the movie.
Yang Yi described to Xixi how Elsa played with her sister in a large palace, creating a snowstorm with a single magic spell, making thick snow to build a snowman, and skating with "Olaf"...
Each scene was magical and captivating. Yang Yi, who was actually a literary youth in his previous life, had a strong ability to describe. The story he told was no different from watching the movie directly, and Xixi seemed to "see" each scene.
Of course, the little one said a bit enviously, "Xixi has never played in the snow! Mom doesn't let me."
"That's because playing in the snow can be dangerous! Especially for someone your size like Anna!" Yang Yi gently tapped Xixi's little head and said softly.
The story was slowly progressing. When Xixi heard that Anna was injured and unconscious, the little one immediately grabbed her father's hand, her tender little hand sweating from nervousness.
Fortunately, Grandpa Pabbie, the troll, saved Anna, but unfortunately, Anna's memory of Elsa's magic was erased.
Xixi didn't fully understand this part, her big eyes blinking, a bit confused.
However, Yang Yi then told the story of Anna's awakening in a low, solemn voice: The king hoped that Elsa would not think about or use her magic, so he dismissed many of the castle's staff and separated Elsa and Anna, making it almost impossible for them to see each other.
"Almost overnight, Anna didn't know what had happened. Her dearest sister Elsa locked herself in her room and no longer played with her. Even when she sang songs at the door, Elsa, who had been traumatized, ignored her to protect her sister..."
Unconsciously, Xixi's big eyes were filled with tears. She seemed to feel Anna's loneliness—because of Mo Fei's special status, Xixi rarely played with other children!
"What should we do? Dad, what should we do? Help Anna, help Elsa sister..." The little girl's soft heart was touched, and she grabbed her father's hand, sobbing.
Yang Yi quickly sat down, holding the little one in his arms, patting her head, and comforting her, "Don't worry, there's more to come!"
The night was long, and Yang Yi was prepared to tell this story in great detail until Xixi fell asleep!
